Memorable match! I was barely 12 and looks like it was just a couple of years ago. Great game, great teams, a classic!! Besides... two of the world's most beautiful anthems along with La Marseillaise, Hatikva and the Star Spangled Banner (my opinion, of course).

I was standing on the field for this semi-final match at the World Cup USA 1994 tournament! That's me holding the flag on the back right corner @ 2:17.

The US Marine band did a sterling job with it's rendition of both anthems on that Wednesday July 13, 1994.

It's funny and a bit annoying how the commentator mentions that Romario and Bebeto had scored seven of ten brazilian goals between them while Andersson and Dahlin had scored eight of Sweden's eleven goals prior to this game. Together they scored nine of Sweden's fifteen goals.

We met each other in 1938, 1950, 1958, 1978, 1990 and two times in 1994. I remember very well Thomas Ravelli, Kenneth Anderson, Thomas Brolin, Martin Dahlin, etc, etc.

Good observation. It might be a FIFA regulation - I don't know.

I do know that some cities can experience a surge in electricity (even a brownout) if a stadium turns on all its lights simultaneously.

Perhaps they kept them on should the sky suddenly become cloudy (as unlikely as that might've been).
