Forty years on, in a YouTube clip, this dedication is sweet in its own right, but I wouldn't feel "angry" that they didn't add something like this right at the end of the original movie. It would have been too jarring and distracting. An understated acknowledgement to Walt Disney at the end of the credits would have worked fine though, considering that this was his last film.
