Very nice! But you don't show the one part I was interested in - the swivel base! It looks like the chair you use here has the similar play to mine but I have to keep tightening the central allen key in the bolt. It has enough play that I almost feel I'm missing a washer or spacer right at the head of the bolt - any thoughts?
We just made a new video: How to restore an Eames Lounge Chair with broken arm rest shock mounts. That video shows also the disassembling of the base. I will finish the final cut soon... i hope...
To your Question: There is a plastic bushing in the base you have to exchange. We filmed it also, but it was quite difficult to get the bushing in that I chose to cut off the film. It looked very unprofessional ;-)
If I get the next Lounge with worn bushing I will try to film it again.
Nice video and very helpful. However, I own a modern version of this chair. You are showing the old version of the chair (pre 1971) with the round cushion retaining clips. Can you display how to remove the newer cushions with the rectangular clips, as many owners own one of the newer models with the new clip configuration. Thanks!
@phototristan Hi. Noticed it was 4 months with no reply. I have a friend who does it, but who knows if it makes much difference. It seems to make sense, like flipping your mattress though...

@gjswilson Many thanks! The music came with the Apple iLive package, so I can't say who made it..

Is it prudent to swap out the seat cushion for the ottoman cushion periodically or no? (They are interchangeable).

Question, are the cushions suppose to have zippers on them?
phototristan 1 year ago
@phototristan
Except the armrests they have. But you have to undo the cushion knob fixing before you can take them out!
