if youre worried about insurance i would go with a 1g Plymouth laser. it has same engine as an evo8/evo9. throw a big ported 16g turbo from a evo3 with supporting mods you're looking over 350awhp at say 14lbs. and thats not expensive turbo either, with a big fp or a nice holset you're capable of making any amount of power a evo8 could make, but cheaper to buy and cheaper insurance. you could also do an eagle talon which is same thing as laser but might be more cash.

Most cars that can push 1000hp the usual problem is getting the power to the ground.

if youre worried about insurance i would go with a 1g Plymouth laser. it has same engine as an evo8/evo9. throw a big ported 16g turbo from a evo3 with supporting mods you're looking over 350awhp at say 14lbs. and thats not expensive turbo either, with a big fp or a nice holset you're capable of making any amount of power a evo8 could make, but cheaper to buy and cheaper insurance. you could also do an eagle talon which is same thing as laser but might be more cash.

ahh the age old arguement of power vs torque, well power and torque are both very important to winning races. lets take a extreme spectrum and just say your car had 1000lb/ft of torque but 1hp, you wouldn't finish very fast would u, or if you had 1000hp but only 1lb/ft of torque, you car wouldn't accelerate very fast would it?. Most cars that can push 1000hp the usual problem is getting the power to the ground.

Rotarys are low on torque. They make good power modded but power sells cars torque wins races. Rotarys only real advantage is weight savings. But rotarys sound sweet perferal ported like a dragster idling and like a f1 car high rpm.

So whats that supposed to mean. Horsepower isn't everything. If that 2j with 5billion horsepower can't put it down to the floor. It's just as good as a civic with 300 hp. Plus Titian Motorsports made 2000+on a 2j 2 years ago. But they chose to run appox. 1500 on they're Copper race car. If it's just going to make other stuff break why in the world would you need more ? Sure sounds good. But if it's not thrust or a 18" wide tire. It's not going anywere(if nothing else is an issue).

That is somthing that can be of importance to a tuning shop (Would you trust/go to a regular shop to tune your car for 500bucks, or go to gas motorsports world record holders for your engine have tune for 1000bucks? most people would be willing to pay extra for that kind of extra experience)
