This apparently is Dan's Acoustic Warriors group, not the Hot Licks. I hadn't seen them before, and I won't mind if I don't see them again. Dan's very first Hot Licks group was the best of all. He needs the whole act around him to make his show, not just a rhythm section behind his vocals.
@Nthrwrld Thanks for the info on the group name. I don't know about the Hot Licks, but I recall the AW played two songs on this show. This song I thought was fantastic, and I didn't like the other one at all...
I saw Dan at the Paramount Theater in Austin when he let Mary Ann Price talk him into a reunion of all the original band members for one night only and around twenty years ago. I was in row 8 center in a packed house for the best concert experience of my entire life and I've had many hundreds before and since.
I didn't miss the singers. I forgot about 'em. That's sayin' a lot because I like the Licks. Hicks is no hick. That smooth croonin' irony. Steely Dan, meet Cheeky Dan.
@FlippyFloppinator Ten months and no comment, so it's about time, huh? No background singers? What? Dan Hicks without his Lickettes? That's part of his persona. But, hey, at least you're watching.

I saw this tour - Paul Milan on guitar. Very good band, possibly his best.

A perfect performance of a great song. I've seen him live twice, each was a brilliant show. Dan is the consummate live performer.
