I found it! THANK YOU for posting this! I remember when it was first broadcast. I went to see Rory live a few years ago, but ironically had forgotten that he was the one in this video, so when he played this song on stage I suddenly remembered seeing it on TV. Funny how passing time can screw with your head.

I remember this from the Alter Image prog in the eighties---he also did another vid on the same program---something about mrs beethoven where he played up to a gallery in a theatre----it was amazing----does anyone know the tune or better still,have a copy of the performance to upload----alter image was amazing---tons of incredible stuff---anyone got any of it taped?---i had the whole lot but lost the tapes!

I sawy this the first time in 89 or so, on Alive from Off Center - an alternative arts show on PBS hosted by Laurie Anderson. The chorus has always stuck with me these many years (especially "He Makes Two look Just Like Three - with the Jiggery Pokery") So wonderful to be able to find it again so easily. Thanks Rory - for being such a cool part of the zeitgeist.

I saw Rory at the Singers Club back in about 1980. I can't remember if it was once or twice, a long time ago. I do remember he was great. Ewan MacColl didn't seem very impressed but Peggy Seeger's reaction to "Shirl's Her Name" (I hope that's the right title) was very enthusiastic.

I saw Rory and Aimee outside the secondhand record shop in Galashiels :-) He's moved to Orkney now, much to our loss. He used to turn up unexpectedly at sessions and once we organised an open jam at Tibbie Shiels (pub 20 miles from anywhere) and Rory arrived with trombone and mates. No-one did much - we just listened!
