Very cool man. Looks deadly haha. You never know, maybe someone in NASA has watched this and just come up with his new design to show his boss! :) What version of Wherever I May Roam is this? Obviously live but what?
hydrogen carrier (hydrogen acceptor) A molecule that accepts hydrogen atoms or ions, becoming reduced in the process (see oxidation-reduction). The electron transport system, whose function is to generate energy in the form of ATP during respiration, including *NAD and *FAD which pass on the hydrogen (derived from the breakdown of glucose) to the next carrier in the chain.
May what a liar. If you were (as if) going Mach 8 the ground would be flying by and it would be a blur. Mach 8? In your dreams but DEFINITELY not in X-plane!
Cool design. Tapered ailerons might add a touchy roll effect. Nice wing surface area; short runways or low takeoff speeds. Wow, bet it wouldn't crab bad either. Pretty awesome; nice vid. Better looking than some of the essentially wingless hyper videos out there.
oh yeah mach 5 not mach 4.7 sorry, mach 4.7 was the speed that the plane could go before it started to say "overspeed" and mach 5 was it's real top speed
If someone saw the documentary about "area 51's secret hypersonic aircraft" then you might know that they calculated that the aircraft was traveling over the glode in Mach 8. 8000mph or more. 12,300km/h. It crossed america in under on hour or half an hour, cant remember.
@StvnBrkbck that is why it works and does not blow up during launch or reentry or just for fun or stupidity unlike the Space Shuttle program.. Ooo maybe that is the reason why nasa is retiring the space shuttle??? it should have looked like a volkwagen in the first place :)
i know that this is Metallica and i know the name of the song is where ever i may roam but is this like a remix or something because it sounds way better then the original
Would you really need to be stealthy at hypersonic speed? Besides, stealth is all about not being seen (subsonic flight mostly). Even though it would be a blur to the human eye, I would think a vehicle at hypersonic speed would be quite noticeable.
dude. a bomber doesn't need to go mach 7 to drop bombs. and yes it is scary to even think about it. but our bombers can fly up to the dge of the atmosphere..way beyond the reach of enemy radar. as long as bombers get the job done they don't need to go mach7 unless we want to just crater the entire area.....
if a bomber flies at mach seven it gonna be traveling a few miles a second so either the bomb release is automatic or you get someone that can release it in a few miliseconds.
Physics doesn't agree with you.. It has a sleder body meaning the frontal area is not that big meaning lower drag than fat body, meaning less power needed. Then again the slender shape makes supersonic flight possible. Even the airfoil of the wings is almost symetrical, optimized for high supersonic flight.
Oh by the way, how do you manruver outside of atmospheric control? Hyrogen peroxide thrusters? And is there any way you can put some kind of telemetry on the vid? I'd love to see some of it's performance across the flight profile. Anyway, thanks!
with the common household orbital manouvering thruster. I had one in my kitchen drawer.hehehe. you're right. i've installed a thermometer inside the cockpit. When i reach the higher mach numbers and keep going faster, the meters tell me it is hotter then hell outside.Probably the only material right now to survive the heat is graphite or diamond.. So there you have it the nosecone of the plane is made off composite materials with the outerskin made off graphite and is diamond tipped..i suppose!!
LOL How ingenious! I do know that the American SST had to be covered in titanium which handles heat well, but they still had to give it a drastic needle nose to limit aerodynamic friction and that was just mach3. So, graphite it is. Exellent.
I'm not sure about how X-plane handles this kind of thing, but I'm not sure thats a very good shape. The heat that would generate might require as yet unmade materials. Cool stuff, though. How much for an option to order two?
Why didn't you just make a waverider design? Those produce good L/D ratios at hypersonic speed, and you can fit droops or slats to the leading-edge so you can droop the elevons/flaperons and reduce the takeoff and landing speed.
X-plane dot org has a message board and they know all sorts of tips and tricks to do stuff like that. (I would write the URL, but you can't write URL's in You Tube)
well i didnt think that far cause my braincells where already hurting because i had to solve my problem with the pitchdown above mach .95 which was impossible to compensate. Not to mension the continius roll moment to the left.. also not to trim away...All caused by the airprofile and the shift of aerodynamic center to the aft due to supersonic flight
If the plane's exhaust is deflected down enough to produce such a nose down tendency that regardless of the control-surface deflection, it would nose over, the FBW wouldn't make a difference would it?
I thought the FBW just makes rapid adjustments to the control surfaces of a very tricky plane to keep the airplane controllable.
you're partially right.. FBW could also compensate certain effects like a huge roll moment caused by the loss off up to 30% of its effective wing area on one side.... Think about that..that would give a huge roll moment to wouldn't it???
this is the first intelligent question i received! You're correct i'm affraid. It is a design flaw possibly but this plane is fly by wire. with fly by wire even a piano can fly. So there is adequate pitch, roll and yaw control actively dampened...With the initial flights i had to determine stability constants in order to make this thing controleable.. i hoop this answers your question. thanks for your interrest
you're right i get to it rightaway... As soon as i finish my other designs, stop thinking about others and when i'm done with my movies i'll just stop giving attention to my family and i'll quit work too so i'll be able to do nothing else.... thanks dude!!!! Wow Mach 10 you must be genieus or something???
do you actually know what ramjets are????????! probably not that's why you just decided to put me down to make you feel smart and yes i can spell words that you've might never ever even heard of. so what i was a couple letters off big FUCKING deal
For the record, this is most likely scramjets if it's achieving speeds of Mach 8+. Ramjet was the logical follow to scramjet and is far slower by comparison. Just thought you might want to know.
but i thought that the scramjet and the ramjet were pretty much the same exept different models of the technology and nasa has also been able to reach mach15+ they say plus because they don't exactly how fast it can actually goes. and it takes 10 min to slow down to a stop. like the hyper-x project
Their Elevons not elevators. An elevator is a box which lifts people in a large building between floors. And all runways are 6000ft long MINIMUM! And if you haven't noticed the plane has 6 large turbojets. At the time he took off the plane was most likely traveling at, at least 150knots. RETARDS.
Anyways, mountainLeader001 its an awesome video! Nice Xplane video. How did you make the intro though?
I meant to say, that because the 'Elevators' are mounted on the wings, it becomes an Elevon assembly. An elevon is a combination of both the Aileron and Elevator'.
thanks dude.. it has elevators and ailerons unfortunately but they work together to compensate pitch loads dude to the motion off flaps... i guess we could call the ailerons flapperons or not???
I have a tip for you: Make it a waverider. look on Wikipedia to see what that is.

Dear All,
I have some question about psychology:
(1) Why do we love aspace travel?
(2) Why do we enjoy to design and to build new space craft?
(3) Why do we like to be "space tourist" for space holiday?
(4) What will be the most desirable design space craft in the coming future that will fit our life-style?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

Dear All,
I have some question about psychology and craetivity:
(1) Why do we love to day-dream about new aeroplanes in the future?
(2) How will be the motivation for flying in the future different from that at now? (eg. for school project, for shopping, or daily sport...etc)
(3) In you opinion, what will aeroplanes look like in the future?
(4) If flight simulator has program feature to dsign a new future aeroplanes, will it be attractive to players?
THANK YOU for answer!!! :)
