  • the futures video game is 2012

  • umm... still no virtual reality and it's like 20 years since they broadcasted this saying it would only be a year.

  • I know you sent me back to the future but I'm back from the future. They are all laughing at you!

  • (inhales) i love the Smell of the 80s and 90s

  • Cant wait...

  • somone should of told her that hair cut she has wont be part of the future lol.

  • I want to go back in time and show them The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

  • @gdsm93 less than 3 weeks. :D

  • only if they knew. only.

  • ironically future of gaming had nothing to do with arcade machine... they all disappeared

  • I can't believe no one noticed a Mega Man song at 4:03.

  • lmao

  • lol 15000 dollars u can get a 360 at good will now for 20 bucks what the hell has happened to technology

  • This video looks like it's from 1990 damn it looks very old

  • 3:40 That psychologist has a lot of lag.

  • @communistrecords hahaha that's true that man go like ehhhh... mmm... before say a single word. lol

  • 5 people were born in the 19th century

  • replace virtual reality with wii fit, and they nailed it

  • Holy shit! Where can we get these!?

  • its so funny to look this Today...

  • Virtual Reality Failed miserabley.

  • @Caseygarnerguitar I remember going to the mall when I was maybe 11 or 12, and I stumbled upon an arcade. But it wasnt any arcade. It was a VR arcade. Full of VR games. I walked in and was like WTF is all this? Played some of the games and even at that age, thought it was cool and different, but nothing amazing. Spent maybe 10 bucks, left, and never touched another VR anything again.

  • the lady laughed as she hit the crowd with the bike. and yet they are against videogame violence. how interesting...

  • Thumbs up if u typed "future of gaming graphics".

  • They used to have airbags wtf happend to that u want to get hit by that

  • wait... arcade?

  • oh my god so old! now 50/60 fps smooth 3d gameplay. =)

  • haha i swear i saw Rez.

  • *shed a single tear for the death of the arcade in the 2000s*

  • now we say rofl

  • if i had a time machine that could send a sentense back to them to summerize the future of gaming, it would be "tea-bagging doucheary".

  • and look what were doing now with PSN and xbox live...i mean cmon amazing graphics playing with someone on the other side of the world...:O

  • Does anyone know when this was broadcast?

  • Those Silicon Graphics demos look nearly better than the Wii. Goes to show you it's not all about graphics.

  • can that guy talk any slower?

  • holy smurf, ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!. 3D GAMING. NO FUCKING WAY!!! there is just NO WAY that could ever happen in the future.

  • 4:00 Crashman likes porn games? lol

  • Haha,

This is so funny for a couple of reasons

1:27 - clunky game cartridges have yet to be replaced (DS still uses them, I believe the 3DS will too)

CD-rom games of the time sucked, it would be another few years until the Play station and Saturn really made them work.

VR never did catch on and the arcades have all but disappeared.

  • @17R3W Cartridges are no longer current; the DS uses minuscule, wafer-thin flash cards. The cartridge era ended with the GBA.

  • @17R3W i wouldn't really call DS flash Carts clunky.

GameBoy ( Orig, Colour, Advance Etc) sure.. but not DS carts are quiet modern looking. probably what game carts would look like if PS2,PS3,360, etc would be using carts.

  • @NESHero

Yeah, I agree. The DS design is very slick.

I was just quoting them, but yea, compared to the sandwhich sized games of the SNES, and NES (and even the small genesis and N64 carts) the DS cards are very nice.

  • Virtua Racing was awesome. One of my fav games of all time.

  • Oh the 80's..... Lol

  • @badcompany32

This is 90's man :D Jurassic Park is there

  • Colossus at :57 "UUUUGGGHHHHH"

  • What is that motorcross game?

  • I bet this bitch would lose her panties if I brought back a copy of MW2.. "What is a Dee-Vee-Dee? Blue Ray gun disk? What is this blasphemy!"

  • "Imagine children playing on a very large screen" = Widescreen HDTV

"With a...all surround sound = Surround sound Stereo systems

  • @Starwind18020 LOL PC gamers are generally more mature than console gamers, and Crysis on a super high-end PC looks better than any console game to date, let alone a console game from 2006.

  • the reporter sounds like trisha talkonowa from family guy!

  • @xFIRERUSHx she does

  • Well, there's one thing that 90s gaming was capable of, and that was, plug in a video cable, plug in audio cables, and kill an entire afternoon or evening having fun.

We have to try a bit harder now.

  • WOW !! How futuristic..lol.

  • @Starwind18020 hahahahahahahaahahah.I'm not a cysis fan but god your dumb. graphics seen on the ps3 in 2006? lol far from it. ps3 can"t produce anything close to crysis.typical ps3 fanboy who doesn"t know jackshit about what he's talking about. get some knowledge dude.

  • Greed ruined video games, the PC end is dead and they've burned out the consoles with to many cheesey titles.

Instead of making great games over a lifetime they chose a route resulting in highly reguarded name brands gettting boycotted and eventually bought out, unfinished products that 4 or 5 patches couldn't get it right, MP systems vunerable to hackers, intrusive consumer hindering anti-piracy software and overhyped marketing/false positive reviews.

    Just to name a few.

  • @Omnl420 The PC is not dead.

  • @Aphradonis Um yeah dood. I posted this months ago and recently even game companies have stated they are scaling back PC titles and if you look at replayability the games are 2 to 3 hours( play time) compared to some older titles with almost endless replayability. Let alone a dying market. Gaming companies recently stated the hardware differences and OS problems are not worth the time or money compared to consoles.

  • i can't wait!!

  • when was this?

  • OMG the hair cuts the horror the horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahaha

  • Looking back on it, Virtual Reality was a stupid idea.

  • Sean Moore, great man who came up with the incredible moore's law.

  • lol all that they said on the video has been possible since 2002!

  • Have to admit though, watching this video of what they thought the future of gaming was, in what seems like 1993, sure gives me kicks.

It really takes you back these videos almost like a time capsule.

  • Gotta love the Mega Man music in the background of the porno game.

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Thats nice, check my profile for the new virtual game

  • That game with the dirt bikes I use to play ALL the time in the arcades.

  • lol "eh all surrounding eh around them sound" but, 20 years they will laugh at us "lol 5ghz overclocking? thats so old we got 20ghz but 20 years from now they will laugh at us"

  • we are laughing at them now, but in 20 years someone else will laugh at us.

  • Even then, Crysis is still very much to reality is you look on a scale from this vid to reality. (so maybe we are laughing harder now)

  • @fireboot1 In 20 years people will not know what the fuck a xbox is....Because augmented reality will be a hit

  • Okay, when you go back in time, don't bring your PS3s or Wiis or 360s . Show them this old video and the comments and let them think to themselfs what we are laughing about.

  • 02:32

    Women. They can't drive.

  • @Owneador1337 lol

  • Hash. Dude wearing glasses looks like Ashton Kutcher.

  • hahaha are they trying to say nentindo is in mexico

  • it is.........haha jk

  • God I miss the days when the deluxe Virtua Racing showed up to my favorite arcade hangout. The racing was intense while the seat would make air pressure noises when you turned the corners. Sega was fierce with the arcade simulations.

  • A cookie for those who know what the "Odissy" is. XD

  • truly amazing :O

  • mankind may not have flying cars by now but they definitely have movie quality video games!

  • LMFAO I love how they are hyping the Sega CD and all these failing video game concepts and systems. And buddy talking about going around the world, learning geography...OH GOD NO!!!! MARIO'S TIME MACHINE 64?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!~

  • When video games were challenging xD This vid. is awesome!

  • I recently broke out my SNES. It looks like it's ready to crack in half, the lower half has lost its color, and controller two has wires hanging out but it all still works and I still love a lot of those games more than what's out there now. I'm currently undefeated against all challengers at Madden '94 which is more than I can say for '09.

  • 4:00 - Crashman was here.

  • Wow!!!!! I bet i coulda sold my x-box360 elite for millions of dollars back then.

  • actually you would probaly be burned for being a witch if you sold your x360 20 years ago

  • Howard Lincoln is the man. ^^

  • Too bad the arcades died out.

  • they would have that vr stuff in arcades today if there were anymore arcades

  • why are people laughing about this video..? in a decade we'll all be laughing at todays technology.

I think the point is to try to enjoy what we have in the present and not to dream about the future so much-cause in the end, we'll never really have enjoyed what we have/had!

  • i want to see the future of gaming and even play them but the 80s and 90s i was born in 1997 BUT i love the good old classics like pac man and the G&W series!!

  • They were right about the Movie like

  • hahha thats one hell of a retrospective. a more mordern aproach to the future of gaming is a implant in the brain to simulate a virtual reality

  • oh wow a nintendo sounds cool i think i will trade in my xbox 360 for that this video looks pretty new

  • loool "High Tech" ^.^

  • LOL, very large screens, and sounds all around them!! SO FUNNY

  • lol, yeah I laughed at that point to.

  • i hate people talking about 'THE FUTURE OF GAMING'

Dont you like it FUCKIN NOW? (or in the 90's? - thats where i really enjoyed it)

Why is it neccessary to keep changing? corporates kill off the life of gaming, it started with the playstation, now Sega is dead, and they are now thinking about forgetting about cd's, dvd's and any data storage, just DOWNLOAD THE GAMES! If you dont want to own it in your hands, in a phisical form, your just a geek PC gamer with no life, fuck off the consoles!

  • Yes! you rock for saying that! games were much more fun back then.

  • I really hate the prospect of download only video games. I don't care whether it's a cartridge or a CD/DVD, I would rather have a solid copy of what I'm paying for. Plus, download only is limited to hard drive space and with hard copies of the games, you don't have to worry about that...

  • If you download a game and save it to a memory card or burn it to a CD. Then you would have a hard copy. Its just a mental thing you have to get over. What's the difference between buying a game on a memory device (Cartridge, CD) or Downloading a game and saving and, or burning it to a memory device?

  • when was this 1983 ???

  • im pretty sure AC slater dances to that first tune

  • I love technology it facinates me even seeing how fast its growing nowadays andi t only gets better imagine todays games being outdated by even better in just 10 years sure we think we are at the top now but I think althoguh graphics are so lifelike and realism is near its peak the only way from here on is up and just think of otehr technologies imagine one day when we can make spaceships capable of hundreds of thousands of MPH!!WOOHOO!!

  • The technological singularity approaches, question is, will humanity be able to survive it?

  • if they could suddenly be transport to our present, they would be shocked by our technology

  • "...If a movie does well, it is almost guaranteed to become a game..."

    They didn't know

    They just didn't know...

    *epic face palm*

  • looooooooool $15,000

  • lol, i can buy a sick pc of that!

  • yeah but if we didn't start from 2D and crappy graphics we wouldn't have gotten where we are today.

  • Hey, dip shit, this was years ago, dumb ass. And most of those cartridge games got better reviews than the shit that's coming out today, you closed minded piece of shit.

  • well the man was 100% right on video games becoming movies,, lets look at wall.e toy story ....

    evaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • The News Casters look like 8bit characters!!!LOL.

  • without these games they wouldnt be innovation nor there wouldn't be PS3 and Xbox 360 right now

  • I know, becuz in that time whe didnt knew better.. So thats why it sucks now lol! ^^..

  • "I dont think graphics like these are matched up, like the real Console gamers like PS3 and Xbox 360.."

WTF do you mean real console gamers? Are you saying people that owned the SNES, N64, and PS1 weren't real gamers? Stupid statement.

"I know, becuz in that time whe didnt knew better.. So thats why it sucks now "

What do you mean didn't know better? How could we get to the point we are today if THEY didn't know any better? You're not making any damn sense. THEY'RE why WE'RE here, idiot.

  • i would like to bring a ps3 15 years back...those people would be shocked

  • Now virtual reality is retro lol

  • LOL Silicon Graphics went bankrupt already

  • "Virtual reality will be out in a year."

    2008.

  • VIRTUAL BOY!!!!!!!

it sucked balls, but they considered it virtual reality....for some reason

  • flash forward to 14 or so years later, and there ARE NO ARCADES.

    yay futurism.

  • hi, What year was this?

    thanks.

  • this looks like 1994

  • its older its about '92.

  • NO WAY IT WILL NEVER BE THIS GOOD

    future shock FUTURE SHOCK!!

  • The graphics shown in that video are nothing compared to a game like Crysis running on a high-end GeForce 9800 GX2.

I don't get how people were amazed by such graphics back then in the 90s.

  • Simple: They were not. I played with the C32 and C64 in the 80ties, and most of the time the graphics were boring too me (though Wizzball and Nebulus were amazing) - it was the genius gameplay that was addicting. And that is lost with most of today's games who just rely on graphics and sound but whose gameplay is prehistoric.

  • StickyCheese2000 Duh! Because your are living in the 2008, but wait 20 years and then repeat yourself about what you said about how you were amazed by such old graphics, its called "evolution". Don't be such an arrogant.

  • because they played mostly 2d games at home and 2d games don't have the freedom of the 3rd dimension.

  • N64 was fun but the graphics shown in this werent even close. silicon graphics computers were like 15x as powerful and the graphics were 5x as good

  • lol one of the songs used was Crash Man from Megaman 2.

  • this sucks...
