Easy access to an Amtrak mainline, a short level run whose view isn't obscured by trees the whole trip, Amish countryside, RR Museum across the street, an easy drive from Philly / Wilmington urban jungle.... They've got a really sweet setup that's the envy of every tourist railroad in the country. Gotta love Strasburg RR. Thanks for posting the vid, very well done.
No it's not... the engine in the video is not strasburg 90, it's #31... Regardless of the "7312" on the numberplate.. haha, only kidding John.
Incase anyone didn't know, the reason that is so is because of a "break in" and where 2 guys stole #31's numberplate, so they gave 31 her old Canadian plate that read 7312...
Excellent video! One question - In the beginning you can clearly hear the radio transmissions - which I've never caught on tape - Did you have a scanner next to your camera or was it actually that loud from the cab of the engine?
Nope! I captured it right from ground level, no scanner next to me... The only radio was in the cab... I was surprised myself as to how well it picked up.
that bell could cause someone to kill themselves...

31 / 7312
9331
& Amtrak
are the only things on the strasburg I havn't seen. I hope they'll run here for the October trains now that she's done.

Why does #31 have the #7312 running board under the headlight, I know she was renumbered for a time, and I know that #89 was #911 for a time.
