In 1940s, british gave opium to Chinese, causing starvation and lost generation. By that time, China was so weak, then the dalai lama, one of the lamas in Tibet, betrayed his country and became british' puppet.
This dalai lama under british support, slaved Tibetian people, and tried to separate from China. So Mao ZeDong (the great China leader) sent troops to fight against british colonialism in Tibet and saved Tibetian from slavery by the dalai lama, british' puppet.

it matters not - Tibetans can worship, do koras, burn yak butter candles, and whatnot all they want. Just don't seek independence. We just want Tibet for resources and border security so that we can help Pakistan and keep those haughty Hindus in India in check. Otherwise, Tibetans can do whatever the heck they want - they can do nothing and beg, or go to university and become doctors and engineers.
