You cant just shift a prius into nuetral! Some people have claimed he was also pushing on the gas pedal. you can do that and push the brake pedal and emergency brake at same time. the famed prius news drive was deamed fake. the guy was broke and was going to loose his car and his house. how many problems have happend. almost 1 millions prius have been sold since 2000. and toyota sells about 8 million cars a year. so realistically 80 million cars have been sold and how many unintended accelerations.another thing this car has 110 hp. its been tested slamming the breaks will stop the car. even a 540 roush mustang with a pinned accelerator can be brought to a stop.

If anything, this fact alone gives credibility to the man's story--and the officer corroborated the fact that the car was accelerating while the brakes were on... Toyota is hiding something...

Too many fishy aspects in the Sikes Prius incident. Why did he decide to drive the Prius only hours after a major Toyota press conference? Why did Sikes ignore clear instructions to stop the car? Why did Sikes stall for time with the 911 operator...long enough for the news press to arrive ? I've seen many tests of full throttle input while trying to stop and the stock brakes were PLENTY capable of bringing the vehicles to a complete stop without harming the brakes at all.

some people say that the brakes just DON'T work, and the officer JUST said that he could smell them. therefore the brakes ARE working.

Even if the gas IS stuck, the brakes would bring it to a full stop just fine. therefore, this guy is a stupid dick and should have his license taken away.

These were: first of all, if you press the brakes and accelerator at the same time, the brakes will take over and the car will stop. Second of all, you can pop it into neutral. So this story is weird.
