Robert Stack was the voice of terror. Unsolved Mysteries seriously was far more eerie, and sometimes downright terrifying, than most bonafide horror movies. I LOVE this show.

I would be interested to know how Church feels about killing two people (nearly three) when he didn't seem to have a record for violence. Did he become unhinged or was he jealous? Is he sorry for what he did?

To be honest, I think the only things Church regrets are that Colleen didn't die and that he was (hopefully) caught. I doubt he's sorry for the physical and emotional pain and despair he put Colleen and everyone else he affected through. He seems psychopathic to me, and psychopaths have been proven to not experience emotions the way regular people do...

@Mileyangel321 Probably, but we're not told any details about how Church feels about his actions. The broadcast says he did it because he was becoming unhinged (the breakup and his parents' divorce), but I don't know if that is correct. I wonder if somebody has written a book on the case?

@Mileyangel321 I've been doing some hunting around on the net and came across an article that says Church has a bad temper. Interesting! Anyway, they decided seeking the death penalty was questionable because the defence would plead the emotional stresses he was under (as outlined in the broadcast) and had no prior record. How much that relates to why he did it and how he feels about it I don't know.

@Mileyangel321 No offense but your definition of "psychopathy" needs touching up lol. A psychopath feels emotions like any other person and even has a sense of what's right and what's wrong. After that it gets different. Because of values (or lack thereof), taught while grown up from somewhere, and sometimes due to other mental illnesses, psychopaths have different sets of morals. They feel, love, and hurt as we do, but they believe different things are right and wrong....continued in next post.

@TheMegaGirlX1 Whereas sociopaths do feel differently and often times, not at all. So if you caught someone cheating on you, but didn't kill them even though you're hurt, you're normal. If someone cheats on you and you decide it's perfectly within your rights to kill them because they hurt you, then you're psychopath. Either way you've still been hurt. Psychopaths feel emotions.
Sociopaths have no sense of justice...right or wrong....and sometimes they only emotion they have is joy...

I wondered how he went on with his life for 3 years working in a restaurant, never having another violent outburst. If the break up was so upsetting how was he able to go on without anyone in his life. Maybe it was more hatred because she left him. Just a thought.

@salemhodson I do have a fear of fire arms especially in the vicinity of children. The main reason is guns are just like combustible tools, matches and fire. Doesn't seem with complete training a person can control all four completely. Always eventually a mishap like army mines. Yes less than 3 secs is enough time to kill someone. I was told that the average human can run 21 feet in 1 second from a standstill and that most hand to hand combat ends within 5 seconds.

Robert Stack was the voice of terror. Unsolved Mysteries seriously was far more eerie, and sometimes downright terrifying, than most bonafide horror movies. I LOVE this show.
