  • Les Stroud is a real muthaphuckin G

  • is he always alone when he is doing his things ? cuz i dont undrestand how he can get alot of angles with the cameras ? ? im sure behind the cameras there is a big crew with all what he needs !!!! anyways , i think its fake when he says that he s always alone.

  • @hotguy6n9 there is an episode when he shows how he does all the camera angles, he walks a long way to get out of frame then he has to go all the way back to get the camera.

  • @MegaNick53 sometimes u can see him doing stuff from the air, sometimes he is very far from the camera, like he is leaving, and then u can see this guy talking to a camera ... anyways

  • 9 people did not survive for 7 days alone :)

  • they should of done an episode where he had to survive in east detroit for a week

  • which episode is where he catches the rattlesnake?

  • @lmac7633 Georgia swamp

  • Bear has an rv to stay in when he makes his videos. He still knows how to survive though.I respect anyone that can live off the land.

  • I miss this shoe:(

  • Like Man Vs Wild? Stop by and watch Manley Vs. Wild for a outdoor educational experience with a funny twist. Stop by and watch the videos, like them, and share them!

  • I was holding my breath while he ate that berry and was just waiting for him to go: you know often the locals will bri- OH MAN!! #%@$!!!

  • is it true that if an animal is killed and had fear it will become poisonous and get hard meat?

  • @TheRogueMonk No where did you hear that?

  • @jpmac098 some pepople say that... also on google.. but i dont want tobelieve it..because then it would be poisonous for all animals .. then how could they hunt? .. it does soud like superstition

  • @TheRogueMonk The Hell are you talking about? Animals generally aren't poisonous... You're not making sense and clearly don't know anything about the subject.

  • @jpmac098 NO I DIDNT SAY THAT .. you missunderstood... i said there is words that people claim animals can become posonous and hard.. like sheep and cow.. if they are afraid prior to sloughtering.. i am not agreeing with it but i am not very sure about it . .but it sounds ignorant.

  • @TheRogueMonk No it's simply not true. It would physically make no sense if the animal became poisonous if it was afraid. You obviously don't even understand basic biology if you are at all suspicious about this. That's all I'm saying.

  • @jpmac098 okay explain to me basic biology.. why cant it be a safe deffence mechanism for the animal to poison itself t die ? instead of being killed?

but i did say i thik is something wrong with all that.

  • @TheRogueMonk I can't explain it to you in a simple Youtube comment. It's not "why can't it be a safe defence mechanism" it just is not a defence mechanism. It's like asking why can't humans grow wings and fly when they're scared? It's a question a 5 year old would ask. Where would it make the poison huh? How bout a sheep. They do NOT have any organ that would allow them to make the poison, period. Their meat couldn't "harden" because they would have nothing to harden it with.

  • @jpmac098 i agree.. do a youtube search and you will find it soomehwere

  • @jpmac098 that superstition applies with wild boar, because some boar, the meat is nasty.(depends on what they eat). Some people believed that it was because they scared the boar ,and the rush of adrenaline made the meat bad. Its not "poisonous" but if you cook the meat it smells like pee. You cant eat it. Its a superstition. Because the reason behind it was not understood.

  • @manostihl Yes, true, but this guy is saying that it is possible and might be true.

  • There should be a game about Survivorman!

  • @MrLuminescent no, that would be like Sims lol

  • I tried to survive here, but I got blown up by a Creeper at nighttime

  • les is a boss..the only problem with these shows are that when they get into specifics, like "oh this plant is nutritious and edible" or "be careful not to eat this leaf, it is deadly", how the fuck do they expect us to know that

  • @PinStripes41 They are telling us so we know that...

  • its 2 similar shows with totally different views yet so many people thinks both are about surviving. i mean it is about surviving, but in diferent ways. so why dont u just stfu and watch the show cuz u know u cant do it anywhere close to how they portray it. bear seems a better hunter cuz they provide it so u can get an idea if u ever do catch it, les doesnt seem as good of a hunter cuz he has no choice but to face reality of nature. if not supplied bear would be the same.

  • this comment is to all u smart ass. the shows arent about who is better in the tv series. i bet all u dumb heads after all has been said and done, bear and les both has the same amount of knowledge. and if u just listen to the show when it start u wouldnt think about being a hypocrit. one show teaches you how to survive and one teaches u how to get the fuck out. les clearly says he wil show u how to survive if u get into similar circumstance. and bear gryles says he will teach you how to get out

  • Not about who's better, Bear or Les. More about what show is better at presenting actual surviving. Bear Grylls is a great survivor but the way that the show is presenting it self is a little bit extreme and hollywoodish.

  • les walking through arizona until suddenly a barefoot cody appears.

  • @TheMrAmfortas That's funny, I was thinking the same thing.

  • Les is really good at this, as well as bear. To say Les is 50 he does amazing bear is just like a wilder and younger version of Les. :D

  • you also have to take into account his knowlege of what you can eat, some stuff is pioson and deadly. Preperation also plays a big part, then it's just backwoods camping from there. Les Stroud is unlikely to starve loose weight yes, but die of starvation unlikely. Les is better the CN

  • A Canadian in the Arizona Desert... ouch xD

  • I (and my outdoor adventures) were once compared to this guy... I was never in my life more offended.

SurvivorMan, you're schtict might fly in Australia, but never here in AZ. You stay home, and I'll do the same =)

  • I'm a huge fan of him :D that is why learning to survive is important :)

  • Could have used the battery and gasoline to make a fire. Didn't have to freeze the first night.

  • @tbskms it may not have had usable battery and/or gasoline, that bike was an old piece of junk

  • Comment removed

  • Why was the show canceled?

  • @WWF4everRocks It just ran it's course, man. Where else was he going to go? He's been on at least 4 continents, in every environment known to man except maybe cloud forest. You can only do so many episodes of a show before you run out of things to film.

  • i like this show i saw this the otherday buy I like Bear grylls better but its still a good show

  • @KellerDude4 Also the air is so dry that it doesn't hold any heat.

  • I'm done with this BS.

  • We all know the bike running out of gas is fake.

  • Why do it in a desert?

  • I live in Phoenix, Arizona. I could be wrong, but it appears Les was in the Sonoran desert during the winter, in which case the highs will be at best moderate—he said 80s (90s probably for effect)? And the nights definitely could get down to around freezing. I imagine the cold is more the issue in this situation. Hot or cold, there is little humidity/moisture at least. Those who live in urban areas of AZ, the residual heat from the concrete jungle maintains temperatures throughout the night.

  • bear girylls suck!

  • that poor honda trail 90

  • which one does he eat an ostrich egg?

  • @FroggerFilm Your that stupid?

  • @backuganhelper didnt know it was this one.

  • @FroggerFilm

    Kalahari desert, from season 2.

  • i hope les decides to do an anniverserary episode

  • it does not get cold at night in arizona iv lived here my whole life

  • At 4:20 i decided to stop watching and write this comment, just doesnt seem my kinda thing. A typical afternoon biker wouldnt bring a hiking bag with waterproof jackets and woolie hats and a sleeping bad into the Arizona desert unless he planned on camping. A typical afternoon biker would have a small shoulder bag, a helmet, a bottle of water, maybe a compass and a cellphone. So considering what this guy has, its just not realistically how most people would be stuck in a survival situation.

  • @DarthScosha Why didn't you stop watching and shut up. How do you know what a biker would bring, people are different.

  • @okfire65 Do you ready, i clearly said "at 4.20 i decided to stop watching" OMG !!

  • there is a bird in the background you hear all through this program, anybody know what kind it is?

  • i was in the sonoran desert last month, and while its amazing during the day, the darkness and wide open space at night frightens me. similar to the ocean at night. its just such a vast darkness.

other than that, the desert is fucking awesome!

i also flew over this desert for more than an hour, it is huge!

  • Why does it get so cold at night?

  • @KellerDude4 there are no trees to stop trap the heat add to it the fact that it's almost always clear sky's (heat is not reflected and quickly goes into space).

  • @Dafidd if u go to phoenix its 90 at night 115 at day and right in the desert below it 80 at night 117 at day

  • @KellerDude4 The same reason it's really cold on the moon (when the sun isn't roasting it). A lack of atmospheric interference with solar radiation - lack of moisture in the air (water vapor in the air retains heat at night, and clouds can reflect heat radiated from the earth), all that good stuff.

  • @KellerDude4 also sand does not retain heat nearly as much as rock. That's why it's so important to find a rock near by to sleep against or lye down on. hope that helps man

  • Water vapour a is powerful absorber of heat and more humid the air is, more heat it can absorb and keep. we all know the desert is as dry as a bone so when there is no sun at night, all the heat just literally goes up into the air, not even clouds reflecting it back, so until the sun shines again and heets up all the rock and the sand. it just gets colder and colder. they say the most miserable time to stand on watch is the hour before the dawn, and there is good reason for that.

  • thats right Cody! Les took a dump in your backyard! xD

  • If i was out there alone and i heard that howl out of no where at 3:53 I would be scared as fuck

  • i think he should have taken the tires off the bike because he can set them alight. which will create thick black smoke which can be very good to spot from the air

  • Les stroud kiccs ass!!

  • This guy is 100x better then ultiamte survivel becauze this guy is alone

  • i subscribed bro thanks for the vids

  • Erm, what's is name? I just call em' by survivor man

  • love this show...

  • To the people who say they live in Arizona and he's exaggerating - /unless/ you've been stranded in the Sonoran desert /without/ food, water, are were surrounded by animals that are not used to having humans around, shut up. Okay? Okay. There's a difference.

  • hey haters... when ur ass gets lost or somthing and ur freezing cold ur gona wish you knew how to make a fire outa a soda can!

  • Talk about exaggerating big time, havalina dont attack people LMAO, gimme a fucking break, i lived in Arizona for years and used to feed the havalina, in fact i almost fed them by hand but wasnt gonna be that stupid but as far as attacking man........BULLSHIT !!!!!!!!! only unless you corner them and attack first.

  • My parent always say, "buy a home son, buy a home." I said, Forget that!! I'm building a shelter out in the Arizona Desert!

  • @DrinkElectrolytes O.O i use them to fall asleep too!

  • Les finds himself alone in these situations, he not only uses common sense but he takes care of himself...you dont want to get injured while stranded or lost...while Bear is just drama and he has a crew member with him at all times which helps him in situations. I like Bear dont get me wrong just dont say hes better then Les. :)

  • If it gets freezing at night the hottest its gonna get is low 70's, and thats in an extreme case. Put this guy out there middle of summer when the temperature range is about 85 early morning to 115 late afternoon he would have to work alot harder to survive his 7 days.. thats a show i would watch delerious by the 4th day and an emergency rescue cuz he couldnt hack 7 days of beautiful arizona desert

  • @dataq0111 100% right. you should show your adventures on YT. What does Les know about survival? He doesn't even drink his pee. Everybody who knows a thing about anything knows you gots to drink yer pee. You gotta wonder...

  • @SpartanJohns Lolx

  • Yes Les, with the exception that Mexico is not in Central America.

  • @FractalBolt At what point did he say Mexico was in Central America?

  • FUCK YES ARIZONA

  • @tommyhf9999 SQUARE miles, as in, 316 miles x 316 miles

    Get your math right.

  • "I go out into the wild with nothing but my bare hands...my sharp wits, this motorcycle...half a gallon of water...and alot of other shit that someone stranded in the wild would probably most likely never have.."

  • @Sigmafy 1. In a desert, a half gallon of water is hardly any. 2. People like to romanticize survival into something like starting out naked with nothing but a pocket knife, lashing it to a branch and bringing down a bear, eating the meat and making a robe with its hide then walking 2000 miles to safety. In REALITY the chances of being stranded with absolutely nothing are astronomically low. S-man is about as close to a simulation of your average survival situation as we're likely to see on TV.

  • one thing is survival AND other thing is ur fuckin idiots stupidity, like that fuckin asian fuck, he is a real fuckin dumb ass. man vs dude stupid ass.

  • one thing is survival AND other thing is ur fuckin idiots stupidity, like that fuckin asian fuck, he is a real fuckin dumb ass.

  • Les... Bear... Cody and Dave... doesn't matter which you prefer as long as you learn something useful. These guys ALL do their part to teach us things that WE (as modern humans) have forgotten. Kudos to them all! Life is way too short to hate on these guys. Thanks for posting the vids!

  • @miznice1 Couldn't have said it better myself my friend

  • @miznice1 its a shame how far we've distant ourselves from nature. technology is the devil!

  • @miznice1 ... agreed. I am a fan of les, bear, Cody and Dave, Mykel and Ruth.. Cody Lundin is the primitive fire guru!!

  • @miznice1 : well said. I agree.

  • @miznice1 Couldn't agree more, friend.

  • is it me or am I the only one that thinks they should have no used a Classic dirt bike for this?

  • 1 person died in the desert

  • @geekyfreak45 Makes no sense. Unfunny.

  • @itzblakreign

you've been on the internet waaay to much dude

just because somebody states their opinion does not make them a troll. Infact, you seem like the troll here

  • hmm survivor man seems way too boring compared to man vs wild/born survivor

  • If you like bear then watch bear

If you like this guy then watch him

personally i prefere bear but i don't dis this guy just cause my opinion is different to others.

However at the beginning of this he says he is by himself but the camera's move to follow him near the start.

  • @mawhinney1374

the camera moves to follow him at the start because he doesnt always start by himself

he even says the "crew leaves me with a broken motor bike"

  • I bet if you were in the Amazon and with Bear you would cry like a bitch and say "What do we do now Bear"...and he would get you out of the jungle.

  • @agenthelios1 Bear is good at drama but in all honesty I doubt he knows more about actual survival than Les

People have this perception of surviving almost like it is something to be sought after or to show how manly you are. Look at the catalog of *actual* survival experiences and you will see that people almost never survive by sucking blood from carcasses or drinking their urine. They are moderately knowledgeable people who stave off death until help arrives which is exactly what LS portrays.

  • @ShawDAMAN this guy is always on the verge of death when he finally gets picked up.it doesnt show u how to survive at all. he always does things u should not do in a stranded situation like eating snow jumping in water with all your clothes etc etc.u do what he does and have no crew to pick u up u will die

  • @mrpapafunky7879 He's not on the verge of death lol. In all honesty he probably exaggerates his condition at least a little to add drama. I'm not a *huge* Les fan but I maintain that generally speaking, what he portrays is pretty close to typical survival situations and he shows how to utilize whatever materials you might be expected to have with you like cameras, parachutes etc. Bear also does things that probably aren't the wisest, even Ray sometimes, take them for what they're worth.

  • @ShawDAMAN Bear goes out for about 3 days with a camera crew. Les goes 7 days with no camera crew and just an emergency phone. Bear is only better at catching food, if Les were to really practice that and bone up on traps, etc.. I think he would be better. I do agree he is the real deal though.

  • @terrellma bear goes 6 days with a crew, the crew is not staying with him at ngiht and bear only stays over night in the terrain when its also shown in the episode.

bear is not good at making traps. most of those "wild" animals are put into scene. often hell say soemthing like "my trap didnt work, but just around the corner i found a pork being trap into this wire". also he lets (and this is seriously fucked up) most parts of the killed animals go to waste. thats a nogo for every bushcrafter.

  • @TheMrAmfortas not only that but i remember watching him like climb up the side of a cliff and jump a small gap on the face of the cliff to get to a ravens nest to eat the eggs.

why would you risk your life for a nest that may or may not have eggs, and if it does have eggs, they may or may not give you food poisoning?

  • @ShawDAMAN You know, Bear Gryllz served in the SAS and those guys learn from people who live in extreme survival places and know everything about it. There is no question who has more skills...he is just on a level where it's hard to explain and show basics. The first thing you learn in the unit is watch and shut up anyway :). Soak it up. Who dares wins. If you click on my channel, in the first video is a russian paraglider colliding with an eagle (turn on captions, you'll laugh).

  • @tommyhf9999 Goddamn, you should seriously go back to school and learn some basic math, like square calculations... epic fail.

  • awsome

  • Also in the Amazon he wasnt even sure if he could eat a caterpillar. Bear Grylls knows if it is poisounous or not. This guy doesnt even know.

I would love to kick this guys ass on national TV so everyone can know he is a sissy bitch!

  • @agenthelios1 Not to mention that Bear Grylls has a crew he can consult.

  • @rlim6 Bear Grylls crosses canyons and jumps from helicopters and planes, he climbs sheer cliffs.

He throws himself in an icey crevasse just to show you how to get out. He is the real deal. This Les guy just drinks sodas and cant even catcha fish. Look at the Amazon episode, he swings a machete like a sissy. Bear's crew does more dangerous stuff than les(the faggot). Bear is on a completely different level.

  • @agenthelios1 Ok then, why are you watching survivorman? Please fuck off unless you intend to have positive or constructive input.

  • @agenthelios1 agreed

  • @Fight4Anarchy Finally someone else who sees Les or the mommas boy sissy he truly is.

  • @agenthelios1 im definitly with you man... this les queer is just really boring to watch!

  • Survivor man is a wannabe Bear Grylls. All this guy does is sit and bitch for 7 days about bugs. When he was in Amazon he brought some damn Coca Cola with him and some chips. He also only goes about 15 minute walk from his ride-out.

They guy is basically a dumb shit camper not a SURVIVOR.

Whats next will he take marshmallows. The guy sis a total faggot!

  • Lol, most people dont realize the Sonora desert reaches into Mexico and isnt only in the US.... Only the Northern part of the Sonora is in the California and Arizona.

  • Some of you guys don't have a clue what you are talking about. This guy is extremely smart and wise about how to survive. Put yourself into his situation, and we'll see who does better.

  • He has gotta have the hardest job, even if there is a camera crew with him. He's still in the dessert, the camera shots prove it all

  • @tommyhf9999 Do you not know what "square miles" means?

  • Have you ever taken math before?

  • That bike isn't a piece of junk, it's a Honda ct125.

Those things almost never break down, and if they do, you can get 'em running again in less than in hour, in almost any situation.

    Incredibly reliable machines.

  • @the2crowrox I don`t think that was the point ;)

  • @lkpo14 He and his wife once spent a year in the wild with nothing but a hatchet.

  • for some reason i see "survivorman" like "soviviorman" but when i look at it again its "survivorman"

  • where is the tank at that harley ?

  • Les Stroud is a badass

  • @ 5:01.... move the bike (and yourself of course) into a shaded area. It will be a little bit cooler....

  • @tommyhf9999 Square miles dude. That's x multiplied by y. If it were a perfectly square area of land it would only be about 315 miles on each axis, roughly. Now, if a train leaves Arizona at 3pm heading east and a car leaves New York... blah blah blah. LOL

  • They took the good one, because they know les is going to destroy it ...

  • I love Arizona.

  • very great videos..two thumbs up!

  • I live in az* I will say, I hike allot in the desert in the middle of knowplace, gets scary at times. Rattle snakes dont always rattle, scorpions are brutal.

  • In tucson we rarely if ever have frost at night and 80 degree temps in the day. I think max we would look at sixties or seventies. Still like the vid

  • @tommyhf9999 /facepalm

  • @tommyhf9999 - It's actually closer to 120,000 sq mi and that means it's only got to be 400 miles long by 300 miles wide. So Tommy, I think the only "epic fail" here is your math grade.

  • Les is sooooo much better than bear... Not tht I don't like bear... Just tht Les isn't fake

  • I think he's got some good ideas/tips but he never really leaves North America and his survival scenarios are a little bit too convenient. I'd prefer to hear the advice and skills without all the false drama.

  • @domc1804 I am pretty sure he went some other places. You just have to watch the episodes. I know he went to south america and africa.

  • the christmas choya, he could just let the glochids singe off over a fire and that would be fine. that was one of the native methods for them.

  • he's lying! he has a coat.

  • ummm, theres a difference between square miles and linear miles. 100,000 sq. miles is (if the desert is a square) about 10,000 miles across. my god

  • The square root of 100,000 is 316.23 (or 316.23 miles across) 316.23 x 316.23 = 100,000. I think Les is correct because 10,000 x 10,000 = 100,000,000

  • Considering that the entire United States is less than 3500 miles from coast to coast at its widest, Im pretty sure the answer its more like +/- 300 miles a side for a 10,000 square miles area.

  • I would love to camp at his spot in the last days next to that creek... What a sweet spot.. Out of all his shows, this one was my favorite.. just because of that campsite.. I've tried to look up the exact location hoping it was a park... couldn't find it.. must have been private property.

  • i dunno. i think the best place he camped was in the north part of southern africa. i would like to try there before any desert

  • i love this episode because the location (the area) is similar to the nature reserve I live next to. you could look it up. the area where I live is called coyote hills. the nature preserve (they're opening it up unfortunately) is Robert E. Ward Nature Preserve

  • @gokucrazy22 - Thanks.... It just looks so sweet... I grew up at the base of the hillcountry near San Antonio and we used to camp in dry creek beds and maybe this episode just takes me back to my days as a kid or something... just looks like a great spot of land to hang out at and relax at... I'll look up the Nature Preserve..Thanks again

  • Who fucking gives if it's 50,000 miles or over 9000 miles. Shit man, it's a fucking show, enjoy it or don't watch.

  • ahman to that.

  • @Ghost1170 its over 9000!!!!!!
