  • frank zappa and the mothers were at the best place around

  • I love Zappa and have seen him three times. But is it me, it must be, but why do I feel like he thinks he's better than you?

  • NMB is not for me, so much. I thought Eddie Jobson was better :)

  • great(est)

  • great video

  • Zappa plays with the french violinist Jean-Luc Ponty.

  • Yep, Frank employed Jean-Luc for many years. Then Jean-Luc demanded more and Frank said, "hit the road". To be honest, Jean-Luc's replacement offered far more. I couldn't imagine what 'Inca Roads' or 'Florentine Pogen' would have been like without Napoleon Murphy Brock; a fine replacement for Jean-Luc Ponty.

  • @jaffijoe Strange. Jean-Luc was a VERY big deal with or without Frank (a MUCH bigger hero of mine, by the way). Ponty didn't need Frank's fucking employment even in the slightest and I cannot imagine where you got such a version of this history. JLP was the classical/jazz/rock superstar of his era and Naolean M. B. is STILL a nobody except as a Zappa-teer. Lesson over.
