Nope, these deformed dogs were produced by silly people who altered the original English Bulldog to these health problem ridden dogs. They get hip problems frequently and have a number of disease that they are prone to. Sloppy, drooly, huffing dogs are of course cute but this breed suffers at the hands of people. This is not the way dogs were meant to look.

These dogs are some of the most unhealthy dogs in the world because of their build and the way people tend to own them (over feeding etc.) I love all dogs but it saddens me to see dogs suffer because of peoples mutations. Do some studies on this dog and you'll see how people have ruined them.

@herbg2727 actually there is really no money in breeding dogs if you think about it especially with bulldogs. One you factor in the cost of a stud fee(if applicable), the cost of the vet visits for the dam and puppies, the shots/vaccines, food, not to mention most if not all bulldog litters are born by cesarean because the puppies have such a broad skull it is hard for them to pass through the birth canal, and with all that added up you barely make any profit.

Yes, it's one of the medical issues they tend to have. Don't let that disuade you from getting one, though! It's just something that has to be watched. Their wrinkles in their faces and tail have to be cleaned every day so they don't get dirty and infected. All of this aside, they're worth it all.
