  • What's the head-speed? Sounds a bit slow - under 1700?

Sounds like you also have a warped delrin crown-gear. Very common - Century has never seemed to be able to get these consistently accurate. I usually have to shim mine.

  • @KDanagger G'day mate, thanks for taking the time to comment on my video. I totally agree with you. The head speed is too slow for a machine of that weight and size. I need to up the teeth on the pinion gear. I still have the heli, but I haven't flown it for quite some time. I just built it for fun and to challenge myself. I take it to my engineering class and challenge my students to build something out of the ordinary. Cheers, Aaron (Australia)

  • @denzel387 Hi Denzel, nice to hear from you mate. Sorry to hear that you're selling your fire truck. Hey thanks for offering it to me, but I must decline as RC cars really aren't my thing. Why don't you try selling it on eBay? Cheers, Aaron

  • @denzel387 Sorry Denzel, I'm not selling my RC helicopters at the moment. However, if I do I will definately contact you. Cheers, Aaron

  • Thanks for the interesting video. I have a Predator with the Zenoah G231 two strokeengine that ends up having a pretty good power to weight ratio, but the G231 is a lot lighter then the Honda 4 stroke. With a better gear ratio you could get the blade speed up a little more and get better flight performance, I am sure. But that thing sure does sound sweet. I would love to see the Predator set up with the much lighter Saito 30 four stoke gasoline engine.

  • @Luvhelis Hi and thank you for taking the time to comment. I agree with you. The Zenoah engine is a little power house. I have a zenoah puh26 in a minature aircraft spectra-g. It is an awesome machine with plenty of power on tap. I intend to do another video soon of the predator 4 stroke gasser soon. I need to change the carburettor as the one I have is for the American market and cannot be adjusted. Happy flying. Cheers, Aaron.

  • Hello it’s nice to hear from you again. Aren’t YouTube and the internet a fantastic? Where else can two aero modellers communicate with each other over 13,000km apart? Thanks again for you nice comments and words of encouragement. I haven’t done much with the Honda Predator of late. Except for installing a Futaba gv1 and Align BEC / Lipo combination. I also need to replace the carburettor to an adjustable one. Cheers, Aaron (Melbourne, Australia).

  • Hi Aaron. You have a nice workshop and tools. I hope you improve your four-stroke kit conversion for RC helicopters. If the Honda engine in not powerful enoug you can try a bigger four-stroke engine (Hondas are very good but I never installed one). For my personal taste the best one is the Zehoan 26 BH Hanson modified, plus a Hatori tuned muffler. The Zenoah 26 is lightweight and powerful enough for Predatos and Bergens. Keep the good job and greetings from Perú.

  • Hi Aaron, nice job! Unfortunately you are not thinking about selling your conversion kit.

  • @Flight1142 Hi mate. I would sell this as a kit, but it's not good enough yet as I still have more work fine tuning etc... I checked out your youtube videos, man you've got some nice choppers. Cheers, Aaron (Australia).

  • what is your email address?

  • @slipnot70 Hi again. I have sent you a message to your youtube inbox with my email address. Cheers, Aaron.

  • hi I am working on the same project. I am always looking for ways to get more flight time and more payload. I was worried about the power output of the honda 31cc and i was considering the gx35cc but its still a bit shy. I was surprised someone else is a bored as me. LOL Do you thing you can get a 5-8 lb payload with the power its putting out. How are the flight times looking as well.

    Dont crash it

  • @slipnot70 Hi & thanks for commenting. Sorry for not replying sooner, but I've been busy. Yes I agree, I was bored when I built this :). I wasn't the first one to do this, as I saw another on YouTube. Since mine another YouTube user from the Netherelands has also started (tmdrtn). However, I'm not sure how much this big heli would lift. It is way underpowered as my 26cc Spectra G easily out performs it. Please email me if you require further details (pics etc...). Cheers, Aaron.

  • Hey aaron! Yes im interested in getting a 90 size gasser.I like the sound of the honda motor in yours.

  • @lmolinajr

Hi again. Yes I agree, the big gasser does have a nice sound. Hey, do you have access to a metal lathe and cnc milling machine? If so can you send me you email address to my youtube account and we can discuss it further. All the best. Aaron.

  • Hey you selling this as a kit?

  • @lmolinajr

Hi and thanks for the comment. I'm sorry but I'm not selling it as a kit. The big heli can fly, but like I said before is a little under powered. It really needs a the gear ratio changed (main & pinion) to suit the 4 stroke engine. I'm currently running the gas (zenoah) gears. Were you interested in getting into a four stroke gasser? Cheers, Aaron.

  • @lmolinajr x2

  • It's so quiet compared to my 2-stroker :)

  • @broggyr Hi Mate and thanks for watching. Glad you liked the sound of my "lazy gasser". It has no where near the power of my MA Spectra-G, but it was personal challenge of mine to build it. Hey I've got a couple of questions for you if your don't mind. How long have you had your MA gasser for? Is that Harley a road king? Cheers, Aaron (Australia).

  • @DCTTeacher1 Sorry I never got back to you, this is the first time I checked my YT messages lol

I have had my gasser since September of 2009 purchased used. I still don't know how to fly it. It's pretty intimidating when you have over $1200 in the air :)

And my bike is no Harley, It's a Honda GoldWing

  • HI, nice job. What's it like for power reserves? Lift a decent camera rig? What size fuel tank/flight time have you got?

  • @TheTui21

Hey thanks for posting a comment. The big heli is a little down on power compared to my Spectra-G gasser. Because it's so heavy it doesn't respond like an electric or nitro, therefore you really must fly it and be prepared to feed the power on early. Good question, I'm not sure how much it would lift. However, the rotor head speed is a tad low and to increase it would involve making custom main & pinion gears. Currently I'm not tooled up for that. Cheers, Aaron.

  • i know a lot's about rc helicopter's

  • @denzel387

Good to know Denzel387. What kind of RC Heli's do you own and fly?

  • Hello Aaron,

I'm impressed with your conversion and would like to know more details about it, would you like to share photo's, or perhaps drawings of the parts you fabricated?

I'm flying a Hirobo Lama 30 and a Vario Benzin trainer, besides this I have a new Honda GX 31 from a WX1o waterpump lying that I would like to get flying in a helicopter. i would like to know more about your conversion and perhaps get into a predator conversion myself. Best regards, Tom (Netherlands, Europe)

  • @tmdrtn

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for the positive feedback and thanks for taking the time to post a comment. It's great to hear from someone from the other side of the world. Always happy to share pictures and advice with a fellow helicopter enthusiast. I will contact you via YouTube email and give you my proper email address.

    Kind regards, Aaron

  • Very Very good conversion you did there!

  • @mikeyyycipriani

Hi and thank you for your comment. That was very kind of you and it's much appreciated. I still have some bugs to iron out of it, but it's 95% complete. Will post a better soon. All the best. Aaron (Australia)

  • What a beast, great job :D

  • @wbroz

Hey good to hear from you again. Thanks for your support. This helicopter is massive as its rotor diameter is 1600mm. It reminds me of that Duece Bigalow Movie, "that's a huge bit*h'!

  • great video keep em coming

  • @cjgaus

Hi and thanks for your comment. I will try to keep my little iPhone busy and keep on filming. Cheers, Aaron.
