Toughie to sing, solid effort though man.
I wouldn't bother trying to sing the octave shifts in the verses, just keep the pitch at whatever suits you.

just like the guy above said, amazing cover, but just chose the pitch that suits you the best, you can still sound like chris cornell with a lower tone.
