I see what you mean about the Chalden mural. It is wonderful to see someone else inspired by the same places as me. The poem is a joy to read especially since I know Happy Valley. You write here in such a way that anyone reading it can follow you through the fields and over the stiles, and simply enjoy the experience with you. Beautiful.
good stuff as usual chas , i am delighted to have known your brilliant desciptive poems, the mural looks great too, as a youngster i never really apreciated things like art and poetry , but as an adult , i'm glad i have
Lovely. This is the very beauty which inspires our souls, and there is scarce more beautiful than enjoying these things with one we love. In all the hustle and bustle of modernism, man false to "stope and smell the roses." Thank you for this lovely poem, so full and charming. The music is very "pastoral" if you will, befitting for the English countryside. Has the countryside changed since the time of the walk a lot? I know it likely changed some, but I fear urband sprawl--I hate to lose beauty.
Dear B. I think it will have changed, haven't been there for many years, but I imagine it is protected to a certain extent. Thanks for your understanding comments. C.
I am honored to be privy to such a beautiful memory, Charles. The poem and photos were perfect, and I thought the music was whimsical! And, a trivial aside-- I love the way you pronounce 'squirrels'. xoxo
This is where you shine brightly Chas, if I may point to-the area and aura that has surrounded you and your experience and your poetry. Everything else that you collect and collate adds to the flavour and personable experience which brings all of your art to fulfilment. Your poetry is a beautiful experience. Thank you for your Video.
Thanks P. I try to keep all my life within 'the magic circle' of protecting & nourishing art and love. (Hope that doesn't sound pretentious!) Regards, C.
My latest posting led me back to this exquisite poem of yours, Chaldon and Delius, your words and pictures touch the heart of this chap in exile.

Thanks Andrew, I thought this might appeal. I think the mural is about the only one of its kind in this country to escape the Roundheads!

Yes, well in any case, even if nature fades at least your love has not. That is a signifigant accomplishment in today's fickle world.

Hi Charles. Finally got to listen! Nice poem, just not sure that the background music matched. 8)

You could be right. It was difficult to think of anything appropriate - didn't want to be too solemn! Regards, Chas.
