I think the US was willing to help Hungary, but we wouldin't have gotten any support. In the Korean War, it was just the US and South Koreans. The USSR should have been convicted with crimes against humanity, like Nazi Germany was.

Just a few comments down we were talking about the Polish role in the Revolution. I did it on purpose. I included a picture at 2minute 50 seconds that shows some Polish People at the Statue of Jozef Bem. Bem (and many more Polish) helped the Hungarians in 1848 against the Austrians and Russians, and the Polish People went to his Statue in Budapest during the 1956 Revolution against the soviet rats. Thank you! And Poland and Hungary were always at peace with each other. Blood brothers!

I agree!!! We have at least 1000 years of brotherhood, but we may have crossed roads way before that. I don't think it is just by chance we were never enemies and I don't know of any fight between the Polish and Hungarians. Several times we had the same King in history and I am sure our relationship goes back to the Hun Empire or maybe even to the time of the Scythians.
We don't know for sure how far our brotherhood goes, but "at least" it's prooven that we are very similar. The scientific journal Science has prooven, that Poles and Hungarians, both have more of the Y chromosome R1a1 than any other nation. So it's prooven that we have a blood relationship - and that's magnificent I think :)). It's even possible, but a bit improbably, that we had the same fathers 10000 years ago or so :))..

There are many good Russian People and in 1956 some died fighting against the incoming troops. I do not have exact numbers but I heard 100-150. Some saved lives by giving their own life. I always had Russian friends even when I was living in Hungary. They hated those rats just like I did, but they were afraid to voice their opinion. When Russia changed mostly peacefully I was very surprised. I was sure it's going to be extremely bloody. But this way the rats are still alive.

@esh325 It was a bit more complicated. Eisenhower was running for re-election and the Suez Canal situation didn't help either. Ike did not want to say much until the election was in the bag for him. Once the numbers came in and he knew he was re-elected he called a special session, but it was too little too late. You cannot resist against 5,000 tanks and 200.000 soldiers when you are a Nation of 10,000,000.

Just a few comments down we were talking about the Polish role in the Revolution. I did it on purpose. I included a picture at 2minute 50 seconds that shows some Polish People at the Statue of Jozef Bem. Bem (and many more Polish) helped the Hungarians in 1848 against the Austrians and Russians, and the Polish People went to his Statue in Budapest during the 1956 Revolution against the soviet rats. Thank you! And Poland and Hungary were always at peace with each other. Blood brothers!

I agree!!! We have at least 1000 years of brotherhood, but we may have crossed roads way before that. I don't think it is just by chance we were never enemies and I don't know of any fight between the Polish and Hungarians. Several times we had the same King in history and I am sure our relationship goes back to the Hun Empire or maybe even to the time of the Scythians.

We don't know for sure how far our brotherhood goes, but "at least" it's prooven that we are very similar. The scientific journal Science has prooven, that Poles and Hungarians, both have more of the Y chromosome R1a1 than any other nation. So it's prooven that we have a blood relationship - and that's magnificent I think :)). It's even possible, but a bit improbably, that we had the same fathers 10000 years ago or so :))..

That is a get together at the Statue of "Bem Apo" Jozef Bem a Polish revolutionary fighter that was one of the heroes of the 1848-49 Hungarian Revolution. This picture was taken in 1956 during the Revolution and there are several Polish Citizens (one with the Polish Flag) in the crowd. They were helping the fight against the russian rats!

Before the Soviets came to Budapest, Hungarians troops were killing, raping and plundering in Russia. And did your father remember how many Hungarian Jews were sent to Auschwitz? I may recommend reading up on your history, the fact is that the Hungarian Government surrendered to the Nazi powers because of the fear of what happened to Czechoslovakia! After the surrender the Hungarian Fascists took over the government and turned Hungary into a allies of Germany.

My family was/is a victim of communist regime from 1945.You know what the serbian communist did in Serbia(Délvidék).I pointed out that the same victim; Hungary,a country suffered so much under communism,now behave the same;close her eyes to all those Hungarian stranded outside her borders.1956 should be a lesson,yet it is not.The suffering of Hungarian people continues,as it seems well into 21st century.1956,Hungary=1990-2008 in Serbia,and (with no bloodshed there but) Ukraine as well.

Capitalism never hurt my Family. Socialism did. Socialism killed 10X more people than Capitalism ever did and will as long as Capitalism will be around! Just to remind you the 10 million in Ukraine killed by Stalin and the 3 million killed by North Vietnam after the Americans left. Now those are not wartime killings, but killing for the sake of killings. But I can go on to North Korea, Cambodia, Cuba, Venezuela and China just to mention a few.

Now these Countries have a past to kill for, along with the soviet union, but many of them are killing People today. In Venezuela, North Korea and China you could disappear so fast nobody would even know you ever existed. It happened in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Romania and Bulgaria in the 1940s to the 1980s and some cases beyond. Yes WAR is evil, but it's a necessary evil. However eliminating thousands when there in no war is much more evil.

Yes I remember... Yet a few hundred People you could hardly call a "Bloody Revolution". The Hungarian was a BLOODY REVOLUTION. Not only because of the estimated 10-12 thousand killed in a Nation of 8 million, but the injured and the ones killed afterwards without a trial or their day in court. I also hope, but war and revolution is a necessary evil in the history of humanity. Take a look at some muslim extremists killing Russian Children in school, traveling People in Madrid and London. And working People in the US. They are part of the "rats" I was talking about, and we need to fight to get rid of them. Many of today's politicians are rats too and that is why we pay so much for gas. We need a revolution on that because "Big Oil" owns these rats (DemocRATS). It's in their name.

There are many good Russian People and in 1956 some died fighting against the incoming troops. I do not have exact numbers but I heard 100-150. Some saved lives by giving their own life. I always had Russian friends even when I was living in Hungary. They hated those rats just like I did, but they were afraid to voice their opinion. When Russia changed mostly peacefully I was very surprised. I was sure it's going to be extremely bloody. But this way the rats are still alive.

I'm sorry, but you don't understand what I'm trying to say here. One of my best friends is Russian. But he is not a rat! The Russian People also suffered just as bad as or worse than other Nations. Those Russian rats killed Russian, Ukrainians etc... And now many of them are Russian millioners. We had and have Hungarian rats (Rakosi, Kadar, Gyurcsany and many more). The everyday People suffer under those rats leadership.

We had the same King on several occasions in our history and I do not recall any conflict between the Hungarian and Polish ever in history. We suffered from the same occupying forces many times but the worst in my opinion was the ruski occupation. Hitler had killed about 1/2 the Poles than Stalin. Not to mention the Ukrainians, Latvians, Litvanians and Russians he killed. THNX.

The reasons I left Hungary are none of your business... However My FAMILY still lives in Hungary. My Father could have left and I can tell you he should have left! I would have never been, but the prison years, humiliation, ridicule, name-calling and finding out that your colleges and neighbors are snitching on you to the police was not worth it. He would have been better off leaving...!
