Marco Rubio has been quoted by the Tampa Tribune as saying the tax cuts provided by the stimulus packages for middle and lower income earners, weren't the "right kind of tax cut." Instead Rubio would have like to have seen a tax cut for "capital gains and a flattening of tax rates to make high-income earners more in line with lower-income earners."

The demographics in Florida are slowly changing to favor the Democrats more. Other Hispanic groups that don't reliably vote Republican (Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, South Americans, etc.) are starting to outnumber the Republican-leaning Cubans.

A friend of mine who lives in NJ said the only reason that NJ had so many arrests for corruption and rightfully so is because officials-politicians turned each other in while here its a closed Cuban fist/ community of turning a blind eye to corruption. Do some more research. There were six(count them - SIX) bills addressing this issue. Rubio asked for a consolidation of them to prevent ambiguity - job not done by legislature. Bills still not reaching the floor - Rubio not there - stop trying to create a negative issue for Rubio when none exists - we are tired of the SPIN.
Reagan has that distinction certainly, more deficit spending than all of history combined (far more there hadn't been a surplus since the war but the debt stood at 900 billion when he got into office and was 3+ trillion when he left) Bush jr also came close. And so will Obama, however nobody is projecting 11 trillion in deficits in the next 8 years so sorry to say you are a liar. As said Obama won't come close to Reagan's fiscal irresponsibility.

Marco Rubio has been quoted by the Tampa Tribune as saying the tax cuts provided by the stimulus packages for middle and lower income earners, weren't the "right kind of tax cut." Instead Rubio would have like to have seen a tax cut for "capital gains and a flattening of tax rates to make high-income earners more in line with lower-income earners."

Don't be so sure that it's "in the bag" for Republicans in Florida. When Obama won in '08 it taught us again that Florida really is a swing state.
The demographics in Florida are slowly changing to favor the Democrats more. Other Hispanic groups that don't reliably vote Republican (Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, South Americans, etc.) are starting to outnumber the Republican-leaning Cubans.

A friend of mine who lives in NJ said the only reason that NJ had so many arrests for corruption and rightfully so is because officials-politicians turned each other in while here its a closed Cuban fist/ community of turning a blind eye to corruption. Its truly "this political thing of ours" aka Cosa Nostra .
Not all are corrupt but a hell of a lot and what is considered slightly unethical here is considered corruption in other places.

When I think of Marco Rubio I think of a a Marlin stadium which will be paid with tax payers money. A private business that tax payers will wind up paying 2.4 BILLION dollars . He didnt try to stop this fiasco. Miami Cuban politicians are the most self serving ,do nothing bunch you can fathom. I know the state of Florida UNLIKE Miami doesnt think the wotrld is flat and only concerned with Cuba. Thus Rubio will NOT be elected by Florida . Gvnr Crist is a way better choice for everyone

The Miami Cubans have never quite grasped the whole freedom-democracy-rule-of-law thing. If they'd had the guts to stay in Cuba and oppose Castro instead of running away and hiding behind the US, Castro would have been gone a long time ago.

When it comes to corruption the Miami Cubans are surely in a class by themselves. Cubans are the only illegal immigrants who are entitled to a Social Security check just for setting foot in the US.
And Miami is the only municipality in the country with it's own foreign policy. I've sometimes fantacized about putting up a billboard which says: "Want to fight Castro? Go back to Cuba!"

It's not all about "optics" but optics are important because Charlie is going to be a tough opponent and you need to be able to point to significant accomplishments. Do some more research. There were six(count them - SIX) bills addressing this issue. Rubio asked for a consolidation of them to prevent ambiguity - job not done by legislature. Reagan has that distinction certainly, more deficit spending than all of history combined (far more there hadn't been a surplus since the war but the debt stood at 900 billion when he got into office and was 3+ trillion when he left) Bush jr also came close. And so will Obama, however nobody is projecting 11 trillion in deficits in the next 8 years so sorry to say you are a liar. As said Obama won't come close to Reagan's fiscal irresponsibility.

How am I disengenious? "The debt increased will be the largest in history" this has been true the past 8 years, AND under Reagan. How is it disingenious to point that out? Rubio had a chance to do something about the illegal alien invasion in Florida and instead he went out of his way to see that no enforcement bills ever made it out of committee. Not really, nobody comes close to Reagan when it comes to fiscal irresponsibility. Except his VEEP who was saddles with pretty much an inherited recession and an already fiscal disaster from the dear Gipper. Only FDR beat him when it came to fiscal irresponsibility but winning WW2 (debt as % of GDP didn't increase until 1941) was certainly more fiscally responsible than doing nothing.
