Root the branches that you cut off your trees. Same goes from limbs that break off. Then you can share the new trees with others. Just use a pot, good soil mix and shady location. Keep the soil moist. If it doesn't work, you have only lost a few minutes time.
Granted coming from a grafted tree, the new plant might not stay short like the original but who cares if you have space.
Looking good. First year and putting out fruit That's great.Looks like you did a number on your thumb.Been there done that.Hope it heals quick. Thanks for sharing.Tec
Ouch! I hit my thumb. Fruit is looking real good. There are plenty of vids on utube to help you with pruning and thinning your trees to get max. yield.
Just planted a 3 in 1 apple in feb. to our amazment we have a few apples on it the 1st year. Also put in a santa rosa plum bareroot from costco. all is doing well.
We are in central coast ca, are blessed with fanstasic growing conditions.
in the beds pumkin, butternut and melons are doing fine, the squash has formed small fruit already. burpee organic seeds. wow. suppose to be a compact type.

@ceadeses Yes, thank you. I did a pretty good job on all my other trees but for some reason I butchered the Plum tree pruning.
