  • I know I'm a little bit late on this, but I hope I can get a response anyway... I just bought my first bag of chia seeds and have just been drinking them in gel form. I was wondering if it is necessary to chew or grind the seeds in order to get all of the nutrients from the seeds... In other words, does the gel that is created by soaking the seeds in water contain all the essential nutrients in the seeds? Or does the digestive tract need a way for the seeds to be broken open?

  • ur so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I thought whatever you made chia seeds with, you have to add 9X more water. One part chia seeds, 9 part water, in other words. ?????

  • Have you ever tried "Mila", and if so, do you notice a difference between that and the other comercial brands?

  • Perfect, perfect, perfect.

  • I just tried my first Chia seeds ever! And I already feel that they are effecting me in a very positive way. I only ground up two table spoons of Chia seeds in an electric seed grinder and mixed it with one table spoon of cane sugar some rolled oats, sunflower seeds and raisins. And I ate it like a Muesli with milk. I tasted really good and now an hour later I feel really relaxed but very energetic at the same time?

Can you please tell me how much Chia seeds you consume in say one day?

  • Really enjoy your upbeat videos! Subscribing...Such a help as I am becoming a gradual raw foods person. Plus, LOVE savory foods. Thanks!

  • My family is from El Salvador, Mom has been making Chia Seed lemonade. It's so good, the health benefits rocks. I have also heard they have great benefits on the kidneys. Great vid, very pretty gal too. 1Love.

  • i just discovered your channel the other day. glad you have a chia seeds video because i saw 1 lb on sale for $10 at the local grocery store. It says they expire this month though (I saw that when I got home) They are sealed closed so are they still good or should I take them back?

  • hey i love your video! good job!

  • Just bought chia seeds, i have never heard about them before. Can you just drink water with them in it? and whats the limit per day?

  • I think you could spread this mix out thinly and dehydrate to make crackers, can any one please answer this - on a prolonged juice feast do you continue to defalcate? (please excuse the unsavory question. )

  • I'm a big raw foodie, and I love chia pudding (sweet), but I'm sorry, that looks disgusting!

  • mmmmm chia seeds! got a few pounds today! thanks for the recipe i will be trying it out fo sho! much love!!

  • I just made this and it is FANTASTIC. reminds me of ramen thats already chewed up. I let my bowl of it set in some warm water to warm it slightly. A great COLD WEATHER food. Thanks for the recipe.

  • I have been looking for something savory to do with my chia seeds. I am not a "raw" food person but I just happen to really like some (only SOME!) raw recipes! I think with this one I would mix in some chopped green onions, broccoli, carrots and maybe even stock rather than water. I know that would make is not-raw but another idea regardless if you are someone like me just enjoying raw ideas!

ohh maybe a little sesame oil and seeds too! mmm! im gonna go make it now!

  • I'd doubt that chia seeds can be digested properly as they have very hard "shells" just like flax seeds. I would chop them up...

  • @knuddel123 You can get it cold-fractured at Hidalgo Foods .com. After it soaks up water in or outside your body, the seeds actually soften up. Flax doesn't. But, you still get more out of it if you consume it "partially processed". Check it out!

  • try searching for the "yogurt chia molasses" recipe

  • She's so positive she's creepy!

  • I read that it's dangerous not to mix them with enough water. It will abosorb the water from your intestines and dehydrate you. 1 part chia to 9 parts water is considered safe. What do you think?

  • @Wivanunu It doesn't dehydrate you. Although with some people, what happens is instead of chia improving their bowel movement, it constipates them. What happens is that the dry chia absorbs the liquids in your intestines and makes a really hard, umm, poop... Again, this happens only to some people (i'm one of them). Most folks are ok eating it dry. My brother does. Go to the website of Hidalgo Foods and visit their library section. You'll find a pages of information on chia seeds.

  • It's just like Miralax.....but it's good for you!

  • Great video, I have just discovered Chia seeds and had no idea what to do with them. Thank you so much! I can't wait to try this recipe.

  • @evervessence If you want to learn more about chia, go to the website of Hidalgo Foods. They have a bunch of information there.

  • i dont understand how you could eat that

  • i have a chia head from thos chia pets.....can i eat the seeds???

  • My mom asks me to take chia seed daily, raw, but my teacher told us that uncooked plant seeds all have poisons - a natural way of protecting seed, also chia came from poisonous plant to insects, do you think it will cause kidney disease if intake for a long time uncook?

  • @op3852 Not all seeds. Some grains can be eaten raw, like chia and flax. To learn more about chia seeds, go to the website of Hidalgo Foods. Go to the library section and then Chia.

  • This recipe is FANTASTIC! I just tried it tonight for dinner and I loved the taste and texture. The ginger totally makes this dish DELISH! Thanks for the great idea, Natasha.

  • Are there any calories in this? This is just so amazing. Never seen anything like this before. Thank you so much for opening our eyes to a new world of food! Very cool.

  • Just ordered my chia seeds and can't wait to try! Ya know your posts are so, so positive and uplifting! You are such a happy camper!

  • Love chia seeds! You can do so much with them! In fact, I have a free sample packet that I am going to use in a little bit.

  • Thanks Natasha, love your simple recipes.

  • That looks delicious Natasha!!! :)

  • where do you get spring water? is filtered tap water not as good?

  • I have some gluten free Organic Tamari and it causes me to feel like I am getting a headache. Do you experiance any problems with it? This looks like something I want to try. Maybe what I will do is cut the Tamari part in half and try that.

Your site must be down this morning.

  • You may have an allergy to the soy in the Tamari-- you can use celtic sea salt instead.

  • Tamari has free glutamate (MSG) in it. That's why it gives you a headache.

    Just use sea salt instead.

  • Yum!!! Thanks for the recipe Natasha! I love Chia Seeds. Its a great superfood. Love your vids!
