The computer i used to have used to have windows 98, but in XP, it took 2minutes. probably.

my dell 2100 dimension took 10 minutes to load then it needd to restart cuz my settings had glitched and then windows xp couldnt stop loading it was on a continous loop and then 20 minutes later it loadd and then it glitched again then restarted it took 2 minutes to load then it was fine then at the end of my session it crashed so i installed windows 98 and it never crashed again

try to bypass the cable select, and use the master/slave combination :)

My problem was solved by killing cable select.

Is this a Hewlett Packard PC? I had a notebook in my hands that loaded so slow too, and it was brand new. They packed it with tons of unwanted software, including Norton Antivirus and many other gadgets.
