@nockuout1 thanks for your thoughts. I started fly fishing about a year and 7 months ago, this fish was caught three months after i started, so yes, I didn't know a lot about fly fishing...I broke the code for milkfish all alone though. I'm sure you were born perfect so you can criticize all you want. Three months into your fly fishing...what did you catch? I caught the hardest fish to catch on earth...you caught what? sorry? what was that??? I can't hear you...
ya, I only fished in creeks and lakes. Don't think there are any fish that are that strong in my waters. yea, I guess that is where the drag on the reel comes in.
Watched this vid 'cause I'm bout to eat one but don't know crap about milk fish. Honestly, when I used to flyfish, I only used the reel when I pack up and leave. I always pulled the string with my hand/fingers. Then again, that was freshwater and not salt. I guess the waves would tangle them up.
@MetallicAsian I think that largely depends on the fish you fish for. In saltwater, theres a lot of fish that would smoke your reel and burn backing. there are some freshwater fish that would be able to do this as well. like the ones in the amazon and thailand.
i jsut caught 4 milkfish yesterday, small ones like about 8 centimeteres,my tank is really big so they are happy there,i also have a pond but i keep coi in there,i can put my milkfish in there to put it's to dark,so if i put it in i cant see it,so i just mixed them with my tropical fishes, but 3 died in just a day,i still have 1,cause 2 oscars ate 2 milkfish, and the other milk fish wanted to pick a fight with a fish twice the size of him, eventually he lost and die, going to cautch more in november.
Theres no flyline in AUH i think, you can get it thru ocean active here in dubai (search for their website in google)...it wont be cheap though. Flyfishing isn't a cheap sport :(
iv jus started buying some tackles for jigging, throlling and surfcasting, but iwould try as well fly fishing coz iv got some gears for flyfishing already.i remember 6 years ago in taal lake i saw many milkfish and there but iv no idea how to catch dis fish. what kind of lure or bait ur using for milkfish?ur answer would be a great help.........cheers

The milkfish in taal arent wild. They will be easier to catch - bread like lasserbream says for fly fishing, bread flies.
Wild ones, are the most difficult technically fish to fish for.
Check out the "milky dream" fly.
