  • i loved the who's halftime show, best one ive ever seen! i understand your criticisms, but that halftime show rocked. everyone in that stadium was going crazy

  • slipknot needs to play the half-time show or maybe cannibal corpse

  • @slipknot789able I like how you think but I doubt the sponsors and the people in NBC will let that fly. They'll probably put in Bon Jovi or Iron Maiden, an older football-friendly band that people know and that the sponsors will like.

  • Two words for next year's halftime show:Iron Maiden

  • @RedGeneral66 i highly doubt there will ever be a metal half time show. believe me i would love to see really any metal band play half time, but i dont think thats gonna happen. the majority of the general super bowl audience is not into metal, same thing with the majority of this country. ive accepted that. maybe a hair band at the very least but even then, its highly doubtful because not everyone likes that either. maiden kicks ass, but they arent really tv or foot ball material

  • @rockfreakmccool You're probably right, especially since(according to rumors) they're bringing in Madonna(she should have retired) AND Nicki Minaj, the most god-awful rapper out right now

  • It's awesome that classic rock bands are given the limelight for an event like the super bowl, but I see where you're coming from, they are only there to appease advertisers, not because they're entertaining. That's not how it should be. But I won't complain because good music is actually being exposed.

  • lets face it michael jackson started the whole big names big performances for the half time show n his sister absolutely ruined it iv been dien 2 see some one make a video about this topic AND NO ONES DOING IT i thought for a moment id have to do it and i dont make videos but seriously im glad u made this vid stating 1 nip slip and 6 years after of dudes who look like they just got released from the retirment home 4 the night and where u can clearly see the oxygen tanks nxt 2 tha artists

  • you forgot about tom petty back in '08 i wanna say?

  • Mick Jagger still has the energy of a 18 year old on crack so yea there fuckin old but who gives a shit they all still have it.Do you say to your grandparents,"Hey gramps you cant do that cause your old as fuck and way past your prime"!So shut your ass up about bands bein old as fuck.People get old dumbass and there music still lives on.My generation, wont get fooled again are awsome songs. You dont know shit so shut your lil channel down bitch and go get so rogaine and a life why your at it!!!!

  • @KevinDrumBumABDC He never said he hated The Who or U2.He has a problem with the reason why they are there:80 percent is for a clean environment and 20 percent is for their actual talent. It should not have to be like that

  • And your like 24 and you have a receding hairline so shut the fuck up,The Who are fucking awsome back in 1978 and there still fucking awsome today! The rolling stones, the who, prince, bruce springsting,U2 are still great rock bands.your a retard there still the bad ass brits you fucking retard you dont even play music!Your just a fucking retard that thinks there albert fuckin einstein!Id rather here a kickas classic rock band even if there fuckin old as fuck than lil wayne! So GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • it was better than the 2011 super bowl black eye pae how about AC/DC and that crazy guitar player

  • @11deathmetal That crazy guitar player was Slash from Guns N Roses and Slash is fuckin kickass!!!!!

  • @KevinDrumBumABDC no no you miss understund. i was talking about Angus Young

  • If Metallica performs pre-St.Anger songs, then they should be at the show

  • Dude, muesproductions.. you'd rather listen too modern music that contain Illuminati? Listen too the oldies, it actually means something. I bet you listen too that Poker Face bull shit in your little skimpy ass car, thinking you're all cool. Btw you're going bald before you are 30.

  • @MusicMightDie he likes Metallica

  • they might be hiring classic rock artists for the wrong reason, but hey, at least it's not little wayne.

  • u left out Tom Petty

  • Hey Muse-bag..you lost all credibility by using air quotes

  • Well, The Who's half time show as WAY better than The Black Eyed Peas' half time show. I mean, for one thing, I haven't heard ANYONE made any kind of good comment about that half time show. Well, I know some people were disappointed with The Who's performance for some reason, but The Black Eyed Peas somehow got more hate, even from people who I know from school who like their kind of music. I don't what point I'm trying to make with this, but I guess having The Who perform was for the better!

  • @Connor6742

I was disappointed with The Who's preformance because it wasn't very good compared to some of their other live preformances.

The Black Eyed Peas sucked balls. I don't care what anybody says. It was god fucking awful. Shit fuck ass ton of autotune, even live on stage, preforming a song that isn't even theirs (yeah I know they brought out Usher, but they didn't need to. It might as well be a BEP song because Will I Am raped what could have been a catchy song).

  • @justforthelulzzz

dont worry, even their fans thought it sucked. people are starting to realize why artists like the black eyed peas are awful. they cant do a stage performance for their lives

  • You know most people who watch football listen to rock/metal and are over 30 yrs old (the majority) and I know most people at the super bowl are over 30 yrs old and listen to rock, not new hip/hop, pop shit, so having the who at last years super bowl was great, it pleased many football fans

  • @toadfan64 it is really funny how all these little opinionated people just magically come up with these statistics on what everyone likes but bring no backup to the table?

  • LADY GAGA FOR THE 2012 SUPERBOWL

  • @nbmp80 no Bob Dylan or AC/DC

  • @iamobeliskquake FUCKING BORING!!!!!

  • @nbmp80 sad that u think so with how crazy Angus Young is

  • @nbmp80 You have no taste

  • yeah mate, the who are one of the most successful artists in history. the rolling stones, paul mccartney and prince are all equally massive and between them have sold more than any other artist in history.

  • Have Ashlee Simpson perform superbowl.

  • Well this year it is the Black Eyed Peas. Oh god. Its going to suck this year.

  • @alk61695 and it did and this one will 2 i bet why cant acdc, or mettalica or ozzy or alice cooper do it

  • my young cousin was asking my aunt why they were letting old people sing at the super bowl.

  • Why would you think it would have been great in 1978?

That is when the drummer Keith Moon died...

  • U didnt mention Tom Petty, and wasnt that exactly the songs they played?

  • The band you forgot to mention is Tom Petty (i think)

  • lol 6:00

  • its appealing to 40-something dads that watch the superbowl every year even though they don't really care about football

  • the black eyed peas is peforming at this years super bowl

  • @jagsfanintexas95

Aw... I was hoping that some other big classic rock act (I was thinking Lynyrd Skynyrd or ACDC) would.

  • I agree with you there should be good modern bands performing. Vultures 2011!

  • I support B.o.B, Lupe Fiasco, Outkast, and Jay-Z for Half-Time shows at the Super Bowl.

  • @ODM3Productions

No. Jay-Z sucks balls. The others, I could kind of deal with.

If they want a rap act so bad, I would approve of Ice Cube. That would be interesting.

  • who gives a fuck about foot ball shut the fuck up im tired of everyone bitching about how shitty poplar music is. the people that arent being pleased by todays music need to go out and form a band it dosent matter if you cant play an instrumnt as long as you are passaionant about the music you are preforming people will be impressed and there will be a new great age of music we just have to go out and make things happen instead of bitching about how things suck.

  • Michael jackson's Half time, was the first musical, and the greatest one

  • do think parents are too soft these days

  • When i went to school the next day after the Superbowl 2004 everybody was talking about it. When i walked through the hallways all you can hear everybody saying "DID YOU SEE THE SUPERBOWL LAST NIGHT & DID YOU SEE THE HALFTIME SHOW AND JANET JACKSON". It was fun to talk about that with the teachers and students at school the day after.

  • Mues, do you remember the WWF Halftime Heat show during halftime at Superbowl 1999? It was that empty arena match between THE ROCK & MANKIND.

  • I think that next year they should keep rock, but maybe do bands like metallica, AC/DC, and alice cooper. now that would be a badass half-time show.

  • whens ringo gunna do one? lol

  • keep the classic rock bands alive

just because The Who are old

that doesn't mean they don't rock

  • they only song you got wrong was "my generation", it was "pinball wizard"

  • My guess is They're gonna get Led Zeppelin to do the halftime for the 50th Superbowl

  • @Sirpwnalot4321 That'd be only JPJ and Page, bonhams dead and plants just... weird bout zepp

  • All of it has to do with Janet:

    2005: Paul McCartney

    2006: Rolling Stones

    2007: Prince

    2008: Tom Petty

2009: Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band

    2010: The Who

2011: Who knows? Maybe Coldplay or the other rock groups?

  • @AutoRockinRacing94 dave mathews unforunately next year

  • @bucprime I see nothing about performing next year, they don't say until the Thanksgiving Game.

  • @AutoRockinRacing94 i read it in the newspaper the next day

  • u were dead on with the songs

  • mues, it bet it'll be justin bieber next year because he's not gonna do anything crazy.

all that g-rated bullshit's not gonna be a problem for advertisers

  • im fine with any superbowl half time show really, as long as it isnt anyone in the "rihanna, kesha, and beiber" category.

but i would love to see either an acdc, metallica, or even a linkin park halftime show

  • It is basically like the future of justin bieber<(whateve his name is) Shitty songs gay voices and last but not least FAIL

  • I find it a bit disappointing that you left out people not knowing about the Who. My friends started singing "Don't Stop Believing" when The Who came on.

  • Half time shows have been really boring the last few years. I don't even bother watching them anymore.

  • whats wrong with aerosmith? weird... people say rock is dead. but a majority of my classmates were talking about the half time show, and how the saints pulled off an enormous win when people said they were gonna just get "lucky".

  • Muse would be a good modern band to lay the halftime show

  • The reason that they're doing this is because these Woodstock Generation artists aren't going to be around much longer, and they're trying to get as many performances as possible before they go.

  • The sad thing too is to this day the ptc still uses the 2004 nip slip as there corner stone for all their bitching to congress, one of there members became president of the FCC and had also worked under George W Bush, they're a bunch of bible thunping douchebags ranked up with the Phielps and they're brainwashed church group

  • they shouldve got the red hot chili peppers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!the solo to "ReadyMade" will definetly fuck your shit up :) just crank it up and brake something or not.....you could nit a sweater while your listening to it as long as you see how badass it is

  • lol chocolate city saints ha lol your funny

  • U2 = Best Halftime Show Ever! :)

  • I think AC/DC is the best bet for next years. They go great for any sporting event. + they have big balls! LOL! Now if ya wanna get into a newer, younger, popular, at least somewhat relevant to sports, and still good, I think Red Hot Chilli Peppers or Foo Fighters can pull it off.

  • The Who was so depressing at the Super Bowl. Completely lifeless, and WOW Roger Daltrey CAN'T sing anymore.

  • why hasnt metallica done the half-time show? they seem like a good choice for next year, a classic band thats still huge and can give an energy filled performance

  • The thing is that they're still sort of "metal," and of course, since they're not a bad that absolutely anyone and their mother can appreciate, like The Who, Bruce Springsteen, and The Rolling Stones, they won't get a show

  • i can see what you mean.

  • The Who rocked the halftime!!! I hope they put another classic rock band on the halftime show to... It's fucking awesome their putting great bands on instead of bullshit like Lil Wayne, or Shakira or watever...

  • i love the fact the halftime shows are classic rock acts,i actually watch the halftime shows now

  • Yeah it was Tom Petty that you were thinking of. Nice vid as always.

  • marc, did you even like the half time show because it sounds to me that you didn't really care for it, you should be happy it was the who and not computerized shit from today

  • I love how you guessed exactly right on the songs they played. Ha!

"I hope I die before I get old". TOO LATE. :P

  • hey mues man. please do a rant on the "redo" of we are the world for haiti. i can't even begin to comment on what a disgrace to the original the song is.

  • I've heard part of it and it makes the original, which was not really a great recording IMO, look like Beethoven. At least the USA for Africa one had the drama of geniuses like Dylan, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder. Ok some were forgettable and of their time but others have persevered as legends. But this one has so many flash-in-the-pans it's gonna look real bad down the road. The UK one Geldof did- "Do They Know it's Christmas?"- suffers from too many 80s big shots that are irrelevant now.

  • well hey, @ least they didnt pick Taylor Swift

  • yeah the who didnt do so well because they played the same god damn songs they play in ever reounin tour. The new drummer was pretty good though but Keith moon kicks ass and i hates how they used a pre recording of the synthesizer if im right.

  • They've always used a pre-recording. The synthesizer bits are still almost impossible to replicate live for "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again." Townshend recorded them on a VCS3 synth that looped the sounds coming through from him fiddling around with a keyboard (organ on "Fooled"). Also that drummer has been with them since the mid-90s. It was Zak Starkey, Ringo's eldest son. At 44, he may be middle-aged but still is the young guy in that band!

  • I didn't watch the game until 4th Quarter. I was out doing errands with my father then grabbed dinner and recorded In the Studio with Redbeard from the radio as the episode this week was Genesis singer/drummer Phil Collins' classic solo album No Jacket Required celebrating its 25th Anniversary. I didn't turn on until 9 PM and watched the SAINTS (in Hell as Judas Priest said it) send Forrest Peyton to Hell. Furthermore, The Who's gig was flat. No wonder Pink Floyd upstaged them in 2005 at Live 8.

  • @floydgenesisnut

I thought the Who were actually pretty good. I was glad that it was them rather than some pop shit performing. This is just my opinion, though, but I just don't think you can call it flat, their performance.

  • I've seen The Who FOUR TIMES live going back to 1989. Twice without John Entwistle and twice without him. The two shows with The Ox were better! When John Entwistle died, The Who died! I'm happy that older bands do the Super Bowl than the pop shister. MTV is dead anyway so they can't produce Super Bowl Halftimes anymore. At least they won't invite that inbred hick Bitchney, wannabe hillbilly Kid Crock and that cockroach who killed Janet Jackson's career Justin Stinkercake back.

  • I as well saw the TOMMY 1989 tour it was great.

  • yea i seen the who 3 times 1976 with Moon then

1985 and 2002.They are in my opinon the greatest live band ever.

  • you forgot Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers :D

  • i personally liked the who at the super bowl. I hope they keep these classic rock acts instead of some peice of shit pop act like ke$ha or justin bieber. but i respect your opinion

  • @xxbss4lifexx Sorry But You Saw It Yesterday

  • @andrewdeHOTH And look how that went.

  • @xxbss4lifexx AC/DC, John Fogerty, Elton John, David Bowie, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and Mark Knopfler would be good

  • I saw something recently on the local news that said if you take all the commericals, talking and interviews, and standing around and waiting parts of a 3 hour football game, there's really only about half an hour or less of actual football.

  • i love the who

  • hey man, you should be happy that a band like the who is preforming the half time show, this way maby kids these days could experience good music from a long time ago insted of today's computerizd shit they call "music".

  • i liked bruce springsteen's show

  • Springsteen was awesome because his live shows are but also he can mix new stuff with the classics and he has a bigger back catalogue than the Who. More recent too, considering they've only put out one studio album since 1983 and no one paid attention to it. I liked Petty ok, Prince was sweet, McCartney too. The Who were just decent. I'd say the worst one was the Stones, which pains me to say since I historically like them (pre-1980s) better than all the others.

  • Tom Petty Rocks. The Who was crap and I like the Who, and Janet erm who was that, and nellie what the hell....

  • "the kind of ppl who go to dave mathews concerts" LOL NICE

  • kid rock wtf ever happned to him

  • nice head.

  • stupid dumb punk!, get a life!, respect other people's tastes, old or new! I saw the Grateful Dead last May and 85% of the audience was under 28, they have taste, you just suck! stupid dumb punk!, get a life!, respect other people's tastes, old or new! I saw the Grateful Dead last May and 85% of the audience was under 28, they have taste, you just suck! stupid dumb punk!,

  • stop repeating yourself stop repeating yourself stop repeating yourself

  • they lip sync,

  • music today sucks. the old stuff is the best. pop sucks my balls. if u want an awesome current band listen to Dream Theater and Dream Theater only.

  • i wouldn't narrow it that much

  • Who is the "they" you keep referring to? Your little circle of barely-post-pubescent friends? Did you notice the entire audience knew every word to every song? Do you think that will be the case when the music YOU listen to is featured at Super Bowl XXXXX? By the way Rogaine now comes in gummy bears.

  • do you know why we are getting the who for a half time show. it's because they have talent and most so called "rock stars" now adays suck shit. 9-10 "artists" now a days use a god damn voice correction devices. for shit sake these are real band that are being brought back to show that they still kick ass and people now a days don't. Pop and Rap suck shit and will die in no time. There is no talent in these "artists" that do pop and rap.

  • Pop music sucks balls. Go whack off to your Lady GaGa posters, Simpleton.

  • he left out tom petty

  • i read alicia keys, shakira and usher are performing this year on the half time show.

  • Is their anything you do like

  • what's wrong with dave matthews?

  • With out moon and the ox it wont be as good..But roger and pete will put on a good show..but yeaa they could of atleast got somone that is classic but not old like a band from the 90's or 80's..but w.e the who rock

  • the exposure of Janet's breasts weren't as half as bad as what we usually see today. It's just a female's body, I'm sure 'kids' had seen their moms' anatomy before. It wasn't an exposure of genitalia or anything, actually it had nothing to do with genitalia.

  • Well hopefully Roger Daltreys pants wont fall off.

they should go back to playing beavis and butt-head at half time

  • I know...but The Who will make it better...I understand what ur saying about the media...WHORES who want all this other shit goin' on....I hope it's actually better

  • you speak the truth man, you need to get recognized

  • why in 1978? keith moon died by then.

the who is my favorite band XD so i'm glad either way.

  • Well before that duh. If we could transport the Who 1969-70 from back in time, it'd be the best halftime show there'd ever be. Now back then they were indisputably brilliant. I didn't see them since I wasn't born yet but hearing their shows from that period, esp. Live at Leeds, proves that no one ever played with such power despite really only being a power trio with a lead singer. Led Zep sounds stiff and drugged out by comparison (which it was).

  • i personaly thought their proformance was amazing, i'd like see other 60 year old men play like that, and honislty they sounded better than a good majority of most modern bands. or maybe i'm just that big of a who fan not to notice lol. but all is well.

  • Yew always right mues

  • ...and I like The Dave Matthews Band lol

  • Cant co-sign with you on this one Mues.

Im an eighteen years old female, and I don't even really like football. But I will be watching with halftime show with my father, brothers, uncles, boyfriend, any other man who's coming over our house, just to watch The Who preform.

    They're appealing to me :]

  • dude if lil wayne did the halftime show it would blow ever other halftime show away. he killed at the grammys with eminem and drake

  • lil wayne is gay as is all rap. The who is awesome classic rock

  • Well shit who wood you have then ????????

  • Hey Mr. Mues, when are you moving in with your girl? My point? My point is, I still see those same blue-ass walls. Although classic/epic, I'm looking for a change of scenery. Lol. Thanks in advance, my friend.

  • go Colts!

  • I'm going for the Saints!

  • U2 would be a decent canidate.

  • u forgot rolling stones

  • tom petty

  • the problem with The Who doing the superbowl is that if you were to ressurect Keith Moon and told him he was to perform at the superbowl he would probably say "WHAT THE FUCK IS THE SUPERBOWL"

  • no offense @phycho5275 but the superbowl was popular since 1967 and keith moon died in 1978 so im pretty sure he heard of it

  • In america it was popular but probably not in britain

  • Well Moon lived in L.A. the last 3 years of his life so he'd go if asked. Anywhere there was a party and/or an open bar, he was there!

  • You should look what happened to Toby Kieth about how he was attacked by some asian racial protection group or something because he made a "racial" gesture. Stupid..lol. What they should have for half time is Van Canto. They are definetly unique and different but awesome all the same. Reccomendation: Kings of Metal-Van Canto

  • This may sound a little off topic but who do you want to win the Superbowl, Marc?

I'm rooting on the Colts, that's just me. lol

  • Colts

  • I absolutely agree with you on the fact that 'Superbowl' commercials suck ass, and symbolize everything i hate about the advertising industry. You also make a point about how parents are too lazy to teach their kids about the negative things that go on in the world, as well as how the selection of musical guests have changed since 'nipplegate'. I question advertisers 'concerns' about their product, but i also parental groups who are uninformed about how things work.

  • who the fuck do you want to see then? I Think the who is a great act to do it. They can do: My Generation, Who are you, Baba O'Reaily, won't get fooled again. Perfect medley.

  • Chocolate City Saints lol

  • LOL at 6:00

  • tom petty was the guy who you left out

  • tom petty

  • Comment removed

  • Hey maybe they'll ask Metallica to play next year Super Bowl Half Time Show.

  • i wouldn't count on it. i bet they're probably gonna get bon jovi or some shit like that (i really hate bon jovi). you know they SHOULD have to do the halftime show? AC MUTHAFUCKIN DC!!!!!

  • @dingaling24

Yeah AC/DC would be cool or Van Halen with Roth but you maybe right about Bon Jovi since they're an "American Band",maybe Journey(unfortunately without Steve Perry), also don't be surprise KISS might get the call too or for laughs Axl Rose's version of Guns N' Roses. But Metallica would shake things up kicking it off with "Master Of Puppets", "For Whom The Bell Tolls", "Whenever I May Roam" & to end it "Sandman". Yeah that would rock.

  • i don't know about GNR. first of all axl almost never leaves his mansion nowadays. second, everyone hates the new GNR lineup. third, since the superbowl committee has been trying to play it safe the past six years, the last thing they want is to hire a guy who would assault you just for looking at you funny. bon jovi and ac/dc seem like the most logical candidates, but again, i wouldn't count on seeing metallica or guns n roses up there.

  • @dingaling24

On second thought, you maybe right that Axl's "GnR" would be a bad idea. He might not show up or if he would, he might show up after the game is over. LOL!!!!

  • They did Bon Jovi in 2002 I think, sticking them in there before the trophy presentation which got everyone mad. They had everyone gathered and the announcer said "But first, a number from Bon Jovi." Then they subjected us all to that pussy-ass, mushy, weak-kneed, formulaic housewife hard rock that's somehow captured millions of fans (gee, wonder why? Maybe because people like a common denominator they can agree on cause it doesn't challenge them. People tend to like stuff cause others do).

  • I doubt it, but that would be pretty damn cool.

  • that would pwn.. but they would play one of there softer songs which is still good.. but there heavy stuff is best.

  • Do a rant on jersey shore

  • (lol), An African American boobie! Oh, the outrage.

You are so funny dude. Love you.

  • I'm looking forward to seeing The Who.

Though it won't be the same without Keith blowing up his drums and stuff... And Entwistle's... well... I don't even know. HE'S JOHN ENTWISTLE. What more is there really to say about him? He's the greatest bassist of the millenium.

And did that say, "Too late" at "hope I die before I get old?"? Haha, that's horrible. (But true. Even I've said it...)

  • Someone probably said this, but you forgot Tom Petty playing 3 years ago. But yeah, totally safe acts for the Super Bowl anymore. Pretty weak.

  • @RyanlsOffended

Oh great. Thanks for warning me so I can turn off my TV at half-time.

  • I thought Chocolate City was Washington DC

  • Prince's performance WAS the best halftime show and other than the boob thing, Janet Jackson performed great.

Not a fan of the Who though.

  • I'd like to see Dream Theater do the half time show. I know they aren't the best but I'm just being realistic because they are a very huge band.
