I have just returned from the around-the-world tour . I visited (among others) Israel and Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and Bosnia.

To me, the New Testament does not begin until after the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ.
It's my belief that Jesus lived under the old Law, and that it was His payment of our sins that brought in the New Covenant.
You might be right in saying I may be the only one who considers Acts to be the beginning of the New Testament.
