I vote no to the leash in general. If there were no leashes, everybody would worry about being a great swimmer. Surf spots would be less crowded, and people would be more careful in general. If you know, loosing your board means half an hour swim just to retrieve it back, you are not gonna go on just any wave.

Dude - this was a really great video as was the one on the importance of the take off for big waves. I really appreciate the human element and stories rather than just watching guys drop in or get pummeled in the white water.

Man cool video, I vote yes to the leash. I just got a new 7.4ft Wayne Lynch Gun - I dont want it washing up on the rocks! On the big days just make sure you can hold your breath!
