Realise that when astronomers & physicists use the term 'planet x', they use it in a very different context to what the conspiracy freaks do.
Nibiru's not a real planet. There isn't a shred of evidence to even suggest it's a possibility. In fact, most of what's claimed renders it physically impossible.

Just for the record, I have never professed to me being a scientist of any sorts but lets just say that I have good reason to show a keen interest. I am aware of how scientific method works & find it very hypocritical & damn ignorant of those who criticise & slur what our very existence & future depends upon.

Anyone who said they might move at any rate other than a few inches or so per year was a heretic, well, almost. My point is that when people are tellin you things in certainty, don't believe them!
We know what we know through stringent repeated scientific testing using the most up to date technology available. You have no idea of 'scientific method', type it into wikipedia & i'm sure it will give you a satisfactory definition & idea how it works. I'll put it simple for you, if we conduct the same tests over & over & keep getting the same results back then it's a pretty good indication of it's accuracy. The methods & results are scrutinised
by peers but if you believe that you can simply make predictions & claims with zero academic knowledge on the subject, without conducting a single test & come up with something that grossly differs to geologists then you go for it. Now as 'plate tectonics' is a relatively new theory then naturally all things are not yet known on the subject, however given the tests conducted over the past 40yrs, we

2.) I think you are a little mistaken when you say that 30 yrs ago we believed it impossible for an asteroid to collide with a planet. If nothing else we discovered impact craters all over the place which clearly suggest impacts from celestial bodies. Nibiru's not a real planet. There isn't a shred of evidence to even suggest it's a possibility. In fact, most of what's claimed renders it physically impossible.

Well, not exaclty. You see, there was this guy, his name was "Doe" though most people knew him as Mr. Marshall Applewhite. He was on his way to meet the Uroi (the ships name), but happened to make a mistake with the time schedule. He somehow tried to get on the wrong "train". Actually, the legend says that they were twins, not necessarily the same size. And although Nibiru started out being close to the size of Earth, it's travels thru the heavens may have worn it down some. Umm, yes actually one did. You see, when I was in science class the teacher brought out a dynamo, the hand crank kind. He told everybody to come up one at a time to see what electricity felt like. He would have them put fingers on electrodes and then he would start to crank. Hands came off quickly. When my turn I said nah! He said yea! So I put my fingers on and he cranked and cranked until his hand couldn't turn any faster. I have not been the same since, and I don't think that he has either!

I have one for you. Not long ago, ALL experts told us that plates move slowly, over millions of years. Anyone who said they might move at any rate other than a few inches or so per year was a heretic, well, almost. 2.) I think you are a little mistaken when you say that 30 yrs ago we believed it impossible for an asteroid to collide with a planet. If nothing else we discovered impact craters all over the place which clearly suggest impacts from celestial bodies. Being as we can plot orbits of comets then i can't see why anybody would think this? We knew about & awaited the impact of SL9, the collision was correctly predicted. If Nibiru was where it is alleged to be right now then it would need to be travelling just shy of the speed of light to get here for 2012. has anyone actually read the article? it doesn't actually say that its been discovered - "theoretical calculations using computer simulations led them to conclude it was only a matter of time before the mysterious 'Planet X' was found." - in other words, we think it should be there but we just cant find it. Maybe its an invisible planet thats 2/3'ds bigger than earth, if it was on a collision course with earth we'd have seen it by now seeing as though it takes so long in space travel.

1) - You sure did but I then went on to explain why apart from this being irrelevant it is not strictly true. In 1960 he conclusively proved that the Barringer Meteor Crater in Arizona was no doubt that of a meteor impact, a fact that was initially perceived back in 1891 by the geologist Grove Karl Gilbert so to say that 30 yrs ago we thought that planetary impacts didn't happen simply isnt true.

'planet x' was named Eris, it is a dwarf planet(it's similarly sized to Earth's Moon), covered in methane ice and is generally about 3 times further from the Sun than Pluto. It orbits as close as Neptune, but no closer. If it came as close as earth it would burn up due to it being covered in Methane Ice.
