its the truth...the jay leno show was doing well, but how tthe time slots were set up, people weren't watching the local news as much, making them lose money... it was being "cancelled" and moved to the tonight show slot because local broadcasters were threatening to not air the show at all...conan wasnt doing a bad job...leno is just doing better

I loved Zac's intro. I'm a firm believer in using comedy and laughter as an escape during tragic times, so I liked how he addressed that. And, of course, the part about not being able to escape because Jay Leno is on was hilarious! And lovin' the return of the Chris Brown jokes! Wonderful episode, as always. I learned so much- Jay Leno's show is horse porn, "The Tortoise and the Hare" is a date rape allegory... I've been enlightened!

They're not canceling the Jay Leno show because of bad ratings. They're canceling the show because of un-foreseen fallout from the affiliates. Jay Leno still consistently pulls in numbers twice that of Conan.

I do research some, and i did not know that, but you have to take into account that Conan airs an hour and a half after Jay, most people that work 8-5 jobs would go to bed before Conan is on simply because of his timeslot.

What I have read says that since its start, The Jay Leno Show has been getting between 25 and 50 percent lower ratings than is average for the 10 PM timeslot, probably because it is almost a carbon copy of shows like The Tonight Show and Late Night.

Leno at 11:35 did twice as well as Conan did at 11:35. Leno's 10pm show is getting 25-50% fewer viewers than other 10pm time-slots because of the format of the show - not the attraction of the show. NBC (or anyone with a brain for that matter) ever expected Leno to beat new episodes of prime time drams like CSI.

Anyway, Conan has only been doing The Tonight Show for 7 months, he has hardly had time to establish himself yet.
