During WW2, Bulgarians themselves organised in order to save the 50 000-strong Jewish community in Bulgaria. In fact, we didn't want to take part in the war, but Hitler threatened us with invasion if we didn't. He ordered troops on Bulgaria's northern border(Dunav) and gave our government an ultimatum.

Remember that Bulgarians saved 50 000 Jews from Bulgaria, too. They didn't have control over Macedonian issues.

But the Tsar's arm was in no way twisted when he participated in the Nazi-led invasion of Yugoslavia, annexed Macedonia, and participated in the murder of Macedonian Jews and other "undesirables". Not to mention the Tsar was no less brutal against Bulgarian anti-fascists than his Nazi bosses occupying the country.
