  • Tomo Fujita= Asian modified SRV model with funk&jazz upgrades

  • @flowerdrop1 Thank you!!!!! Tomo

  • I can't seem to get my wrist relaxed and fluid like you :( any tips??

  • @reaching4happiness Practice swing groove with Rt37 first. You need to build your condition first. Tomo

  • @TomoFujitaMusic omg you replied!!! I'm so humbled you could spare a minute to give me that tip. Unfortunately I'm limited to understand that by RT37, you mean rt 3rd 7th? I'm totally clueless. I have a feeling you may be talking about one of your lessons book. Could you please let me know which book would be relevant and what else the book covers so I can have a look at purchasing it?

    thank you SO MUCH.

  • you make a drummer useless...

you should stop playing like this or some day you'll get killed by an angry drummer who's just got fired

  • @UnsatisfactionGuaran My CD PURE, Steve Gadd, Bernard Purdie & Steve Jordan played 3 tunes each! Thank you!

    Tomo

  • You're awesome! You inspired me to make some funky licks, but I'm still not feeling this style. It' really difficult for me. Have you got any e-lessons which shows secrets of funk?

  • @Daraz69

Just think: I'm not playing guitar, im playing drums.

If he was jamming with a drummer, all those muted rakes would be either the high hat or the snare.

  • Really groovy. I love that percussion style playing.

  • Thank you so much!

    Tomo

  • hello, excellent groove! How do you fast triplet?direction? plectre and exercices?Or what about Steve Gadd who explain that? Wich dvd? Thanks you tomo and do it again you're the best

  • Listen to Steve Gadd's snare! Thank you.

    Tomo

  • you make me love da Fonk yeah \o/

You are using some kind of sweeping, no ? because, in several covers of your song (just funky) people don't seems to use the same technics as you ... so I don't know if I don't see really well what you are doing or if people aren't using the good technic ...

  • Thank you so much! Fast triplet. That's all.

    Tomo

  • Thanks for your care.

    Tomo

  • no prob. you're just too talented to stay comfortable, know what I mean? try to stick more unexpected chromaticism in there by using the alternate scales and chords they're teaching you at Berklee...you really do have a great sound though...

  • So I have been reading around. You teach at Berklee right? You were John Mayers teacher?

Man...I have alot of respect for you. John Mayer is one of the most skilled musicians in main stream music today... I would kill to get a few lessons with you...

  • Yes. I have been tecahing at Berklee since 1993. Thanks for your kind words. John is fantastc artist that can do all! If you come to Boston, please contact me.. let's make it happen! If you think something..... and do it if you can!

    Tomo

  • awesome..kool sound!

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaahh Tomo....

is really funky and awesome guitar sound...

    greetings from Chile

  • Your strumming pattern is ridiculous at the beginning and end - are you just muting the strings and strumming harder, using the strings like a snare drum?

  • Love, who needs a drummer?

  • lol)))

  • yeah man!!!! Really nice playing!

  • This...is very cool man. Watching something like this makes me wish I could have studied music instead of being stuck at law school

  • i studies music and am unemployed, i wish i went to law school lol.

  • How long did you try? Music... many directions are possible too.

    Tomo

  • it was sort of tongue in cheek!!! dont worry tomo!

  • LoL, rixills! Such is the life of an artist. However, I am convinced that if an artist who knows he does have the skills, and is ready, that they go out there and take the chance. Go to NYC or LA or somewhere... live on the streets if you have to. And play gigs, meet people, play on the streets... Most don't have the balls to do that, though. I'm convinced that if you do this, you will be successful.

  • Thank you!

    Tomo

  • sugoi

  • That sounds sooo cool.

Would you tell me the chords that you are playing, because I can't really tell from this video. That would be so great.

    Awesome video thanks ! :D

    5/5

  • Thank you! First chord is C9 (not means should play C 9 times! Rt M3 b7 9 5 (Root on 5th strings).

    Then I played 123 strings 5th fret ...

they are Rt M3 6 (VI- triad)

    and 3rd fret .... b7 9 5 (V- triad)

    Tomo
