The first time I watched this movie, and Henry Fonda stuck that knife in the table, I stood up and yelled "YEAH, FUCK YOU TOO!". I'd like to imagine he was thinking the same thing.
Jurors are not allowed to bring any outside evidence into the jury room. This scene was factually inaccurate and should not have happened. With that said, this was a great scene
Juror 4 puts a very nice nick in the table, and then Juror 8 puts another nick in the table. He says, Hey buddy, if you can nick the table so can I. I'm on the boy's side, see, and pro-acquittal people can damage court property just like you pro-conviction types.
Yes, I remember seeing Marshall's character nattering about how unique the knife and I couldn't help but say to the screen, "Come on, anyone could get a blade like that if they know where to look." Leave it to Henry Fonda to do the argument silently, and yet so eloquently.
If there was ever a movie I felt everyone in American society or society in general for that matter should watch and think very hard about it is definatly this film.

If I were in that room, I would question why #8's knife is slanted compared to the other one. Yes, I am the thirteenth angry man!
