Don't reuse clips, and if possible, try to make the AMV tell a story, not just have people singing along. If lip-syncing is an option, then do it, but there should be a story to keep interest.

I think what most people have trouble with making videos with is the timing, and keeping the scenes related to the music, especially if there is a lot of animes in this case. But, since it is a first, of course you'll gain experience. Keep it up, and remember to keep learning from others and yourself.

I've always liked this cover of Come On Eileen. But, some advice:

-When making an AMV, maybe have a story in mind and don't mesh up random clips? The song's about a guy trying to get a girl in bed with him, there's gotta be just one anime that could apply to that.

-I liked the syncing in some parts, but others seemed too random.

-Don't overuse clips just because you don't have enough material. If you have to use the same clip twice to make the video, just don't make it.
