Great scene. She was a wonderful actress, and Orson Welles was an incredible actor and director.

The version restored and reedited for the Library of Congress archives has a different ending and is my favorite. It is beautiful. The blacks are as black as you can get, the whites white and contrast is striking. I think is is one of the scariest movies I ever saw. The restored, re edited version that is.

I can NOT believe she was 57 here! She is one of the most absolutely gorgeous women of any age. She looks at least two decades younger.

One of the best opening lines in movies: walk in, stop. Stare and size this fellow up. Take a drag and exhale. It's been a long day and she's tired. Pause, then, "We're closed."
