I mean I played BJ today and the count was +14 and I was wonging so what did I do I stuck £5 on the back of a guy who knew how to play and would you believe it we got 14 then a lucky 6 and the dealer got 20 so we drew then I stuck £10 on the back and gosh we got 15 against the dealers 10 ,I mean with a +14 count and we busted so what is the point you cant win either way unless someone has any helpful suggestions. Okay, your one advantage in BJ is that if you get a blackjack, you get 1.5 on your money, even though the dealer doesn't get 1.5 of your money (only 1, aka, your bet).

...so, the dealer has an advantage if there are more Ts and As in the deck, because the odds of a blackjack are greater. You expect to win or push roughly 48 or 49 out of 100 hands statistically, meaning just playing perfect basic strategy, you will bleed money in the long run...

HOWEVER, imagine that you had more money bet when you won, and less money bet when you lost. Obviously, even if you lost more hands, you could turn a profit. This is the idea of counting. If your blackjacks occur when you have more money in, you will come out ahead in the long run, and that is more likely to happen with more T,J,Q,Ks and aces in the deck.

You will win and lose like everyone else, but gain more than you lose, especially if you have a strict betting and counting regiment.

I can barely understand what you are asking, but I will try to explain. A successful card counter is absolutely NOT interested in short term gain. On any given hand, shoe, or even trip to the casino,, the cards can be very bad and even the best of counters can lose. The point is to turn that 1% edge that the casino has into an edge for the player, and by playing many hands with that edge so that you see a profit.

all you ppl that believe that you can win money with counting cards are soo stupid. did u know that most casinos use 6 decks for blackjack and that there is a buffer of 1 deck where they stop and the cards get shuffled again. u can count what u like u still dont know what the next card is. and the fact that u know that the chance for a high card is 2% bigger then for a low card will never help u . the casino will take ur money. find out the truth about counting cards.

the way it works is say u havve a count of positive 6 on a 6 deck game, you divide the value by the number of decks discarded roughly so say there is 2 decks discarded now you have a real count of positive 3

It depends on how many decks are left in the shoe. For example: a count of +13 with 2 decks left is far better than a count of +16 with 5 decks left. The chances are much greater to get a face card if the count is high and there aren't a lot of total cards left than if the count is high, but there are still 250 cards in the shoe.
