Yes, it is officially called "Express Zone". There is another bank of elevators that serve the skipped floors.

Really, that's just like with the other buildings with observation decks, but I think the elevators will go into normal service after the storm repairs are done.

Correct - they are saying the elevators should be ready by late july. So far, there are still many boarded windows, since the glass has to be custom-ordered to match the color of existing windows. The made that mistake at the Georgia-Pacific building, and later had to treat the new windows to match the current ones.

I wish I were in those hotels in Atlanta so I can do the elevator hack which skips all floors. I hope those guests don't care whether they wait too long for the next elevator.

I would not mind at all since the employees are too damn lazy to wait for the service elevator. They are not supposed to use the guest ones, but they don't care at all.

Yes, for floor 72, I think the independent service mode puts the elevator into express mode, and the older term for this was "Non-Stop."

If you want to go to the SunDial, an attendant will take you to the top, since the Scenic elevators have been out-of-service due to the tornado.

Talk about fast, and was floor 72 locked off, and where was floor 71? Also, it's a nice elevator, even with the exisiting Otis logo on the doors.

Floor 71 is a part of the SunDial restaurant (71-73), and is served by one of the elevators. Look at one of my first videos to see it. For some stupid reason, the elevators have to be in independent service mode to be able to go to floor 72.
