  • Nuostabu.Kaip jus taip ji ismoket?Prasau, parasykit nors keleta patarimu kaip to ismokyti.

  • That's sooo cool! How did you learn the question - answer tricks? And the somersault?

  • @pipokoeie1

With questions and aswers I did not teach him any words or sounds, he learned them by himself. Then I encouraged him to repeat them by clicking and rewarding. Then I added a question before clicking and rewarding. And finally I started repeating the question until he gave the answer I wanted (with clicking and rewarding, of course).

He learned the somersault trick by following the treat (first on the perch, then on the finger).

  • @ruta99

That's very clever. I'm getting a new young cockatiel, so i can give that a try. Thanks for your answer.

  • @pipokoeie1

good luck with your new cockatiel!

  • @ruta99 how long did it take him to learn

  • @cosmmic1 I never count time whtn training animals to do something. there fore I can't answer your question. Somw tricks took one day only to learn, some can take weeks.

  • @ruta99 oh is because im trying to tech my cockateil bt she is slow at shes always scared and she wont be quite until she gets wat she wants i need help

  • @cosmmic1 Never train your bird when the bird is scared. First make ssure she is comfortable with you and with the surroundings. Alwyas give her favourite treats in the place where you want tio train her. And only when she is totally relaxed and focussed on the treats start the training. Better take small steps than try to acheive everything at once.

  • I took pictures of him. If you don't mind exchanging emails by private messages, I would send you the pictures of my bird and you can maybe take a look?

    I would appreciate this greatly.

    Thank you

  • Hi awesome tricks!

I have a question. My cockatiel has been losing feathers. It has been on for a while and I don't know what to do, it has never happened before. I don't know how old my cockatiel is, since it randomly flew inside my house and decided to stay with us.

I don't have the money to bring him to the vet, and I don't want to give him away because I think it will make him really sad. I had my mom take care of him/her at her house, and apperently he was really sad...

  • @t6urd

I think your bird is OK, he is just molting. All birds change their feathers regularly, don;t worry,, new shiny feathers will grow as the old ones are falling out. There should be some vitaminsfor molting birds in pet shops, you can also give him some hard boiled egg twice a week during molting, as the bird needs more protein for growing feathers. Also give thim possibility to bathe.
