The have colony wars to protect the crystals they use in their guns and their females as they are the only vespid that can collect the radioactive crystals that they use in their weapons
All we know about the Vespid is that their universal outlook is completely alien to the Tau, and they can communicate and relate to each other is through the Interface Helmets. We can infer their matriarchal, but aside from that, GW has yet to make any statements.
Are you sure? I read somewhere the Tau and Vespid allied because they have the same universal outlook, meaning the Vespid fight for the Greater Good (Whereas the Kroot only fight because they get paid) hence Vespid are more honoured and respected in the Tau Empire.
They're kroot mercenaries aren't they? So yes. According to games workshop kroot will therefore fight for other races in 40k. It's all about the highest bidder (sometimes anyway. Some kroot pledge allegiance to the Greater Good and what have you)
No, they work as Mercenaries for other races. A long time ago, the Tau had released the Kroot world Pech from an Ork invasion, and of r that the Kroot had joined the Greater Good and was sending hundreads of their kin to fight under the banner of the Tau Empire. The Vespids (from planet Vespid) had joined the Greter Good simply because they wanted to, making their view of the world the same as the Tau. I prefer Vespids, but Kroot have more units. Hope GW makes more Vespid units soon.
So hold on: Let me get this straight. The Kroot believe in the Greater Good? Or at least some of them do? I kinda see Vespids as the balance between Kroot and Tau. They have awesome ranged technology and can tear you apart limb from limb in close combat. So yea, More Vespid units would be desirable
@LogEekumenAgination No, the Kroot don't really believe in the Greater Good. They are just Mercenaries. They'll fight for anyone; for example in The Chapter's Due, they fight for Chaos, and in The Space Wolves Omnibus they fight along side Orks. I'm not even sure it was the T'au who go there first. I'm certain I've seen a fluff-log from an Imperial Guard ship that crashed on their planet. Meh, anyway, they're just Mercenaries. The T'au just have more contracts, but you can use them in any army.
@livingmylifeatmach2 The Tau and Kroot respect each other, and Kroot are technically a part of the Tau empire. They do other contracts for pretty much anyone, but they keep it secret from the Yau.
It would be cool if the Vespid got new units.

I had even made up some of them:
-Vespid Miners (drills)
-Vespid Guard (they use the crystals as blades for their spears)
-Vespid Neutron Tank (Neutron blasters on a tank)

cool! You should design a proxy codex for the Vespids
LogEekumenAgination 2 years ago
mah, I doubt it, I'm only 13 anyways.
ND999taufan 2 years ago
Well have you seen the proxy codex that is already available? Perhaps you can at least improve upon it.
