@Sylinic i didnt say passing laws on limiting people, i agree with that @MagicCryo guy, how he said you pretty much abuse anything. I'm just saying, if pot was to be legal, there has to be some sort of rules that say when and when not to smoke. I didnt even say limiting pot, let alone how much someone can smoke per day, I dont know where you got that from.
@johntothea "When and where not to smoke" A.K.A - Laws limiting people.
Now, if you mean you can't smoke in a restaurant where it might bother other people, I completely agree, but WHEN? That gives the impression you want a Marijuana curfew.
@johntothea You could say exactly the same thing about alcohol, you wouldn't turn up to work completely pissed. The difference is up to the person, not the substance.
Unfortunately, people have become so complacent with govt power that they dont even realize how out of touch the law of their land is with their own beliefs. My 10 year old son was watching the war on marijuana the other day on cnn or one of those other exploitation networks, telling me how people are killing each other over it.
I had to explane to a 10 year old how stupid people are over a plant that can heal the sick save the forests create a fuel source make clothing etc.......by the end of the conversation he said, "then why do you let these people run our world?".......I said it wasn't me, it's the other stupid people that believe thier lies..

Joe is simply wrong, based on studies conducted by Cambridge University cannabis useh as been linked to coronary heart disease, asthma, paranoid schizophrenia, and a myriad of other health complications. Moreover, it is true that many people can consume substances such as cannabis and experience no problems, this can also be said of prolonged alcohol consumption etc. However, it would be nonsensical to assert that consumption of these substances is not harmful, it simply contradicts the evidence
@whattyhoo I agree with you 100%. I would actually take it a step further and point out that the constant misinformation spread by activists like Rogan, regarding the health issues found in smoking pot is actually counterproductive to the cause, which is legalization right? If people instead focused on the absurdity involved in policing the behavior of people based on how healthy it is, we would get a lot farther. Smoking anything is bad for you, but so what its none of your business.
@whattyhoo Pot is harmless. Your argument is fucking stupid. You are fucking stupid. FYI: Health complications don't mean anything to this country or the U.S. Government. Right now I can drive to McDonalds, while using a tobacco product (the single most preventable cause of disease, disability, and death in the United States), eat a greasy heart attack in a bun, and then I can stop at the liquor store for a bottle of Jack on the way home... but watch out for marijuana!
@UntilWeMeetAgainVic At what point in my comment did I refer to the debate surrounding the legality of cannabis? I was simply pointing out that suggesting weed is a harmless substance is simply contradictory to the evidence. So maybe it is you who is ‘fucking stupid.’
@whattyhoo No, you're still the idiot. I wasn't talking about the legal side of marijuana either. You decided to type up a bunch of non-sense about health complications and I shoved that shit back into your mouth. Want to know the only thing that is dangerous about weed? It's outlawed by the Federal Government!
@whattyhoo I read the same article and if you look at the conclusion it specifically states "It is still rather early to speculate, given the need for a more precise cognitive neuropsycology of memory impairment in schizophrenia and the fact that many key experimental manipulations have yet to be made in association with these drugs(ketamine, thc). The only thing the study proved is that some substances can cause SYMPTOMS of a mental disorder, not the disease itself. Continued.....
@PackOfPeterJackson. Not once during my last comment did I refer to the debate on whether or not cannabis should or should not be legal. I was simply pointing out, that based on a recent medical study, a myriad of health conditions were linked to prolonged cannabis use, thus proving Joe's argument to be false or at least made in ignorance of the facts. My personal belief, is that prohibition in all forms is ultimately futile and causes more problems than it solves.
@whattyhoo The latest study showed faults in the study itself, due to many of the clients used in the study, were also using other drugs aswell. That is just one reason why the study needs to be redone with people that are not affected by stress in the first place, or taking other drugs. Remember creating a symptom of a health condition is not creating the health condition itself.
@PackOfPeterJackson Prolonged cannabis use had been linked to coronary heart disease. Moreover, paranoid schizophrenia has been inextricably linked with cannabis use. One famous case is the death of Bruce Lee whose cerebral oedema was later attributed to a malignant reaction to the alkaline found in cannabis (I would have thought Rogan would’ve been aware of this). By the way the study you have read is not the same study I have read, as it has not yet been published.
@whattyhoo Smoking(pretty much anything in excess) is bad for you. Smoking, lack of exercise, poor nutrition, are all factors in heart disease. I wonder if pot brownies will cause the same problems? It is not the substance itself that is the problem, yet irresponsible smokers. So does this unpublished study, also include the factors I mentioned? Will the study also include people who do not smoke at all yet rather eat it? Does it show how water bongs may decrease the risk?
@whattyhoo "Moreover, paranoid schizophrenia has been inextricably linked with cannabis use." So do these links to schizoprenia mean it is causing schizophrenia or are they saying it brings out schizophrenia in people who are already suseptable to having it? Yet I understand what you are trying to say, and yes over long term usage of playing with dopamine receptors, there will obviously be a period of the body building a dependency and withdraw. Yet once again responsibility is an issue.
@PackOfPeterJackson@PackOfPeterJackson The study is due to be published at the end of the academic year in th UK, which is around the end of May, I am part of a select committee whose purpose is to review cases, in particular there methodology. Regarding the subjects used for analysis, broadly ranged from habitual cannabis users to casual users to an exciting cooperative project with the University of Edinburgh who have pioneered the artificial growth of brain cells.
@whattyhoo "One famous case is the death of Bruce Lee whose cerebral oedema was later attributed to a malignant reaction to the alkaline found in cannabis ." Are you talking about David Miller? Can you say this is a proven fact to how he died.
@whattyhoo Why are you attacking cannabis? More deaths are caused each year by tobacco use than by all deaths from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle injuries, suicides, and murders combined (CDC). Watch out for weed though!
You don't have any clue what you're talking about.
@whattyhoo So in the methodology of the study, what is stated about casual use? Does your case study of chronic users also keep in mind stress factors before use? Do they look at genetics that may be related to schizoprenia? Do they take into account the health factor of using a water bong or just eating it? I ask not to be rude but out of curiosity to see if the methodology is sound.
@whattyhoo continued..... To conclude, is it the abuse of marijuana that really needs to be looked at? Is it the substance or the abuse( over usage) of smoking it that is the problem? I hope the commitee you are on also take into account people who do not smoke(anything at all) yet rather eat it. Other wise it will be flawed. Can you also tell me why schizophrenia is not on the rise in countries that have more usage of it?
@PackOfPeterJackson I see you have many questions, and they are good questions, look out for the report in May and I am positive many of your questions will be answered. I simply don’t have the time to go into them in any great depth here. Suffice to say the study was and is (it's on going) extensive and conducted independent of government intervention. Apparently, this study will be the focus of a documentary made by the BBC on mental health, so look out for that too.
@whattyhoo continued again...... I forgot to ask one more question, is the study including how much they exercise, medications they are on, and what kind of diet they hold? If the study takes everything into account then I will look at it, otherwise it will be a failed study due too the lack of information of other factors that may cause health issues. One more question, are you for the legalization of marijuana or against it. I for one see no problems with it when used wisely.
@whattyhoo continued again...... I forgot to ask one more question, is the study including how much they exercise, medications they are on, and what kind of diet they hold? One more question, are you for the legalization of marijuana or against it. I for one see no problems with it when used wisely.
@whattyhoo continued...... You may want to check out the article called "Interpreting Hazy Warnings About Pot and Mental Illness." We have evidence that driving cars are harmful, our technology is harmful, legal substances like cigarettes and alcohol are harmful, so it is pretty nonsensical for you to even use that as part of your argument to keep it illegal.
despite the want for recreational use the benefits for marijuana medically are outstanding. The way cannabis effects stress cant be compared to any other drug. PTSD veterans, people who are very depressed and other stress related problems all do and can further benefit individuals in stress/depressive pain
i remember when i was working at this contruction yard, everyday at lunch i would get ripped and go back to work...then one day i didnt smoke at all, and when i came back from lunch, my boss asked me "whats wrong? you smokin weed on your break!?" ....lmao on the one day i didnt smoke, he asks me that
its just pathetic in so many ways that we lock people up for smoking weed, but not alcoholics who drive drunk and get into fights
I hate when people compare pot to anything. The argument that people make comparing alcohol or fast food shows what pot does to your mind. Why not just say, "Yes, pot is not good for me but I enjoy getting high?" That's all it is and all any drug will ever be. Stop comparing, it doesn't make pot any better for you.
@chrisis138 you dont know what you're talking about....marijuana has almost zero negative side effects, the only thing i can think of is that it might trigger anxiety in some people
but its not linked to cancer, its not linked to addiction (maybe psychological addiction, but that can happen with anything, even washing your hands)
it makes zero sense to make marijuana illegal, while you can go down to the liquor store and drink yourself to death....it makes absolutely no sense at all
@MoRgUe27 Like I said, your argument comes back to comparing it to something else. By the way marijuana has 6x more cancer causing agents than cigarettes. Comparing doing drugs to washing your hands is ridiculous. Hey if you like to get high than admit that but please stop with the "harmless" bullshit talk. Joe Rogan is a moron.
@chrisis138 you are retarded, your fact is wrong and comparing washing your hands to smoking weed is not ridiculous because it is true they are both equally mentally addictive. .Smoke, be happy, and shut up.
@chrisis138 No, its not OCD its a mental addiction, if someone is mentally addicted to something they have to do it and someone can get a mental addiction to anything. So saying weed is bad because you can get addicted is stupid because you can get mentally addicted to just about anything and everything.
@OrganicChamistry your name is weak just like your ill informed beliefs, silly little human. It is illegal because we are all slaves to corporations that do not want us to think for ourselves. Psychedelics promote free thinking and envelope pushing creativity which i am sure u are not
@ebowass Promotes free thinking and creativity. Cite your source. Here's my source. Every addict I know comes across as lazy, or completely out of touch with reality. Maybe you are partially right. It's easier to become creative when you are unemployed on the couch with nothing to do, but daydream.
Rogan is pretty smart. My uncle smokes weed everyday and works everyday, never had a problem. He's 60 years old and going strong. He's been smoking weed since he was 14.
His argument sounds nice, "what are we gonna do oulaw forks because people can stab themselves in the eye"...but we DO outlaw drugs that have similar effects to marijuana (Vicodin, codene, etc.)
All of you anti-marijuana people are fucking stupid. It's all choice on what you consume in your own body. Like he said there are no known deaths to smoking marijuana, yea it might kill brain cells but lets not forget about Alcohol, And cigarettes as well, And people who abuse other various drugs. You need to get off your high horse and smoke a fuckin joint. "neutrons, brain cells and blah blah blah."
@dannyg706 The most and devastating effect of marijuana is its ability of declining cognitive development and interfering with memory. All of you who use pot know this fundamental fact. It in fact happened to you. Before you started using pot, your memory was okay. However, now that you started smoking, your memory reduced. Come on people THIS IS THE TRUTH!
Pot is the best cuz now am at the stage where I learn how to control my paranoia when high which is sweet because now I like the paranoia effect because I learn somthing new each time ,weed is the best for studying your own brain and feeling all your worse emotions that you bearly are in touch with and I think pot opens your mind more on your own wellbeing ,only 2 years ago I was in the army now am out and when I look bak I regret doing that lame bs when I could of just got a gf and some dank..
I have the love of GOD in my heart, I am a mma fighter and whan I want to relax I just read the Bible, or go take a walk in the beach, or sleep in the arms of my girl. No need for plants. Peace to you!
Let's not forget his assertion that marijuana never killed anyone. That's something potheads continually repeat, so they don't have to deal with the fact that Mexicans are murdered on a daily basis to bring them their next fix. I'd rather say it's addictive, than admit it's a harmless recreational drug I'm willing to do at the expense of human lives. It doesn't matter if they legalize it. Phillip Morris can't bring a taxed product to market and undercut the Mexican cartels. Not possible.
@twistedcross Only about 15% of the the marijuana in the US comes from Mexico. Plus Mexican weed sucks. About 75% comes from the West coast, grown by hard working honest Americans and is far more superior to Mexican weed. About 10% comes from Canada. Like I said before, Mexican weed fucking sucks, so yes, Phillip Morris or any other company will have no problem making cheaper and better weed than the junk that comes out of Mexico. The only reason its expensive is because of the risk involved.
@KatoKid85 Government statistics deny your assertion. There is little variability in pot. From street regs, to the genetically engineered (prohibitively expensive) weed in the government labs, there is minimal difference in THC load. 5% vs 15%. Remember that next time some salesman sells you Purple Jizz for 10x the price, when at best, it has twice the THC. Pro Tip: just buy regs and smoke 2 joints instead of 1. No, the majority of weed consumed in this country is not American.
@twistedcross Little variability in pot? You have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Have you ever smoked pot? Obviously not, because you would realize you are making no sense. Everything you just said in this comment is not correct. I dont even know where to start. GET A FUCKING CLUE!!
Nothing harmful at all with pot. The absolute only problem I could see arising from the legalization of marijuana would be the companies stripping the purity out of pot, by adding addictives and all the other bullshit they put in tobacco cigarettes.
@eyezick9 From all of the cells in our body, neurons are somewhat in very slower rate reproducing themselves. Why do you think as people age their brain deteriorates? Believe me Marijuana is the most and worst thing that you can do to your brain!!!
@thommelorus The effects of marijuana are dry mouth and throat, decreased social inhibitions, paranoia, hallucinations, impaired or reduced short-term memory, impaired or reduced comprehension, altered motivation and cognition, making the acquisition of new information difficult, psychological dependence, impairments in learning and memory, perception, and judgment, intense anxiety or panic attacks, and more.
@OrganicChamistry No no.. those are POSSIBLE side effects.. Dude I live in holland so i know more than enough about weed and alcohol and let me tell you this, and i dont care if you believe me but an alcohol addiction is a lot more destructive than smoking weed every week.. Any addiction can be dangerous but as a whole alcohol destroys your body.. Stop quoting wikipedia to me.
You, sir, are a tool of the establishment. I bet you go to bed tonight and cry, knowing that there are cannabis consumers all around you. I'd be willing to bet that at least 60% of the people you come in contact with everyday are smoking cannabis on a regular basis, and the kicker: you would never know.
@sk8extrem Anandamide is the brains own THC like compound! And our brain produce it in very low amount. Remember THC is not identical to Anandamide, however it can in fact bind to the Anandamide receptor and inhibit Anandamide from binding. It also alters the receptors active site in a long run. This simply reflects that THE MORE THC IN OUR BRAIN, THE MORE DAMAGE IT CAUSES TO THE RECEPTOR, AND IN TURN THE LESS LIKELY ANANDAMIDE BINDS TO THE RECEPTOR IN A REGULAR BASIS.
@OrganicChamistry can you provide a link to multiple studies supporting that claim? Also, if that's true, why can fighters like Nick Diaz compete on the highest levels while smoking marijuana?
@dropintospace 60%. Someone's been reading High Times. 70 million habitual addicts, which is about 22% of the population. That's why it's not legal yet. When you get to 40 or 50%, you might see it legalized. However, that's unlikely, since 40% of the population is not comprised of addicts.
@KatoKid85 Yes it does, but for how long is the question. The truth is that Marijuana kills brain cells which are the neurons. Once damaged, it takes a very long time to replace them. This is the fundamental and the truth.
@KatoKid85 Killing brain cells is what makes you high. Most importantly, teenagers are more susceptible since their brain cells are not fully developed. Source:Developmental psychology. Think about this; why is marijuana illegal? Ask yourself this question many times.
Right on Joe - I think he's on the money, and a questioning guy. It's notable he's still so succesful despite having so many anti-establishment opinions...
I'm 100% against the war on drugs but please, before people jump on my back at least properly read what I'm about to say, and that's the fact that Joe Rogan needs to watch out how he says there's not been a single death attributed to marijuana, because yes there has been no known cases of any disease like cancer due to marijuana, BUT, marijuana is a known relaxant and so the cases where death and marijuana have been linked are things such as accidents that have happened due to impaired reaction.
I'd like to once again stress that I am 100% against the war on drugs and for the legalization of marijuana. I'm not trying to be apologetic here, simply reemphasizing a point. In my previous post I was simply mentioning one of the arguments that anti-legalization people use against marijuana. Before any replies pointing out the obvious, yes I am aware that alcohol is also capable of impairing an individual and that tobacco is associated with cancer, yet they are still legalized.
its all about control and the plant doesnt fit in with there malthusian princaples they need people to live shorter lives once your 50 your a burden to the system the want to force people to die at younger ages so they can cycle in fresh slaves thats what we are to them checks and balances pos or neg 5 to 55 your a cash cow after that your just hamburger wake up america and fight while theres still time its running out

@PackOfPeterJackson @PackOfPeterJackson The study is due to be published at the end of the academic year in th UK, which is around the end of May, I am part of a select committee whose purpose is to review cases, in particular there methodology.

PackOfPeterJackson 1 week ago
@whattyhoo Why are you attacking cannabis? More deaths are caused each year by tobacco use than by all deaths from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle injuries, suicides, and murders combined (CDC). Watch out for weed though!
You don't have any clue what you're talking about.
UntilWeMeetAgainVic 1 week ago
@whattyhoo Stop blindly attacking this topic with your ignorance.
UntilWeMeetAgainVic 1 week ago
@whattyhoo So in the methodology of the study, what is stated about casual use? Does your case study of chronic users also keep in mind stress factors before use? Do they look at genetics that may be related to schizoprenia? Do they take into account the health factor of using a water bong or just eating it? I ask not to be rude but out of curiosity to see if the methodology is sound.
PackOfPeterJackson 1 week ago
@whattyhoo continued..... To conclude, is it the abuse of marijuana that really needs to be looked at? Is it the substance or the abuse( over usage) of smoking it that is the problem? I hope the commitee you are on also take into account people who do not smoke(anything at all) yet rather eat it. Other wise it will be flawed. Can you also tell me why schizophrenia is not on the rise in countries that have more usage of it?
PackOfPeterJackson 1 week ago
@PackOfPeterJackson I see you have many questions, and they are good questions, look out for the report in May and I am positive many of your questions will be answered. I simply don’t have the time to go into them in any great depth here. Suffice to say the study was and is (it's on going) extensive and conducted independent of government intervention. Apparently, this study will be the focus of a documentary made by the BBC on mental health, so look out for that too.

@whattyhoo Thanks I will keep an eye out for it.

PTSD veterans, people who are very depressed and other stress related problems all do and can further benefit individuals in stress/depressive pain

its just pathetic in so many ways that we lock people up for smoking weed, but not alcoholics who drive drunk and get into fights

I hate when people compare pot to anything. The argument that people make comparing alcohol or fast food shows what pot does to your mind. Why not just say, "Yes, pot is not good for me but I enjoy getting high?" That's all it is and all any drug will ever be. Stop comparing, it doesn't make pot any better for you.
chrisis138 3 weeks ago
@chrisis138 you dont know what you're talking about....marijuana has almost zero negative side effects, the only thing i can think of is that it might trigger anxiety in some people
but its not linked to cancer, its not linked to addiction (maybe psychological addiction, but that can happen with anything, even washing your hands)
it makes zero sense to make marijuana illegal, while you can go down to the liquor store and drink yourself to death....it makes absolutely no sense at all
MoRgUe27 2 weeks ago
@MoRgUe27 Like I said, your argument comes back to comparing it to something else. By the way marijuana has 6x more cancer causing agents than cigarettes. Comparing doing drugs to washing your hands is ridiculous. Hey if you like to get high than admit that but please stop with the "harmless" bullshit talk. Joe Rogan is a moron.

@chrisis138 you are retarded, your fact is wrong and comparing washing your hands to smoking weed is not ridiculous because it is true they are both equally mentally addictive. .Smoke, be happy, and shut up.
JordanNwr 2 weeks ago
@JordanNwr no, one is called OCD, while the other is getting high. So equally mentally addictive? Yeah, you are a fucking genius.
chrisis138 2 weeks ago
@chrisis138 No, its not OCD its a mental addiction, if someone is mentally addicted to something they have to do it and someone can get a mental addiction to anything. So saying weed is bad because you can get addicted is stupid because you can get mentally addicted to just about anything and everything.

@dannyg706 The most and devastating effect of marijuana is its ability of declining cognitive development and interfering with memory. All of you who use pot know this fundamental fact. Not possible.
twistedcross 1 month ago
@twistedcross Only about 15% of the the marijuana in the US comes from Mexico. Plus Mexican weed sucks. About 75% comes from the West coast, grown by hard working honest Americans and is far more superior to Mexican weed. About 10% comes from Canada. Like I said before, Mexican weed fucking sucks, so yes, Phillip Morris or any other company will have no problem making cheaper and better weed than the junk that comes out of Mexico. The only reason its expensive is because of the risk involved.
KatoKid85 1 month ago
@KatoKid85 The buds in Mexico are great these days actually. Not like a few years ago.
derangius 3 weeks ago
@KatoKid85 Government statistics deny your assertion. There is little variability in pot. From street regs, to the genetically engineered (prohibitively expensive) weed in the government labs, there is minimal difference in THC load. 5% vs 15%. Remember that next time some salesman sells you Purple Jizz for 10x the price, when at best, it has twice the THC. Pro Tip: just buy regs and smoke 2 joints instead of 1. No, the majority of weed consumed in this country is not American.
twistedcross 3 weeks ago
@twistedcross Little variability in pot? You have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Have you ever smoked pot? Obviously not, because you would realize you are making no sense. Everything you just said in this comment is not correct. I dont even know where to start. GET A FUCKING CLUE!!

dropintospace 3 weeks ago
@dropintospace I find it difficult arguing with pot-head like you! According to science THC is BAD to the human brain! especially for our CNS!
OrganicChamistry 3 weeks ago
@OrganicChamistry if its so bad why do we have THC receptors in are brain, simple answer its not bad for you. IT IS ALL NATURAL
sk8extrem 3 weeks ago
@sk8extrem You have opioid receptors too. Doesn't mean heroin is good...
I'm with you though, weed is fine.
mackinnon182 3 weeks ago

@dropintospace 60%. Someone's been reading High Times. 70 million habitual addicts, which is about 22% of the population. That's why it's not legal yet. When you get to 40 or 50%, you might see it legalized. However, that's unlikely, since 40% of the population is not comprised of addicts.
twistedcross 3 weeks ago
@OrganicChamistry Marijuana does not kill you brain cells. Infact it can stimulate certain areas of the brain. =)
KatoKid85 1 month ago
@KatoKid85 Yes it does, but for how long is the question. The truth is that Marijuana kills brain cells which are the neurons. Once damaged, it takes a very long time to replace them. This is the fundamental and the truth.

@OrganicChamistry Hmmm, I've seen studies that have shown the exact opposite, what is your source on this information? Thanks.

I'm 100% against the war on drugs but please, before people jump on my back at least properly read what I'm about to say, and that's the fact that Joe Rogan needs to watch out how he says there's not been a single death attributed to marijuana, because yes there has been no known cases of any disease like cancer due to marijuana, BUT, marijuana is a known relaxant and so the cases where death and marijuana have been linked are things such as accidents that have happened due to impaired reaction.
squishynoodle22 1 month ago
I'd like to once again stress that I am 100% against the war on drugs and for the legalization of marijuana. I'm not trying to be apologetic here, simply reemphasizing a point. In my previous post I was simply mentioning one of the arguments that anti-legalization people use against marijuana. Before any replies pointing out the obvious, yes I am aware that alcohol is also capable of impairing an individual and that tobacco is associated with cancer, yet they are still legalized.
