Cool live performance recorded for french tv show Chorus in 1979 (i think) at the Theatre de L'Empire (nearby les Champs Elysées). I remember the band playing "Dreaming" and "Will you listen" from "The Kids are the same" that was not out yet.

I saw these guys at Berkeley in 1979 they opened for DEVO Great show...great band!! I agree, waaaay better than the Knack.

I've seen them twice in the Bay Area. The last time 1987 at Puma's in Campbell. Fucking great band! Way better than the knack.

Great live band. Never understood why they didn't have more success; they were a better band than the Knack, with much better material, plus they were actually likable.

Well fartass23 ur right those guys are dead. I saw The beat at least 3 times in the bay area and and they kicked ass every time. I hated those assholes who would just stand there, so me and my friends would push our way to the front and annoy people so much that they would either start rockin with us or leave. The best fans were at The Ramones shows, we would have to rest a couple of times during their shows, no one was standing around. You would have loved it cus there were alot of good bands.

good god i would've loved to be at this show ... 2 of my favorite bands .. SHEEEEET! the sound in this video is also superb.
also give paul collins credit for rocking this song so hard with those zombies in the front
