Neil, Pessimistic much? At the time, there was no realistically usable answers for the first four. I see that you posted that at the onset of the video. Understanding that, it doesn't mean it won't be produced.
yeah since he's answering questons, why were the EV's pulled, which coincided with california's passing of 10% no emmision car mandate? i smell car manufacturers in cahoots with big oil. there's only that explanation.
notice now that demand since 2007 has fallen for oil. and people are searching for alternatives to oil totally. the first manufacturer that puts out an electric car is going to be a cash cow.
how does it heated in the cold winters of northern climants? Also there is little comany in canida that are takeing the prius, retrofitting w/ same type bat and basicly doing the same exact thing. Hymotion is the name and there not even a fort 500 company. ps. Toyota is already selling PHEVs in japan.
LIAR! LIAR! PANTS ON FIRE! You want to sell a real EV about as much as I want to marry an alligator.
You don't want to sell EVs because you know you'll never be able to sell us tune-ups, oil changes, fan belts, mufflers, catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, clutches, timing belts, transmission overhauls, or a thousand other parts or services EVs don't need.
Why not build it now with available technology and have next year's model get the miracle which isn't currently available? 10 plug in miles would be way ahead of the 100% gas powered Prius.
haha. Well, this is what I'd like to see. To see what it is you guys are thinking. I have to say, after owning laptops for years, and seeing that after about 2 years reguardless of usage the batteries deplete! lithium batteries. Please just use the NiMH batteries. they are proven, and have great range. Who cares about density, we want something that works! and keeps working. for more than 50 miles on electricity. Do what you did with the EV1 give us a car with NiMH that can travel for 140miles
I bet GM will fire this guy. Also only lease those cars. And then take them back. And finally scrap them.(this is also assuming that they will even release it)
I'm so excited to see GM addressing questions about Volt. Its very early yet so he cannot be expected to present everything. That much is understandable to me. Nick provides a fair response. Keep it honest!
GM needs to hurry up and get the Volt designed and built, with an effort similar to Toyota's for the Prius. They really need a market other than SUVs.
Don't be dumb. Why exactly would GM give out specifics beforehand such as pricing and production timeline to give its competitors the upper-hand? Any other manufacturer would do the same thing and keep quiet until it is ready. It's common sense.
@Neil2112 - Yes it will! GM has over 200 engineers and 50 designers working on this vehicle alone and has put a considerable amount of money into the project. If they put so much into the Volt project, don't you think that they intend to build it? The only thing slowing the process down is battery technology.
can you give us a link to your blog? you mentioned writing you at fast flame or fast lane blog. I can't find it. Please send me a link, or post it here. I would like to write you!
ok great. so where and when can I buy one? for the first time in my life, I'm learning the meaning of the phrase "talk is cheap". who would know it would be GM that would teach me this lesson. Lithium batteries not ready yet? yeah right. this car will never be sold to the public. I don't believe you. Build the EV-1 again, that was a great car! then people will believe you again. I will!
tax credit = $7,500

I like this car but I am not able to aford 30k. this car needs to be 12k to 15k for most of us. how about that GM? can you make it for the masses.
CHUCKWAGON1009 3 years ago 2
The price will be way to high for 95% of us.
They have it all together pay GM instead the oil company. The public will be the big loser
and the planet.

that cost about 40K+ to buy. plus retrofitting the prius voids your warranty.

1. When will production begin: don't know, we're waiting for Lithium miracles.
2. Where will production take place: why not use EV1 plant, it's empty.
3. How much? Some offered 50 thou for a new EV1, GM would not sell.

GM needs to FORCE Cobasys (chevron) to release their patent on NIMH!
anthonycut 4 years ago 3
Yeah, if GM really wanted to get his out, they would crush chevron and and bring out NiMH patent out.

Hmm. Next on GM's assassination list is Lithium. Lithium will be the next Cobasys Shenanigan.
