I have a problem with the pull offs. from the B string up. Feels like the string below it is in the way.

If anyone has any advice, please let me know.

  • Hi - you need to mute out all the other strings so there is no unwanted string noise. I have lessons on this muting technique - go to the website at next level guitar dotcom and look for the string muting lesson in the intermediate lead master classes section - use the free pass on the home page to get video access take care and rock oN!

  • @srincrivel1 hahhahahahahha to funny!!!

  • That's the scale used in the intro to Welcome to The Jungle, am I right?

  • E minor shouldn't be the first scale taught. Am/C Major should. E/G Major has an F#, and it's better if you work your way up one key at a time in order added one more sharp.

  • @XICEKILLERX123 Em is easier to learn on the acoustic though.

  • @DCooper720 Do you think the greats took the easy way out? If they were too all learn things that were easier to play you wouldn't have the greats. Any one of your favorite guitarists are extraordinary guitarists and are have their own sound. You don't become a great, nor an individual through just learning what is easier first.

  • @XICEKILLERX123 EVERY guitar player out there had to start somewhere. Hendrix didn't just pick up a guitar for the first time and blow people socks off, even he started out strumming G C D chords. It is important to start with the easy stuff so you have a strong foundation when you go to learn more advanced stuff.

  • @DCooper720 Of course it's good to start off with something easy to have a good foundation, but why start with a key that already has an f# in it? There is a key that doesn't have any sharps that is a lot common and gives you a better understanding if you learn it first. Learn guitar like building blocks, it's just better if you start on the first level, you are starting on the second.

  • Check out my channel, I've been playing guitar for two years and the very first scale I learned was Am pentatonic, later learned C major, then worked through every key chronologically, guitar is nothing more than a hobby for me and I don't think I sound bad. How long have you been playing guitar? Because if you're inexperienced than that is what I recommend. If you are more experienced, then stop being so full of yourself.

  • @XICEKILLERX123 I'm not being "full of myself" I'm giving beginners good advice to start with the basics and move their way up from there. Just because you learned guitar a certain way doesn't mean everyone else has to do it exactly the same.

  • @DCooper720 I agree with you, you should start with the basics and move there way up. A good example of that is moving from C major (no sharps) to G major (1 sharp) to D Major (2 sharps) so on and thus forth.. you've simply started at stage two. If people want to truly become good and grasp a great understanding of scales, learning C major first works, everything revolves around each other so well.

  • @XICEKILLERX123 except on acoustic the E minor is much easier to learn on due to the open strings

  • @DCooper720 But what you said is you should start off with the basics and work your way up. Just because it's easier for you doesn't mean that its more basic. Take your own advice and start with the basics like C major, what is more basic that the scale to "do re me fa so la te do". Defiantly not E minor pentatonic.

  • @XICEKILLERX123 Mabye C major is more basic theory wise but not easier to play on an acoustic guitar

  • @DCooper720 With all millions of people that play guitar there is no way to dictate which way is 'easier' that is individual to each guitarist. What can be determined is which is easier theoretically. Actually with this exact scale it can either belong to either G Major or C Major so if you put it in perspective of E Phyrgian then this would both combine your biased opinion with mine. Yet if you think about it in G major then you only think about it being easier, which isn't too productive.

  • @XICEKILLERX123 music is about being "artistic" not "productive"

  • @DCooper720 You can't tell me that being productive wont lead to artistic benefit. Both those words musically come hand and hand so you can't really say one is more important than the other.

  • @XICEKILLERX123 Ok you win. My teaching style AND next level guitar's is completely wrong. Happy?

  • @DCooper720 Very

  • @XICEKILLERX123 Well I'm glad.

  • @DCooper720 Good

  • @XICEKILLERX123 and Em pentatonic doesn't have an F# btw

  • @DCooper720 I know it doesn't have an f# but it's the relative minor of a Major key that has an f#. It's a fools game to only learn the relative minor of a key. You limit your learning and understanding by not learning G major as well. This is all of course not putting modes into the equation.

  • thank you
