@piranha031091 With this circuit you can't choose a frequency. I am guessing the closest station is loudest. You need a tuned circuit (tank circuit) using a ferrite and adjustable capacitor. with this you get resonance selection and efficiency This was an interesting demo though as it is so simple. Don't hook your telephone wire to the wrong pin on the outlet or all hell will break loose LOL.
@gilbondfacnot sure but think maybe a diode need to attached to the capacitor to ensure the energy flows one way into the capacitor. You probably know more about it but i love to see a circuit diagram of what this would look like and eventually try it out. first though wanna try another idea of a suspended electromagnet (nail/wire) that pull up a small iron bar. This bar acts as a switch so when pulled up , breaks contact, is dropped, re-establish contact ect..... jumping iron bar!!!
very cool

How do you choose the received frequency?

is there any way to drain the energy recieved into a capacitor to build up a charge ? if
so u might be able to hook it up to an electromagnet that could drive a small pendulum when the capacitor discharges.
