  • Community colleges usually have better values than major universities.

  • Uniiversitys and State collges are real college not community. Community College is for people who fooleda round in high skool and didnt fill out real applicatioons to reall college so they got stuck in there town at a community college. You will never get the real college experience at a COMMUNITY COLLEGE!

  • @MrRoberts169 I didn't fool around in high school. I choose a community college because the tuition is far more cheaper than the state college I was looking at. The way I see it, I won't be in debt by the time I graduate, while everyone else who 'went away' will be paying off their student loans by the time they are about 30. :)

  • p.s. i think its funny how cool you think you are for going to a community college

  • @summergirl1123 A community college is a 'real' school. A community college is one of many other community schools that branch off of a major university. The education is the same. The only difference is that it allows students to live at home and keep a part-time job. It allows adults to easily go back to school while running a family and a job, and it isn't as exspensive. I'm NOT going to be in debt when I graduate, while other students are still paying off loans years later.

  • @glitterguitargoddess really they say all that stuff about community college to make the loser kids who go there feel better about themselves

  • really, do you really think you should be do a college survival guide for community college! for everyone who wants to know community college is one step up from high school. it doesnt even count as a college if you go to community college its time to wake up and do something more with your life...GO TO A REAL SCHOOL

  • Independent?? You live at home...

  • wats deans list? is dean like a princalple?

  • @punkprincess91011 Yes! The Dean's List is basically the honor roll in college! :)

  • i go to a community college

  • I still watch stuff like this even though im in 6th grade lol:) i just cant wate for college!

  • @123SOAWSOME Enjoy middle school and high school while you can!! You're saying you can't wait for college and stuff and I was like that when I was your age. (I'm a Sophomore in High School now) but enjoy everything, especially in middle school. I use to want to leave so bad, but looking back those years were so easy and fun. If I could, i would relive those years. And freshman year. It only gets harder and harder.

  • Gonna go to a community college in half a year once a graduate high school. I like this video! Gives me a better understanding of what's to come soon. :)

  • @yuliya304 Yay! I'm so glad! :)

  • i so agree with alot of older folks that are in a community college.

  • have you transferred after community college? if so, can you do a video about the transition for a transfer student? I'm worried because everyone will already have friends! thanks so much :)

  • @lilybeanification I have not. I've been going to the same school all four years. I'm graduating in a few months, but don't worry about the transition! I know people who have done it and have made new friends with ease! You'll have a dorm-mate to start out with + their friends! :) :) :)

  • i love your username :3

  • @KataraZuko Thank you! :)

  • @TwoTwo867 community college is cheaper :) I'm planning on doing some college here, but then doing my really important stuff in Austrian universities.

  • how are you in a community college for 3 years? An AA degree only takes 2...

  • @elitestar This is true, but there are actually some community colleges out there that have 4 year degrees! The one that I went to before I transferred had a few.

  • @elitestar I'm getting my BA. :)

  • I'm studying right now my eyes are watering from pain

  • i love your necklace

  • @gikasha Thanks! :)

  • Thanks for sharing :)

  • @tributetoandreagassi You're welcome :)

  • Not quite what I was looking for but helpful non the less. Thank you.

  • you're cute

  • I'm starting at a community college tomorrow and I have a question for you. I have no idea what to bring. Obviously my books, a pencil, and a notebook. But beyond that, I'm screwed. I've been braindead from fear.

  • @queenofchikens Get a 3-ring binder to put all of your stuff in. I'm going to send you my last year's version of my back-to-school organization video. :)

  • Do I hear Wisconsin in there?

  • @hickasblankets Nope. Haha! :)

  • @glitterguitargoddess

Thanks for the very down to earth video! Can I ask you about how you are able to pay for tuition and how to get money? I''m so worried about not having enough money during college, actually I've been in college for a while now and it's just starting to hit me that I need to be more independent.

  • @YellowLittleDucky You're welcome! I have a part-time job and my parents help me out. Plus, I have a scholarship for my grades because I did really well. Make sure you keep up your grades because they might award you for them. I just got a really nice scholarship for doing well the past 3 years, so I get to use it this year. I also don't go away to school. I'm at a community college which is WAY cheaper. I highly recommend transferring to one if you need to. It saves money! :)

  • @glitterguitargoddess I went to university for 3 years and I am transferring to a community college. Due to a learning disorder, I had pretty bad grades in university but it has improved just by getting diagnosis. It never made sense why I always did bad. I never partied. In my experience, I have seen a lot of 4 year college grads get out and can not sustain a career because their major wasn't marketable in my area. I just feel pretty guilty bc my parents pay everything.

  • @glitterguitargoddess (I also hope to re-transfer to university eventually, now that I have found a lot of missing answers to why I could not do well).

Out of curiosity, what are you studying?

And may I say, you are one of the kindest girls I have encountered ^.^

Wish you all the best as well!

  • @YellowLittleDucky Aw, I'm sorry to hear that, but I wish you an AMAZING senior year!!! I'm studying Communications. How about you? And thank you so much!!! You are SO sweet!!! :)

  • @glitterguitargoddess

Thank you so much! I am going into my first year of nursing, which is relatively secure in terms of finding a job. While I am studying for my 2 year degree, I also plan on applying for the 4 year degree because I have acquired all the pre-requsites. My community college also offers the 4 year program too, so I will be applying for that too. I consider myself "redeemed" in terms fixing my academic path. Still have a long way to go!

  • @glitterguitargoddess

So it was kind of like knocking a whole crappy building down and rebuilding it in much better quality and a stronger foundation once I learned how to learn. I will still be considered a junior though but I was accepted on a competitive basis, sort of lucky in a way too. Did you know that most people take more than four years to find a career? It's also quite trendy to switch to a second career these days as well.

  • @YellowLittleDucky Well, I'm glad everything is working out for you now. :) Yeah, these time are tough finding a job nowadays. When you're little, they tell you that graduating college will automatically get you a job, but they don't tell you the actual truth.

  • @glitterguitargoddess I agree with you. Going to university does not mean you will get a decent career in your desired field, but a lot of universities market well and put a lot of emphasis on the prestige of a 4 year degree. But social networking helps find jobs, I guess it's good for that. I also found community college to be much more honest with students. I hope the economy picks up for your area, I live in Canada. We not super affected by the recession.

  • @YellowLittleDucky Yes, social networking and knowing people definitely DOES help get your foot in the door! Best of luck to you in your endeavors! :)

  • @AlisonandTigger Exactly! It feels good to save all that money! Haha! Have a great school year!!! :)

  • @AlisonandTigger *Virtual High 5* :)

  • Very reassuring thanks!

  • @girlygirllexy You're welcome! Feel free to subscribe! I have more back-to-school videos coming up! :)

  • i agree with you, it's awesome to have adults in your class. My friend who is like 27 years old was in my math class. Then, I met other people that were like 24 years old in that class. Adults are not that different from the rest of us. They're pretty cool. :D

  • @jasminka1991 Yeah, it is because you get to listen to their points of view and it's really interesting. :)

  • @glitterguitargoddess yeah it is :D

  • If my parents were paying for college, I would want to do well more so because it is their money. What gives me the right to waste someone else's money?

  • you are awesome.

  • @chillipeanuts Aw, thanks! :)

  • This is really helpful. I'm living on campus at a small private college now and next semester I'm transferring to a huge state university and commuting from home.

  • @rachieroo13 I'm glad you found it helpful! It's nice still living at home. :)

  • awesome video. Loved it! Thanks about saying about the books. Its good to know :)

  • @3717cg13 Thank you so much! I'm glad that you enjoyed it. You're welcome. It's always nice to save some money. :)

  • I am a junior too! I have been going to a community college to but I have to transfer to a different university because mine is only a 2 year program! I start next week! Where did the summer go!! What is your major?

  • @Mandyv08 Awesome!!! Hopefully it's still close to you. I know! The summer seems to always fly by so fast. My major is Communications. How about you? :)

  • @glitterguitargoddess I am able to commute, which is amazing, I did not/do not want to leave home! I am majoring Elementary education with a concentration in math. Communications sounds fun too, my sister has a major in that! She liked it.

  • @Mandyv08 That's good! That's a great major! Being a teacher is a wonderful job. Communications is fun! I love that stuff. :)

  • I was watching this with my cousin who is going to collage i dunno if it is the same as in england but what you said abput having a bond with teachers in out secondary/high school we hae 5 lessons and a different teacher every lesson and we only see them like twice a week and they say it is to start the seperation I Dunno why i just told you tht.

    Enjoy Collage .x.x Jess

  • Yeah, they start preparing you for college early, so it's not a really big shocker when you get into college. :)

  • Hi Michelle! I was waiting for this video! :-) The German system is so different from what you guys have in America. When I went to University there were about 600 people in one class. In my first year I had class from 8 in the morning till 8 in the evening. For my first finals I studied about 18-20h a day because I had to look over hunderds of pages. Your first 4 years are kind of "general", right?

  • @Glitzersternchen089 Wow!!! 600 people in one class??? That's HUGE! And your hours are all day! That's crazy. I don't know how you do it. My first year is just the general classes and then the rest are towards my major (my area of study). :)

  • @glitterguitargoddess Honestly, I don't know how I went through this time, it was sooo exhausting! :-) Now I am happy because I graduated a while ago! :-) We don't pay for the education like you do. There is just a small fee of 500€ each Semester. That is why there are so many students. Is your major something you can choose? In Germany you can only choose what you want to become in your future, like a med. Doc. or an engeineer and than your class schedule is fixed from day one till the end.

  • @Glitzersternchen089 Yes, your major is whatever you want it to be. It's whatever career you want in the future. :)

  • @glitterguitargoddess Since you are half German and you can speak German you should think about spending a semester in Germany. I kind of regret that I never went to America for a semester. I was so afraid of language difficulties. :-)
