  • It goes:

    Chrono Cross - "Reminiscence"

Chrono Trigger - "Chrono Trigger" (main theme)

Chrono Cross - "Time's Scar" (main theme)

    Chrono Trigger - "Frog's Theme"

Highly recommend looking into both soundtracks!

  • @TruePlank Don't forget that Frog's Theme transitions into "To Far Away Times", also from Chrono Trigger. The sequence is taken directly from the FMV ending made for the PSX release of CT, but this arrangement is about 50 times as awesome.

  • I can't wait to see them! It's gonna be awesome sauce!!

  • Play! Is finally coming to my city...after so many years...absolutely thrilled.

  • It's amazing!!! One of the best RPG's I've ever played. This interpretation is perfect. A lot of feeling...

  • i can feel the epoch flyin

  • sory never heard of this game, but i think ive heard this song before but cannt remember where i heard it from

  • Everytime I watch this video, I always end up crying because the music is so good. And it brings back fond memories of me playing this game. It was one of the first games that I have ever beaten

  • Anybody knows how can I get those Scores of this Concert? I'm a condoctor and really would like to play this work piece with my orchestra. OR if you 've have how to contact how has it, please let me know. thank you.

  • @steam4o

Fail, im from sweden, the capital of Sweden is Stockholm.

  • @MrDarkInzain Did i say Anything about stockholm was in Norway? PLAY! is also in the capital of Norway, Oslo!! think a little bit before you comment..

  • are you fucking retarded? do you think stockholm is in usa?

  • I know its in sweden, but still,

  • What is the name of the last song?

  • PLAY! A Video Game Symphony - Chrono Trigger-Cross Medley read the info mate xD

  • wow this gave me goosebumps

  • I love this medley... but.... it really did end weakly. After all that music that was invigorating and emotional, all they can do is end the final song with a held note? I wish they could have created an appropriate ending or used a song that had a suitable ending. Still a fantastic medley performed just as fantastically.

  • I agree with you here. They should've ended this piece with a flourish to keep with the emotional consistency. The conclusion would've been better had there been a section from an original work (a la what Jonne Valtonen did with Symphonic Fantasies--specifically the Final Fantasy medley).

  • What is the first song called?

  • the songs are from the chrono game series the first song if from chrono trigger and the ones at the end are from chrono cross

  • The way they do Frog's theme is absolutly epic! never or can't even find anywhere else that can do frog's theme like they can!!

  • omg this song is so beautiful

  • amo esta cancion!!!!!!!

  • orgasmo geek/musical :e

  • @juanheloreloaded EARgasmo XD

  • I saw them at Cary, NC. They played this and pwned it! :D

  • Varför i hellvete gick jag inte dit!!!!!!????

  • missed them when they were in sweden.. man im so mad about that!

  • Me to!!! Aaarrggg whant to see them!!!

  • This. Is. AMAZING. I'm incredibly upset that I missed them in Ohio....!!!

  • The on in Dayton? Yeah. I kick msyelf in the butt over that one too.

  • Tell me about it. . . X(

  • GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! THEY HAD A PERFORMANCE WITHIN MY PROVINCE (only a 2-3 hour drive away!) BUT I COULDN'T MAKE IT!!

    I was/still am kinda crushed.

But this is really nice to listen to...everytime I do I get a little bit teary eyed (especially in the beginning with the piano). Sigh.

  • Please, Play! in México!

  • going to dayton for this tonight!

  • Hell yeah, I was there 2night 2! front seats in the loge, F*ing amazing, especially Oblivion, but Anything related to Chrono Trigger/Cross is amazing as well Nobuo Uematsu RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude i was there too!! i was in the 4th row. it was fickin crazy!!! god..i loved it. i liked the mario and sonic, and oblivion songs. and i loved the frickin one winged angel at the end!

    sephiroth! lol

  • gah me too. i think i was 3rd row actually. it was brilliant. i went to Video Games Live in Kalamazoo, Michigan in March, and it was amazing too-they did Chrono Trigger music and One Winged Angel too

  • they're in my city april 18th...cant wait!!

  • same here.

  • lol hell yea man...i never wudve dreamed that they wud come to dayton. i was like "fuck yes!!"

  • i wish yasunori mitsuda and nobuo uematsu would just have a Chrono Cross/Trigger tour... sigh... i could die in peace if that ever happened

  • The march part reminds me Starfox a liiiiiiiiitle.

  • i agree

  • I missed this. :( Although i didnt miss the Final Fantasy a world apart that played in stockholm. :P

  • I saw this yesterday in stockholm, they played this exact same peice :D

  • I was there too. It was awesome :). Though, I got a little disappointed that they didn't play any boss-music from Zelda :<

  • Yeah! We needed to hear boss themes and the castle theme from Zelda 2 too! But it was still awesome haha :)

There should have been some MGS and more FF too though...

  • They should've played for at least one more hour, that would've been awesome. I have this piece recorded with DV-cam from the 19th of march, uploading all my vids from there today :)

  • i wish i was there...

  • Soooooo awsome

  • this is just awesome!!!

  • I think that this might be the best thing I have ever heard in my whole life.

  • Fucking snare...

  • This music is amazing. Reminds me of my youth. The embellished arrangement of Reminiscence is absolutely beautiful. My favorite part by far is the French horn. Of course, I'm biased. French horn players for the win. Amazing depth and tone quality. 6 stars out of 2. Haha.

  • this song is the best, in 3:34 wao, i just love the power of the brass (trumpet specialy)

  • My jaw hit the floor. Amazing....

  • Sucks they cut Chrono Trigger from the CD and just have the Cross section. Wonder what happened?

  • Just like the Chrono Trigger that was made in 3D as a fan-project (and it looked amazing too), square cut it out.

  • Good point. Guess they don't give a shit about Chrono Cross lol

  • From which game is the music?

  • its from the BEST videogame ever made.. CHRONO TRIGGER

  • and parts are from Chrono Cross, it's sequal. ahh, Time's Scar gets me everytime.

  • I love the way they did Frog's theme, I keep bumping the track back to the start of it every time I finish.

  • this is honestly my favorite video on youtube, and perhaps ever

  • I'm going to the concert this Friday. Oh God, I am going to cry during this one..

  • Went to the same concert as you yesterday. They left this piece out! >:O

  • I KNOW! They didn't do ANY FFs, either! Oh well, if they didn't do Castlevania at the end I woulda been really down..

  • what means FF?

  • final fantasy!

  • I was so sad they didn't play CT/FF here in Edmonton. There is another Play! coming this summer to Winnipeg and I am going to hit it on my truck back to NS in hopes of hearing FF/CT.

  • Thanks NOBUO UEMATSU. You're a HUGE composer. BRAVO, MAESTRO!

  • The arrangements are AWESOME. Who's the ochestra?

  • PLAY!, a traveling symphony

  • It is Yasunori Mitsuda who compose the song, sorry to bump.

  • Well, indeed the Chrono Trigger compostitons were made in the beginning by Yasunori Mitsuda but he fell ill and Nobuo Uematsu finished the tracks. Chrono Cross was made, the whole tracks, by Yasunori Mitsuda.

So, I guess you're right, at least, at some certain point ;D.

Thanks for "the bump" mate (and wikipedia! ;D) ;D there's nothing to sorry about. A DARLE!

  • Mitsuda did 54 tracks for Chrono Trigger. Uematsu did 10 to finish it up after Mitsuda put himself in the hospital.

  • And Noriko Matsueda did compose a song, but arranged by Uematsu. IIRC It is Boss Battle 1

  • i don't understand why they don't do this at every concert

  • man, no matter how many times i hear this, Im always about to break a tear when I listen the chrono trigger intro =D

    awesome

  • GO SWEDEN WE RULE!!!

  • These people breath life into music deeply embedded in our memories. Like poets without words, they've managed to draw out the deepest, fondest of emotions from within.

I would love to go to one of their concerts in person. Youtube grants only a small taste of what this experience must be like.

  • agreed overlord.

  • Music is a lot more than "just a song" when you really appreciate it.

  • ;D You're F***ing right j3s0n. The amazing of music (like art in general) is that the appreciation comes from very very different perspectives and feedback itself with each perspective; from the composer, from the arranger, from the player and then from the listener. I just LOVE music, and this is one of the most touching experiences I've ever had as a musician and as a music lover. Thanks skriber and Thanks Nobuo Uematsu.

  • @j3s0n soooooo true

  • @j3s0n damn right....

  • SOME PLZ TELL ME

WHAT IS THAT PIANO SONG FROM CHRONO TRIGGER

i've never played the game sadly but nwo i want to... AND OMFG

PLZ SOMEONE TELL ME THE NAME OF THAT SONG OR GIMME THE SHEET MUSIC AHHHHHHHHHHH

omfg i loved this it was awesome

    so beautiful

I wish i could play piano and have a whole symphony playing with me supporting the main lead.

  • Uhmm the song from the intro was chrono cross, and the title was "Chrono Cross Music - Reminiscing ~Unerasable Memory~" There's a video with that exact name.

  • Ay thanx man

  • this.. is... AMAZING =D

  • THIs is FREakin awesome!

  • that guy in the red playing percussion is awesome lol.

  • haha yeah. he's really groovin to the beat.

  • watch him in the play! videos for the battlefield series. ridiculous

  • nothing more beautiful than the perfect harmonical movements of the artists

  • dont forget halo 3

  • i remember chrono trigger being the first game i bought with my own money, and it was also one of the first rpgs i played, its such a deep story, i mean you kinda see it coming the whole save the world, but the story under that with chrono and marle, i've never seen that in any other game, the music really made you feel the moment, the music when you meet belthasar, just made me feel lonley as hell... cant wait for the DS version

  • DS version???

  • Nintendo appears to be bringing back a lot of old games. All I can say is... ABOUT !@#$#! TIME!!!!!

  • Yeah, a remake of Chrono Trigger, it comes out around November 25. Something to be thankful for ;)

  • Not a remake, just a port. The game is the same but you can play it on DS, same as with the FFVI port. At least as far as I know, I would be THRILLED if it was a true remake.

  • will the game have the anime cutscenes from the playstation version?

  • Last I checked yes.

  • there is at least one new dungeon(i think it's really an old one that didn't make into the original one, but awesome to say the least)

  • most of the old school RPG games were great (and still are) because, aside from having a great storyline, the music they used had a way of setting the right mood. at least that's what i always felt.

  • what makes a great game is a great selection of music. i mean i played oblivion and the music just make me feel like i belong in that world.

  • yes I totally agree... When I played oblivion for the first time... the intro movie music sucked me in to the story line like nothing else. The calm passing music made me feel like I should, and do, belong in the world... Loved it so much I bought the soundtrack to the game... absolutely beautiful

  • True, but as well as great, the music must also fit the scene/area. I have seen a couple games where the music was great, but didn't fit the area at all.

  • will Developers ever ever be able to make games like this again? ö,ö *sniff*

  • No. They're too busy trying to sell "good looking" games. And people are buying into it hardcore.

Granted, I'm generalizing. There are plenty of good games that have come out recently, but not like the good old days.

At least we lived in this time and got to be there and play them.

  • amen vincent, so tru

  • nothing can top chrono trigger

  • Chronotrigger definitely has a special place in my heart, but Knights of the Old Republic comes in as a close second for rpgs.

  • Ahh for me its chronotrigger, then FF7 then KotOR / mass effect

  • Go Lufia!!! (2)

  • never kept interest long enough to beat it but the story was really good.

  • I really love that song from 1:47 till 3:03

    It is Chrono´s Theme right????

  • Indeed it is. And a theme that gets repeated in various forms and keys through much of the Chrono series.

  • Die Labos!!! ULTIMA!!

  • man i'd love to see something like this. Or movie themes.. something from hanz zimmer etc.

  • lol John Travolta playing percussion.

  • Just to let you all know that they are recording at the Rudolfinum on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 to put it on CD to release it in either June or July. Woohoo!

  • It would be nice if they made a dvd on live or something.

  • i wonder how u get into this ensemble

  • why didnt i go attend this? i hate my self.

  • Don't worry man, you aint the only one! XD

  • I thank everyone that posted videos from this concert. I didn't know that anything like this existed. Listening to this music brings tears to my eyes, because it's all music that I know so well, and love dearly.

I wish something like this would come to where I live. If I saw this live, I'd probably cry my heart out.

  • It brings tears to my eyes.

  • It gives you tears and goosebumps at home, what will give you in audience?

  • Exactly the same thing...for almost every song played. I was present. *brags*

  • In audience? I would bust in my pants.

  • I just saw Video Games Live two nights ago, and I wish I could attend more video game concerts...why the heck don't they come to SAN FRANCISCO?!

This is such a beautiful piece...

  • they do everything in san fran and chicago! never in ny!!! im in nj and of course they wont do anything here but i can go to ny easier than those!!!!

  • i love lala ^^

  • Now we know that perfection can be acheived in this world. This is the best performance of CC/CT that as ever been performed, and ever will.

  • wow gamer music has come a LONG way.... man I loved that symphony we even got 2 encores!!

  • Why they never bring PLAY to New York. Greatest City in the whole world my ass, former mayor Mr. Giuliani!!!

  • i COMPLETELY agree with you.... why, of all cities, for this not to come too, is new york one of them?

    it just doesn't make sense....

  • Chicago > New York... but idk why they wouldent have it there too....

  • chicago is nice, but NY is center of the known universe.

    it just doesn't make sense....

  • To you.... i recall Earth being the center of the solar system to some people.... turns out they were wrong... not wanting to get into an arguement im going to say thats your oppinion...

  • jeez... grow a sense of humor.

  • Few pieces can touch my heart like the 'Chron Trigger/Chrono Cross' symphony here. So stunningly beautiful and epic.

  • I've heard "To the outskirts of time" and I haven't notice any similarity with the track from the concert. Is there any symphonical album with CT music where I can find this version (or at least similar)?

  • It's at 2:10 in the video called Chrono Trigger cut scenes (to far away music). Same music, but of course it sounds drastically different.

  • Im going to see them tomorrow

  • Actually...whoops. You're talking about the part that comes after Frog's Theme. That bit of music is an excerpt from the ending theme to Chrono Trigger called: "To the Outskirts of Time." Although it is often also called: "To Far Away Times."

  • Frog's Theme

  • The starting piece is Yasunori Mitsuda - Reminiscence. Anyone knows what is the title of last part? ?

  • Whats the starting piece that begins on piano called?

    =]

  • This joint was mad ill!

  • haha i got to watch them in Singapore!! Awesomeeeeeeeee

  • THey better hurry up and bring PLAY to the UK. I'm getting a bit damned impatient!

  • you know, this is a touring symphony, you have multiple chances to see this live.

  • Chrono Cross, wow! My favorite videogame... I would have given anything to hear that concert T_T

  • BONER!

  • Nostalgasm.

  • So cool to hear it done like this. I would have loved to hear Magus' theme, but still awesome none the less.

  • Yeah. It was all gorgeous, but what I wouldn't give to hear them play the Boss Battle II (Masamune, Tyrano, etc) music...

  • Personally, I'd love to hear World Revolution. That is probably my favorite song from any video game ever.

  • The first one is beatiful! What game is it from?

  • Chrono Cross iirc

  • Frog is my hero!

  • I was there :) The show was awsome and our Swedish orchestra had never been received that way lol. Claps, screams, and shouts I think were pretty new to them :P
