  • where can I download these exact soundtracks>?

  • Ah its always nice to know the music your going to kill someone to in a play and i have to say this is perfect for it

  • Gigue starts at 5:11

  • Brilliant tempo!

  • WHY ISNT THERE ANYONE PLAYING THE CEMBALO?!?!?!

  • This song is the song I want to play as I walk down the isle :D

It has been since I was 6 years old!

  • Great version, thanks for posting!!!

  • Beiber tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, to be as good as Pachelbel, but he only failed more epically each time. And each time he made a new YouTube account as well, and that's why there are five dislikes.

  • 5 people have no taste in beautiful music whatsoever

  • I love PACHELBEL:)))) Man I play this song on my flute over and over again it's just sooo beautiful:))))

  • vraiment vraiment harmonieux !!

  • SO GREAT.

  • @kingjordan44 lol, i love classical music AND rap. I kinda want to rap over this song its so awesome! you should try listening to underground hiphop, its much more intelligent than a lot of mainstream stuff.

  • this is nothing but beautiful

  • The gigue's SO beautiful and all people care about's the Canon!! Pathetic.

  • thnx for putting this up! i usually listen to this type of music when im going to sleep but i listen to this one all the time!!!!!

  • Very good version, but I can't hear the harpsichord after the first minute or so... why?

  • i love this song

im going to have this on my wedding! im only 25 but who cares hahaha

  • its a christmas song

  • @AbSrKoEs

    No

  • wonderful!!! ^_^

  • For my seventh birthday, I received a burned cd with all my favourite music on it. I listened to it every evening before I went to bed and as far into the night as I could be permitted. Tragedy struck and a minor house fire burned my collection to the ground.

Almost ten years later, eight years since I last heard the music, I felt a sudden urge to look up "Pachelbel Canon Gigue" in Youtube. Lo and behold, here is the exact melody which I listened to most of all so long ago.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • Sin palabras

  • 2 people thought the dislike button meant

    "dis i like"

    XD

  • Good quality and i'd have to say thank you because this has helped me tremendously in my effort to play this song with my friend in our solo and ensemble

  • When I first heard this in the movie When In Rome I loved it!

I don't normally listen to this kinda music but OH MY GOD IT'S SOOTHING!

It so beautiful...I wanna go to Rome...

  • Happy Birthday to Johann today!

  • I ALMOST CRIED :(

  • AWESOME!! O_O

  • hey guys....listen to the song Sanctus by libera.....they made a combination of this music and given it lyrics...

    it's an awesome song

oh yeah...they are a choir by the way...

  • I love this piece. I get to play it as a floutist in a quartet with some of my friends. Truly a splendid piece!

  • lo maximo es la giga.... y el canon tab pero mas me gusta la giga

  • i love this song! its a really good song for my sassy girl. thats my fave movie. it made me cry.

  • Herbert dus Karajos

  • Berliner Philarmonicher - Herbert von Karajan

  • This is the best version I have heard. Didn't like the fast versions as much, or the slower ones. Or the organ ones :-) ... This is the best of them(did I mention that yet?). Hits the spot

  • I may not know how the score is to be played but I can say that the songs are very lovely.

  • AS it turns out, the Canon was originally meant to be played faster-much faster. It can be found here on youtube. and if the gigue is played at the tempo of this version of the canon, then it is slow. BUt so is the canon ;)

  • i think that this version is better than my CD (KARAJAN-berlin ochestra etc.). but gigue is too slow. gigue is dancing music.. For all that, i love it

  • The gigue is too slow, but this is an excelent version of the canon

  • I play viola and i can play the viola part.(im learning the 1st violin part in alto soon.)

  • Very good. But a bit too slow.

  • Nice version thx for uploading. A gigue for anyone who doesnt know was a lively baroque dance circa 17th century, this seems a tiny bit slow for that.

Ps the gigue kicks in around 5:20 you dont hear it often.

  • i think it's the backround cresendo played by the second violin is the main instrument that helps the 1st violin create the gigue, i agree it is slow, for a gigue

  • the cannon is cool but I love the Gigue very very much, tanks for that.

  • a fantastic piece.. I really loved it..

  • we played this for band at our last concert. we did a great job, too.

btw we are in the 6th grade. =]

  • i like the London Symphony WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better with this song. it takes a bit to get used to the beginning, but then u will nver go back. [;

  • I really love this music :'))

  • THANKS U ALOT royF2124, U'VE HELPED ME ALOT, SO LET us all have a moment of silence for Johann Christoph Pachelbel for making us this brilliant song which we listen and love, may he rest in peace

  • no thanks, hope you happy when you are listening Johann Christoph Pachelbel's music

    :D

  • well, i have to thank a great person who cares about canon and Johann Pachelbel, and someone who shares his findings of canon. Yes i absolutly like Johann Pachelbel's music and pieces, and i hope u do too, have a nice day goodbye.

  • hey who gave me a negative?

  • wow, 8 months later you still came back on this video. I gave you a positive to make it even =]

  • ya there r no more good canon videos WITH THE GIGUE, there's only 2, including this video. thanks for the positive, i mean why would someone dislike Johann Pachelbel, and come and watch his Canon + Gigue

  • That's why I'm proud to be german. :)

  • I love it... the best Canon in D here on youtube! ...and of course, with the Gigue! Great, thank you =)

  • I love the gigue!!! And if i'm not wrong its karajan and the berlin orchestra!! :D

It's a wonderful piece and it represents so good the baroque that makes me happy :D jajaja.

  • I am a music student and of everyone I have discussed my topic with (quite a few!) only one knew about the Gigue which is unfortunate because it is so beautiful!

  • The poor Gigue always gets forgotten :(

I am writing a paper on the Canon Progression and to be honest I didn't even know there WAS a gigue until I looked at an official score!

  • I think you are right.

I think too more pepole didn't know the Canon was originally paired with a Gigue in the same key.

  • ur right, i knew it but i never knew how it sounded like, i thought it's like in the canon, but later i found it out at wikipedia, and know i'm looking for the sheet music for violin gigue, if u know where t o find it can u tell me. thanks

  • can u please tell me were u found the offical score, because for 1 i want to find the gigue, and 2 how the hell did someone find the offical original canon by the brilliant composer Johann Christoph Pachelbel

  • I am a music student at Queen's and our music library is absolutely brilliant. The only arrangement of it I could was the string quartet version. The title was listed in german and unfortunatly I cannot remember the name of the publisher. I will check for you and post it on here when I find out.

  • oh thanks alot budz, but the canon that u've found is an arrangment for canon, but thanks anyways.

  • The one I found was the canon AND the gigue

  • oh really that's awsome, i don't know why i said that at the end. But thanks but i've found the gigue at sibleus (i'm not sure how to spell it), but i'll love see urs

  • Pachelbel, Johann. Kanon Und Gigue. St Louis, Missouri: Concordia Publishing House, 1929.

(This is my Bibliography from the paper I wrote based on the canon's progression, if you can't find it I would be happy to scan it and email it to you, just send me a message with your email to my inbox)

  • u know what, it's ok, because i have like 50 sheet musics and scores of canon, and i don't think that i have the orignal versian of canon and i don't think St Louis has it either, it's probly in the museum or it's lost or destroyed, but thanks alot budz for the offers and all.
