  • Science will destroy the earth trying to prove religion wrong... they could both go fuck them selves.

  • Nuclei-nuclei collisions due to cosmic rays occur all the time in the athmosphere. Those collisions are at around 1-2 Pev. Thats 3 orders of magnitude higher! The highest ever recorded particle energies are at around 3.2x10^20 ev. That is way way beyond what the lhc is producing. Right now the LHC is firing at 2.36Tev and still nothing happend :p

  • I know that there are measured cosmic ray particles of that energy. But I also know that they measure secondary particles (at least in that energy regime). They have no proof for what these particles really consist of. They could be massive strange matter originating from a neutron star for example. In that case their velocity could be much smaller than the protons in the LHC. They are constantly lying when they say they know WHAT these particles are. Got enough proof for THAT.

  • you didn't mention the great advance in science such a discovery would bring - a rewriting of the standard model and an insight into the true physics of the universe!

whatever happens i think cern will provide us with a way towards some fascinating new technological advances

  • trying to recreate the big bang and no risk of explosion, how much do they pay these people to be comedians XD

not to mention, head on collision, 50mph + 50mph = 100mph yes, what does light speed add light speed equal??!?

  • this video is - you cannot put it differently - quite alarming ! The LHC is potentially dangerous.

those stupid hacks who bring up cosmic rays as an safety argument haven't read correctly: it is up to this very moment completely unclear what cosmic rays with energies higher than 10^15 eV are made of. All mesurements in this energy regime rely on secondary particles, not primary ones. This also includes mesurements made by the Auger observatorium and AMS II ;-)

  • CERN's persuasive essays have ignored the fact that there is a significant risk that they will blow themselves up, whether it's the entire world or just the ground in which the LHC is located.

  • if we die it matters becues the earth is such a wonderful place to live?

  • According to Descartes, father of the scientific method,

Science has for goal to find god. This is why he gave us a mind capable of analysis.

No knowledge could allow us to rule the universe forever.

  • I think people should look on the bright side, if it does destroy the universe, at least we'll be showing god who's really in charge these days.

  • Allways so arrogant and stupid the human species...of course it will just kill you silly, god if it exists wont even notice a rock blowing up in a corner of its infinite universe

  • All's i can say to the LHC committee is don't piss MacGayver off. He'll turn that God damn Cern ring-a-go-round into a fuckin pretzel.

  • Potentialy the L H C is the BIGGEST,MOST EXPENSIVE FIREWORK EVER!!! if it EVER works !!! Who says that nuclear physisists dont have a sense of humour!

  • Oh my... :))) LHC can not produce chain reaction.

Chain reaction of quarks is not possible due to interaction of gluons. Even 1.000.000.000 quarks have no enough energy to brake standard 3quark system. Only way to split quarks is by using particle coliders, but since you need constant external energy, there can not be chain reaction.

  • so ? how do you know that

  • quantum conservation laws

  • never heard of it, explain

  • btw, we are not talking about splitting quarks ... it's all about splitting protons (and maybe neutrons as well)

  • Which are a 3-quark system, as 9Charnel mentioned.

  • I know what the 3-quark system is (up and down quarks) but that doesn't mean that you cannot break this system up.

quote (encyclopedia com): quark star: A hypothetical star intermediate in density between a neutron star and a black hole. Such a star would consist of free quarks. The forces between the quarks balance the gravitational forces. [...] but some models for the cores of neutron stars suggest that the neutrons (and any protons) break up into a broth of quarks.

This is a fiction, in contrast to the trivialisation of CERN and its affiliated Isntitute stands. Unfortunately, the critics often have quite e.g. Chernobyl - SUPERGAU, repository-Gorleben aces säuft or LHC - Protonengau, 53 large magnets are in Sept.2008 damaged

  • das ist ja eben die Frage. Ist es wirklich nur Fiktion ? Und wenn nicht, wäre es dann nicht besser wenn es doch nur Fiktion bliebe, also die Experimente abgebrochen werden ?

  • great video I've said this myself

  • erster!!! 5 sterne !!

    stop cern
