  • We used to use these to supercharge small cars. Go to e-racing.com

  • @RCSuperPowers will u review the hobbyking stinger 64 rtf ???? PLZ

  • i want it to power my push bike...times are hard :P I had to scrap my car

  • great job..helped out alot

  • :44 The battery says 14.8V. Thats not a 3 cell Dave!!! :)

  • pants down? :) hands down lol

  • Pants down? I believe hands down is the correct wording on that, Dave. Lol.

  • Here all this time I thought RC Powers had an actual store product site.

I just went looking for this large ducted fan, and poof, no way to get there.

No link to them either. I don't get it.

    Love the show.

  • 2:42 "by far PANTS DOWN this is our favorite."

  • I think the design of the blade is more important then the size, I've had a super sweet 55mm edf drawing only 15 amps. When I put a 4 cell 1000mah, I get unlimited verticle on my stryker. The fan lasted for 3 years and about 100 flights before exploding.

  • A Twighlight fan in an air duct.

  • where do you buy your 70mm fans?

  • @DrDissent

Not so much literal feel, but he means more the relation between what you want/need/expect when you add imput to the controller, and what the rc aircraft actually does.. if that makes sense.

  • so i have to run a 6 cell for a 90mm edf? what would happen if i used a 4 cell 15volt with a higher amperage? would it overheat?

  • @Underpantsniper Nah it wouldn't overheat, it would just be sluggish and underpowered. Think of it as the the motor 'taking' current from the battery rather than the battery 'giving' current to the motor. This means you can smoke a battery and speed control by putting a prop that is too large on a motor because the motor is trying to 'take' to much current from the battery. EDF fans have a very low diameter meaning they don't draw too many amps so you can jump up the thrust with higher volts.

  • I never understood how people claim that an RC "feels" a certain way. If you were flying a real aircraft that makes sense, but holding a joystick on a radio doesn't feel like anything.

  • @DrDissent Trust me, it does. You can "feel" when the plane is about to stall. Or at least I can. It does something, I dunno what, but you can tell when things are gonna happen as you fly. If you're good.

Problem with noobies is that they cannot tell when the plane is gonna tipstall or stall. They can't "Feel" the plane.

  • @RCvehicleGuy 6th sense based on visual feedback and experience. I got ya...

  • @DrDissent Yep, pretty much sums it up just right.

  • ok answered more questions i had . u guys are awsome thanks and keep the videos comming.

  • I am awared that there're numerous classes with diff. power capabled even in certain duted fans in same sizes- 70mm duted fans thus can have diff. qualities and power.

  • what would it be like if you put a 6-cell battery in a plane that is meant to run on a 2-cell

  • @96froger 200 % over max voltage. I don't know. Lots of variables but I would suspect if not properly controlled. Smoke!!

  • thumbs up for ducted fans!!!

  • e-flite models go with 65 and 69mm 4cell.....they have more than enough

those crappy nitroplanes planes are 64mm and 3cell.....thats why they aren't that good

  • I deleted my previous comment. I do appreciate all of the hard work and dedication RCP has put into this hobby. The RC audio course is a very good buy, especially if you are new to the hobby. Many of us do not understand what it takes to put together a good 5-10min youtube video each week, but we keep demanding more (guilty), but there are PLENTY of other channels out there that make "fun" videos. Keep up the good work Dave/Scott/Val and can't wait to see the next plane that gets released!

  • by far, pants down.

  • Comment removed

  • 1:10 that fan looks way too tiny for that plane, plus - isn't it the whole point of DUCTED fans to have a duct aka wind channel?

As soon as you don't have a closed tube for air to travel ducted fan looses it's point: low turbulence due to absence of tip vorticies, and thus there is no bigger thrust then on a propeller of the very same size.

    Bad design i think...

  • You need to review walkera Devention Radios and tell us why we can not play Angry birds on those radios :D

  • START HAVING FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @zackzouck The Ultimate RC Course is only a library of collected information, plus a few extra bits, of research that has been researched and found via Dave over the years. If you want information on how to do various things, watch his videos - he shares a lot of helpful information for free. If you want to support his endeavours and own a single comprehensive library of information, plus gain a few of his development plans, buy his RC course.

  • @xero993 VERY well said!

  • @zackzouck shut up dude, the information this guy sells is worth much more than he sells it for.

  • @zackzouck

Yeah!! Spend the hours/days/weeks/months/years reading and researching and discerning bad information from good, yourself!

It's not like time is worth anything!!

  • @nishbrown time is money bud

  • @zackzouck

Glad you can read through the sarcasm and get the point!

    ;^)

  • @nishbrown yea i know i failed right there haha

  • Stop useing caps in the title... its makeing you sound pompuos

  • what ducted fan setup would be needed to produce 50lbs of static thrust or more.. just a curiosity question. sticking to electric.

  • 0:44 You showed a 4S, when talking about a 3S.

    Just sayin'.

  • Pants down? O.o

  • @RCSuperPowers Yay Team, great clip... LOL, I got a $50 RTF "Sky Hero" by Digitech, for Father's Day. Has 11.5 inch Span, with a 32mm Fan, in a 33mm Duct, on each Tip... 11.3 inch Length. It's Asymetric-Thrust controlled. The twitchiest thing I've ever flown ! Tee hee. Great fun, in dead calm.... Segue, to see why R/C is vastly superior to flying Ultralights, please search 'Requiem Skycraft Scout', and study the Crash- Analysis... All true, too.

    Ciao!

  • You spelled "SEDUCTED" wrong...

  • "by far.. pants down"... lol

did he just say that... its at 2:39

  • @greenrolaids Ok, I am not the only one.....lol

  • But the 64mm is more fun to scratch build with. I made an AUW profile mirage 2000 at only 380g. The 64mm system gave me a thrust of 500g WOT.

  • What about mixing fans?

  • looking like a fool with your pants on the ground.... :)

  • Another useful video from RCSuperPowers !

  • you say 3 cells, but you show a pic of a 4 cell batt.............FAIL

  • 1:27 I would like to buy a 5000mAh Four-Cell battery and modify it to work with my PSP.

Are those batteries rechargable? And how expensive are they?

  • @Amaroqdricaldari unfortunatly a Li-Po battery would be incompatible with a PSP if you want to use the inbuilt charger and battery protection board.

PSP uses a single cell Li-Ion battery, however i've modified mine with 3 cells from a laptop battery IN PARALLEL, otherwise it's to much voltage for the PSP. and i made them connect to the original battery's charger/protection board so it charges like normal (albeit very slowly..) hope that helps.

  • Will you ever try to make an Easy Build A-10?

  • Thank you for the tips. I´m from Perú, S. America...

    Love your you tube ¨show¨.

  • @Dongato632010

id love you to show us your tube..

  • is nexy monday tomorrow?

  • Yay! Next week is going to be an RC flying video!

  • @Mrmodeltrainz finaly

  • 70mm EDF is OK but I say it's from 90mm with 8 cell the fun starts!! :-D

Flyfly mirage with fan, 2 HS-85MG, 100A ESC and a 2Kwatt motor and you can't stop smiling!! ;-)

  • lol PANTS DOWN!

    Oh and um 1:43 B17?

  • @myrandomspaces Nope, it's a Lockheed L-1049 Constellation

  • @MrVinney96 No I think its a B 17 because it doesn't have any AUX wing fuel tanks on the end of the wing and If you look closely there is only one Vertical Stabilizer.

  • @myrandomspaces ok my bad, it looked like it though

  • @Moe7133 Dude, have more respect than that..9/11 is much more different from yelling 1st on a vid,

  • First to say 9/11!!!!!!

  • 12th...great vid!

  • What bothers me in the EDFs is the fan set on the edge of an extension - why? It is very difficult balance. Why not closer to the motor?

  • 62nd

  • @mustang102100 nu-uh, thats me, and you cant be me obviously... hahaha :)

  • 7th

  • mm but its fast D: decisions....

  • second

  • awsome vid

  • third!

  • second

  • last

  • first
