Phil are u recording in avchd or mp4 format. If you switch to mp4 you can shoot at 1080p at 30 fps. Avchd is recorded at 1080i at 60 fps. I have the nex5 and it's a great little camera.

This video looks really crisp even at 480p, but the gaming videos of MW3 were absolutely horrendous. So for videos like The Hateful Truth, Ask The King, Week in Preview etc use this camera, and for your gaming vids use your older camera.

As far as watching in the regular YouTube page goes (no full screen, just the larger sized player on the video page), there's really no difference between 720p and 1080p. Of course, I wasn't really expecting one at that size anyway. The quality is great in both, but unless there are a lot of people watching in full screen mode with monitors big enough to make the difference between 720p and 1080p visible, I say stick to 720p to save time and memory card/hard drive space.

Okay to be quite honest I don't really notice that much difference with the older footage, There is some but not a lot. also the focus is not that good as the ''old'' camera

The small difference is significant, atleast in my eyes.

I can quickly notice that the video actually has a more shallow depth of field which also makes closer objects appear sharper. The interchangeable lens may not focus as quickly but I assume that this camera is to be treated like a DSLR. Also the contrast is also more natural. I doubt this video was processed and it looks really good.

Remember it's not always about the resolution/pixels, it's the glass.

527drake is correct about the file size and also in parts of it when you were bringing something closer it got blurred for a second.

In all it looks good and you just have to mess around the settings for TV and in room areas to not get any blur.
