Punk jazz? Actually, not really that punk or out, or groundbreaking. But the fact that they are white and have a punk vibe and attitude is what sets them apart and gets them a higher profile than conservative looking black guys in suits would get playing excatly the same music. I checked out your suggestion and found Hiromi overheated and humourless. To borrow your argument, the fact she is a Japanese girl gets her a higher profile and over 100,000 views. The Bad Plus are enjoying every minute!
